Ibos penchant for kidnapping did not start today. Missionaries and foreigners that lived among them said Ibos love to ambush their prey, whether human or animal. The love for cannibalism has found new outlets - that of ambushing....kidnapping....and using prey to satisfy urges.

Health › Request For Comments: Post-covid, Projections And Scaling. by MetaPhysical(op): 6:11am On May 04, 2020
How society will respond and evolve after Covid19.

Covid19 or SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome).

SARS is contagious and fatal. It attacks the respiratory system and destroy air sacks in the lungs. Air sacs regulates air pressure and breathing the way heart regulates blood pressure and blood flow.

Another name for SARS is coronavirus.

Once infected, SARS can destroy slowly, or it can be very rapid and quick, killing its victim within few hours.

It is spread in the following manner -
High air pressure released through sneeze, cough, spit by one person infected with SARS is sprayed as a mist of fluid that become airborne and is breathed in or absorbed through skin of nearby persons in the catchment range. The range has been calibrated to 6feet or 1.829 meters.

One person can pass the infection to multitude of persons within close range...or, if carried by wind, can travel further to people outside normal range of catchment beyond 6feet.

According to WHO, the first SARS was a epidemic in 2003. It killed people in countries around the globe and was eventually contained using available vaccines. Since then there has been four occurrences at a small scale.

Covid19 has been labelled a novel virus. This is so because it contains strains far divergent from that of any known influenza in medical history and with no available antidote or vaccine. It has never been seen and so no one has knowledge to study it to know how to combat it. So the world of human population is learning day by day as we go along.

In the sigma philosophy, which studies control mechanisms for quality control and management, key inputs are baselined and outputs are used as feedback to moderate production processes and thereby cut down on defects and wastages. One of the models of sigma is the principle of Cause & Effect.

The cause & effect of covid19 will have far reaching impacts in public life as well in private life. I have listed below some of the areas in which we can begin to see "scaling". Some are immediate, a few others are midterm and rest are longterm.

Before the listing I want to share an experience. Three years ago I had opportunity to interview with a US talent hunter company. They recruit strictly for corporations looking for remote workers. Part of the incentives is that you can do the job from anywhere in the world reliable internet is available. Your productivity, whether in the office space or out on the beach is not impacted. The only limitation you have is "reliable internet". As part of the recruiting exercise applicants are required to send in an audio recording stating name, position applied for and a brief introduction of self. I could not complete the audio part because internet kept buffering and distorting my audio recording. The job paid more than what our Senators earn in a year. I mentioned this to highlight two things: the workforce of the future is global, infrastructural build out of fiber technology is a necessity now.

Here we go...

Self Preservation
Expect to see new legislations that criminalize spread of contagious SARS, either through willful motive or as an act of negligence.

Right before lockdown individuals were stocking up food items. No one had thought of shopping for protective gears (masks, gloves, PPE). This behavior will change. People are likely to add PPE,masks and gloves to their inventory of first aid home kit.

Income Protection
I just found out few days ago that some companies in Nigeria had people working from home. I thought the work from home directive from the Governors were just policy statements but did not know that the capability existed in some work functions. These are remote workers. Remote worker in the Nigerian sense should not be misunderstood with remote workers in UK. The infrastructure that facilitates safe and stress free remote-work in UK does not exist in Nigeria. So until I find out more info on the Nigerian case I will say the Nigerian remote worker is not behind a "secured" vpn connection; he is working nonetheless, but in somewhat of a scaled back version of the typical office tradition...pushing papers and doing data entry....not collaborating via sharedpoints or desktop solutions. There is actually a workforce solution called "remote desktop, popularized by American companies like IBM, Microsoft and Citrix.

More companies are going to seek out remote desktop solutions and team collaboration tools. This means jobs in the ICT field will see a surge in hiring and customer demands.

Many people work in non-essential but location-dependent production function. This pandemic has eroded their income or completely wiped it away. Lessons learnt! A number of these people should be expected to explore skills-upgrade and take a new direction in employment that protects their income in future repeat of a SARS epidemic or pandemic.

