My opinion is, FG should deregulate the oil sector; subsidy is good but should not be limited to just one commodity, PMS.
Some argue in favour of subsidy for PMS, to reduce the ripple effect of price increase on other commodities, yet forgot that no process industry runs on PMS, no cargo truck runs on PMS.
FG should subsidize our standard of living not PMS.
Why can't FG subsidize the building of refineries instead of subsidizing PMS importation?
How can we be arguing in favour of importation against local production? |

More befuddling is the dispositions of our so-called educated youths. Where is our objectivity in analyzing people's opinion about our nation? Must the nation sink because Jonathan lost the last election?
From the reactions I am getting from Nigerians on social medias on negative publications against our government and people by foreign medias, I am tempted to and have no other option than to believe that average Nigerians are suffering from a severe psychological disorder of inferiority complex if not I see no reason why we trust foreign reports about ourselves much more than what is obtainable within us.
I weep for this generation! How so sad but true. This is the same people during GEJ that wailed because America refused to sell to Nigeria, now America has changed her mind, we are wailing they shouldn't sell to Nigeria. The question is, if GEJ had bought those war planes then wouldn't PMB still make use of them now? |

CzarChris: Truthful, this why that no sex before marriage BS ain't really a great idea. Personal experience, I once dated this pretty goddess, everything was great except the sex, I was a freak in bed, while she really didn't like sex that much. We were the best in all things together, but the bedroom part of my life was really suffering. We talked about it often, but to no avail. She's now an ex, and I thank God everyday for it, cos we almost got married at a certain point.
Note: Be sanctimonious all you want but the truth is the truth. You are right. I have been there, seen it, done it. It was after that experience I realized the full meaning of concubine aka side chick syndrome. Do I subscribe to the side chick/toy boy syndrome? No one is perfect but our religious/societal norm has a one-size-fits-all when it comes to marital formatting. I asked myself: do I have to keep changing who I date because one thing is always missing? The side chick came to the rescue but would we accept the fact that some of our ladies may equally need such a rescue? Where do we strike a balance? |

A lot of our youths are irredeemably deluded and daft. Ibe kachikwu said subsidy is removed, the midget VP says it's just a price hike to reflect realities of high exchange rate.
Haba, Nigeria is in deep shiiiii. Did you listen to the Minister, Ibe kachiku? he said the #135 - 145 price band is a reference price, that speech was made and the following day an alleged scarce PMS was available and sold at virtually all outlets in my town. why do marketers pick the upper price limit? |

with all the oil we are producing, we are still buying for 145 per litre when a barrel is being exchanged for 37 dollars, i a forced to imagine how much a small country like Benin republic that has no oil will be paying for fuel. sweetheart, it's true we produce crude oil but we don't refine it to PMS, we import PMS. if you follow the politics of the PMS subsidy, you will know that we have been subsidizing for Benin Republic. is it not surprising ever since subsidy was removed from diesel, despite it is still imported the price had stabilized and the product is available? |

Asking her for sex in exchange was rather disgusting. Would he ask same from a guy like him? He was at liberty to simply say he can't assist her.
What is the name of the crime or sin she committed? Don't you think the guy needed help also and felt the lady could assist? If a lady is right in asking a guy she barely knew for money (for whatever reason), a guy is equally right in asking a lady he barely knew for sex (a specific reason). It's a willing buyer - willing seller situation. Inasmuch as a lady wouldn't want to be taken as a sex object, neither would any guy want to be taken as road side ATM. |

Pathetic lies. The so called freelance company Chevron used didn't come out to claim the arrested quintet are their workers too. Curiously. Exactly my thoughts. Why are the elders holding brief for the companies? If the quintet are staff of the companies mentioned, the companies would surely be called to identify them; besides, being a company staff doesn't mean they can't also be involved in the vandalism. holyfather: Your logic is really laughable Come to think of it, that he was a descendant of Noah shouldn't be an automatic ticket. After all any generation could decide to worship whichever god they choose.
Joshua mentioned their names and stated clearly that they worshipped other gods, which was why Abraham had to leave. {Joshua 24:2-3}
My advice for you is, read your Bible some more and stop foisting your heretic stance on God. It's a fact the world at that time was polytheist, before Yahweh gave the commandment to Moses not to worship any other beside him. Hinting at the plausibility of the "Others" being just like him. Mind you, when God told Abraham to leave his people it was not because they were "pagans" but that he (God) would make him (Abraham) a great nation. (Genesis 12) Is it not heretically myopic to say the forefathers of Abraham were pagans, and if so, who were the worshipers of God before Abraham was called? |

holyfather: Was Abraham worshipping God in his father's house? Please answer that question. For your mind, a descendant of Noah would not know about the God that saved his forefathers from destruction, abi? For your mind, Noah was the last person that worshiped God and did it in isolation from his family, abi? Has it ever occurred to you that the religious practices of Noah was also copied by his descendants? If Abraham never knew/worshiped God in his father's house, how did he get to know how to contact God? That you don't know the God of your forefathers doesn't apply to others. |

Christianity Etc › Re: Clear Error In The Bible: God Could Not Make Such A Mistake by menxer: 12:07pm On May 15, 2016 |
Medicis: First Samuel is correct in stating that the high priest was Ahimelech. On the other hand neither was Jesus wrong. When we take a closer look at Christ’s words we notice that He used the phrase “in the days of Abiathar” (v. 26) which does not necessarily imply that Abiathar was high priest at the time David ate the bread. After David met Ahimelech and ate the bread, King Saul had Ahimelech killed ( 1 Sam. 22:17–19 ). Abiathar escaped and went to David (v. 20) and later took the place of the high priest. So even though Abiathar was made high priest after David ate the bread, it is still correct to speak in this manner. After all, Abiathar was alive when David did this, and soon following he became the high priest after his father’s death. Thus, it was during the time of Abiathar, but not during his tenure in office. Abiathar was a high priest during David’s reign as king, and he is mentioned some 29 times in the Old Testament in relation to his priestly role. Those familiar with the Hebrew Bible in the 1st century (when The Gospel of Mark was written) would easily connect Abiathar to David, so Mark 2:26 is merely reminding readers of the time frame of David’s eating the consecrated bread. The words “the high priest,” coming after “Abiathar” are just his title, much like we might say, “When President Obama attended college, he made many friends.” Obama was not president while he was in college, but whenever we mention Obama, we refer to him as President Obama. Your argument is faulty. Is it right to say that in the days of PMB crude sold at $120/bl, since he was alive but not yet the President, when crude oil sold at that price? Dates and events are always referenced with regards to the authority figure at the time. |
