Nawa for Nigeria. Of all things going on this is where u want to make mouth. Good gracious. what is wrong with these higher ups. No sense. it is therefore in the overriding public interest that the government of Nigeria be permitted to enter an appearance to formally observe the proceedings for the purpose of ensuring that the defendant who is a citizen of Nigeria is accorded fair trial thereby protecting his rights to due process."Idiots!!!! now u know the meaning of fair trial and due process. complete fools. |
Okay. I only see one flaw in your essay and maybe u might address it in your next essay. But when do we start holding the citizens responsible too. Yes, the govt. is to blame for all these problems but we as citizens also play a major role in this. We need an uprising and a way to make our voices heard. But we're suffering from deep rooted disease of complacency and lack of inaction. We all see what's going on but we will rather run from it or accept things the way they are. Isn't it time we stood firm and really made some noise. Don't really care what we say but for the fact we actually say it. |
babaearly:True talk. But aren't u one of them Just saying unless u've done something to talk about. |
Quite an interesting read. I'll be back to comment further. Looking forward to part 2 |
Might be true but how did we get here? Who is responsible? government, us, foreigners? We let Nigeria become the joke. I let Nigeria be the joke. Isn't it time we start taking responsibility for our inactions and stop making excuses for Nigeria? Otherwise we will keep talking about this again. |
Let me start by apologizing. If I posted this is in the wrong section Mods please feel free to move. I'm sure we are pretty familiar with Neda's story and the Iran movement. I couldn't help but ponder if we (Nigerian's) will ever have the same courage portrayed by Iranians to stage a protest against our government. What makes us so different from the Iranians. We continue to witness injustice, corruption, poverty on a day to day basis and yet seem incapable to doing anything against it. Have we (Nigerians) lost our voices or just plain complacent and learnt to live with our many problems. Isn't it time we use our voices to speak our truth and be heard. We won't have such deep rooted problems if we've spoken up a long time ago. But we held on to our truth hoping that someone else will provide us with voices. Isn't about time we said enough is enough and tackled this problem head on. http://www.cnn.com/2010/WORLD/meast/06/20/iran.neda.anniversary/index.html I leave you with this quote to ponder How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirrorV I'm sure I'll probably read an eye full but I ask you to please take a moment and refelect on what's seriously wrong with us before responding to this post. |
Hey this sounds really interesting I would like to know more about your charity organization. I'm open to volunteer work . If you don't mind me e-mailing you for additional information. Thanks |

OMG!!!!!! ROTFLMAO!!!!! This is the funniest ish i've head. Need to hurry home and go watch thi disaster for myself ![]() |
So many and too many to name. Yes corruption is a problem but the disease is complacency, ignorance and religion. Why religion? well that ties into complacency. There's more prayer than action. Everyone believes that living in the church 24/7 and knowing the bible from front to back will alleviate us of our problems. There's absolutely nothing wrong with Nigeria. Because Nigeria has been blessed with so many resources. However, our disease so to speak it our people. If you're able to influence/change just one person's mindset you've won half the battle. Just like the above poster mentioned a grass root organization will be somewhere to start. Find like minded people like yourself and let your voices be heard. Be willing to fight for what you believe in and good luck on what ever avenue you pursue. Words will always retain their power. Words offer the means to meaning, and for those who will listen, the enunciation of truth. And the truth is, there is something terribly wrong with this country. |
Ex Inferis:oh really. My bad. I searched and didn't find any topic on Android. Thanks for all u guys help though. |
Nigeria a developing nation? Nah! Nigeria is simply a wealthy nation blessed with natural resources who drastically was overwhelmed with poverty just because of the doings of a few greedy leaders who do not give two sh*ts about the people.
You hit the nail on the head. Nigeria is a paradox. I don't think we can call it a developing nation. We seem to be regressing if nothing more. I mean it's 2010 and we're still dealing with generating electricty c'mon now. I'm not even comparing it with America. I lived in Tanzania for 2 years and Dar-es-Salaam blew me away. Kobojunkie:I've always considered Nigeria a rich poor country. |
Ohhh so close. Almost got rid of 62 incompetent senators. Imagine how this headlne would be reading. |
I'm in lets take the fight to the motherland!!!! VIVA REVOLUTION kosovo:True nigerian. Already nominating yourself lolololol ![]() |
Will my HTC android phone work in Nigeria or should I get a new phone?? ![]() |
Unfreakingacceptable!!!!!!!! The damage has been done but she should still see if there's a way she could explain the situation to the embassy. And yes leave the a**h*le. That's not a husband or a marriage to be in. If he could pull this kind of shyte imagine what he's capable of. That's how things start gng downhill. She's seen signs of what kind of man he is. Leave now!!! I know I might be jumping shark now but leave before the gng gets tough. As my girl Whitney Houston sang " I'll rather be alone than unhappy". And she knows what she's talking about too. |
SEFAGO:WTH ? can u change that to SOME NIGERIAN WOMEN jeez. |
stay tuned for the live coverage come thursday!!!!!
Is this gng to be like the movie - The Ring, after listening/watching I have 10 days to live. Oh noooo, ![]() |
Well as they say ignorance is bliss. I'm guessing these women you talked to have given up their nigerian citizenship and never ever plan on going back to naija to live. They probably received their permanent residency and now feeling very oyinbo now. What's their business with naija. Unfortunately there's not a lot of good news to report from Nigeria. On another note, not cool to generalize. There are still some ppl with hope for nigeria and believe that something can be done to fix our country or more importantly change the mindset of nigerians. |
EzeUche:ROFL . Amen to that! but it better be in self defense ![]() |
ROFLMAO!!!!! . this is too funny. For a brief second I can understand why most developed nation reject religion. So how is this curse gng to be delivered? HAHAHAHAHA!!!! |
A poster mentioned if Brazil or Argentina decided to apply for visa for 200 delegates that the SA embassy would not question them. Maybe or maybe not don't know for sure. But one thing u shud remember is that our reputation precedes us. So yeah in a way I don't blame SA for denying the visa even if there was no actual reason for it. |
Kobojunkie:HAHAHAHAHA!!! Thanks Kobo for smacking sense into me lol so I guess it's back to lowered expectations. I let my american thought process get the best of me lol. Yeah u're right. Dis na Nigeria. What was I thinking. Well you really dissect and analyze this proposal it sounds very unrealistic. Let's start from the very basic. Just like others have pointed out, how will they verify if you are unemployed graduate, or verify when u become employed ? Oh well i'm waiting to see how this will go down. |
Good idea. I'm actually impressed at the idea especially since it's Nigeria. But how about putting that money into creating actual jobs like building up infrastructures etc. I mean the country needs a face lift any way. Why not pay ppl to actually do that. Just a thought. So will this be like unemployment benefits like in the US or Food Assistance![]() |
snowdrops:LMAO! |
Stupidity ohhhhh. What kind celebration be this. If you really want to celebrate go build better schools, roads, hey maybe light 16 or 24hrs will also work. Nonsense ppl!! |
Well i guess anyone wanting to enjoy 16-24hrs of light need to move to either Abuja or Lagos. Nigeria F yeah!!!! ![]() |
Just saying unless u've done something to talk about.
