It was BEAF nd other paid agent that exposed jonathan's incompetence. Before now I wasn't suporting anybody, I was just an observer but suddenly I saw BEAF flooding nairaland with jonathan this ,jonathan that and lapping up any silly ting the guy does.

So I went back,did my research and got to see the light in this BB ticket,so without any monetary gain I became a BB advocate.

Lies can run for a thousand years but the truth catches up. Between yesterday and today I have converted 13 voters to this camp and I am not being paid.

My fellow BB Brethren, despite the popularity of the BB campaign in the North,what is the game plan for the south?

I am worried as i see GEJ adverts flooding the TV every seconds but i hardly see anything from our camp. These days even the poorest product well hyped will still sell,its all about packaging. Even the Americans know the importance of media buys in political campaign that is why whoever did the most adverts has a serious edge, Obama despite its credibility outspent McCain and Hillary to win the 2008 election.

Why is there no serious effort to mobilize funds by the BB camp? i think we should create different accounts into which we can contribute and show these FDF guys that the masses coins can become billions because Being honest alone will not win elections in Nigeria! And i dont believe the Media houses have been bought over because those guys are just out to make money, as my people will say MONEY FOR HAND,BACK FOR GROUND.

With the current situation of things in Nigeria, GEJ should be a walkover by now but its like BB is holding to the northern votes alone while ignoring the south. If we loose this election it wont be that GEJ is a better candidate,every electorate i see already knows Joe Boy has nothing to offer but we have not succeeded in showing them that there is a better alternative to GEJ. The best political strategies in my view would have been that BB floods the south with adverts and do less of physical campaign there, while BB do more of physical campaign in the North where it is already popular and keep pulling its huge crowd.

But i have resolved to campaign on,whatever the outcome may be sha. Because when i go to my grave i would have peace that at least i made an effort to set this country on the right path by electing credible leaders. Peace.

A strong indication emerged weekend on the possibility of crude oil reserves in the flood plain of the river Niger around Bida area of Niger State. The Nigerian Mining and Geosciences Society (NMGS) gave the indication in Minna.The society’s president, Professor Anthony Azubuike Elueze, in a press briefing, said investigations into the samples of the soil from the area was on-going to ascertain the authentic level of reserve. He also disclosed that there were other parts of the country with such prospects. The areas he listed were Chad and Sokoto basins.
According to him “As resources continue to dwindle, we need to look for new grounds as potential areas for natural resources. In Bida area of Niger State, we have prospects of getting hydrocarbons.”



He disclosed that the society would be holding its 46th annual conference and that the samples of soil taken from Bida, which contained hydrocarbon that indicates presence of crude oil underground would be further analysed.

Consequently the president of NMGS said that at the end of the society’s five-day conference it would come out with a resolution on the findings from the Bida Trough to authenticate the presence of crude oil in the area. This, he said, would contribute to the body of knowledge in the area of economic policy in Nigeria.

Elueze therefore called on the federal government to advance ways of sustaining the gains of crude oil in the country even as he cautioned that crude oil as a resource was not renewable and so the gains should be channelled positively to diversifying the nation’s economy.

THE President is under pressure to order the arrest and detention of former Lagos Governor Bola Tinubu, sources said yesterday.

Some security agents are believed to have been trailing Tinubu’s movement in the last few days.

The planned arrest is said to be part of a grand plot by the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to “capture” the Southwest and prevent a likely run-off in the April 9 presidential election.

A former President has been manipulated in the plot.

But President Goodluck Jonathan is said not to be “keen” on any “crude” method to win.

The Nation learnt that some of the President’s strategists repeatedly queried why Tinubu is still left to call the shots in the Southwest and in the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) when the government could take advantage of pending “phantom” allegations against him.

It was learnt that some of the strategists, at a meeting in Abuja, took exception to the alleged “kid-glove” treatment given Tinubu by the President.

Some sources alleged that the meeting was held at the Villa; others claimed it was at a secret location, which they refused to state.

But, it was learnt that, in line with the “grand plot”, the ex-governor’s security aides were withdrawn last week to “demonstrate the efficacy of Federal might”.

A source said: “The plot by some strategists of the President, including a former Head of State, is to ensure that Tinubu is in detention till after the April poll. These people are intimidating and putting Jonathan under pressure to do it.

“In one of their meetings, they queried why it had been difficult for the Presidency to ‘demystify’ Tinubu.

“The President has, however, restated his commitment to win the poll, free and fair. He has been reminding some of his strategists of his pledge to the international community that the April elections will be conducted without inhibitions.

“These desperate strategists, including some PDP stalwarts in the Southwest, are, however, blind to the implications of the arrest and detention of a key opposition figure less than one month to the polls.

“Their concern is that the over 14 million votes from the Southwest cannot be ignored by the PDP. They also raised concern about likely surprises the ACN might spring in some states, such as Bauchi, Imo, Ebonyi, Benue, Akwa Ibom, Lagos, Oyo, Ondo, Ogun, Ekiti, Osun, Edo and Rivers states.”

“Acting National Chairman of the PDP Mohammed Haliru Bello reportedly gave an insight into the plot at a campaign rally in Lagos when he made a lot of innuendoes on Tinubu.

“These strategists had initially ignored the possibility of a presidential poll rerun in April, but the reality of the political situation nationwide has made Tinubu a target.

“It has now dawned on them that once there is a presidential rerun, PDP will lose out as the Action Congress of Nigeria and the Congress for Progressive Change can form an alliance to seal the fate of the PDP.

“They are after do-or-die poll to retain the grip of the PDP.”

An ACN source said last night that the party and Tinubu were also set for the battle ahead.

The source added: “Tinubu is unruffled by their plot. Although he is aware that his movement is being trailed, he is ready to give it what it takes.

“He has told all his aides and followers that he would resist all attempts to smear his image just to taint his political career and capture the Southwest.”