Work Force & Productivity
Employers will start exploring new measures for business continuity in the middle of a pandemic or any limitation on public access.

This will include desktop solutions that allow workforce to function in office campus or away in a remote lockdown environment.

Sequestration could be introduced to industrial complexes. You build well equipped, gender-specific, residential quarters inside an industrial complex. When a city locks down the complex also lock down their workforce in their quarters and their availability to work-shifts within the complex is not interrupted.

Schools
The imperative of long distance learning has just hit us. As it is, school calendar and academic cycle has been greatly impacted and will no doubt put many students behind. There will be an ambitious drive by private school proprietors to use this opportunity for market differentiation. Their moves should be discouraged. The government must issue a policy and deployment of a long distance academic solution that does not discriminate between private or public schools.

Public Transportation
City Transportation Authorities must expand bus coverage routes to include shuttle buses. In a lock down, essential duty staff and workers still need transportation. To make it functional and efficient for need based transportation, mobile apps should be launched that can collect data on ridership and match schedules to those routes.

Private bus transportation operators should not be allowed to operate during a pandemic lock down. Interstate luxurious buses operators must not run schedules.

Taxis and rideshare operators must operate charter trips only, no add-drop.

Produce, Meat & Fish Markets.
Give alternate days for "licensed" stall operators to open. Example: odd-numbered stalls open on Mon and Thur, even-numbered stalls open on Tue and Fri.

Buka, Restaurants, Beer Parlour
Deploy mobile apps for online and phone ordering. No dine-in! Ready-to-go-meals only!

Worship, Priest Service (marriage, birth/death)
Worship and devotion is an individual obligation. Weekly congregation serves as a communal gathering to bond and reaffirm service commitments for the community. A person that lives in Bariga but worships in Surulere is no longer bonding with community. He/she is going to somebody else's community for bonding and service. This is counter to the spirit of congregational prayer and it is the reality of our weekly worship service now. Congregational worship has therefore departed from its meaningful service and function in the community. It cannot be regarded as an essential service. The essential part of worship is individual, it is private and under lock down it is not affected.

In the case of cultural rites for marriage, birth and death, the service of a priest physically is a must. Crowd and participation must be reduced to the barest minimum and immediate family, relatives and witnesses at such functions is sufficient.

Strategies and developments for these ideas will need some resources but energy and focus must be dedicated to them and their validity "tested" to baseline the Cause. The outcomes of tests serve as Effects needed to stipulate and manage society should another covid hit in near future.

Listen to me, you will be better served pursuing Biafra and will achieve it much sooner than wasting your energy on becoming president, which you cannot achieve in another thirty two years.

Ipob, Massob, Bim, Bzm....all are pro-Biafra but yet antagonize and compete and sabotage each other's efforts.

Kanu is going around the world proving to international observers that Biafra is not marginalized nor oppressed. How does he expect international support when you harrased President of your country and promise to flog him on the soilf of another Sovereingty? Not only did he insult Buhari on international arena, he also disrespected China, he disrespected Germany by beating Ekweremadu, he disrespected South Africa and as well US by threatening to seize Buhari and deal with him. Many of these countries have laws that prohibit use of threat against any person or using any motive to harm them. So while looking for Biafra you are violating international rules and making a f00l of yourself to the people you are asking to support your cause. Who does thathuh

We keep telling these girls and they wont listen....STOP REVEALING YOURSELF AND LOCATION ON SOCIAL MEDIA.

There is no police in Nigeria. We have authorized government thugs, not police.

I guarantee you that Friday Akpan has been arrested before and very recently before this atrocity. Infact, there is no guarantee that he wont be released now.

We release hardcore terrorists back into society. We release bandits back into society. We don't even bother to arrest fulani herdsmen, however many lives they wipe out.

Anyone relying on police for security is a f00l.

Ladies, you are your own police! Come up with personal safety guide for yourself. Shield yourself away from too much provocative contact with public.....whether on the city street or on the social media pages.

I see some of you on social media and with enough info that gives away your personal info and even location.

There are apps that can reveal the gps coordinates where your picture was taken. Most girls take pictures around their comfort environment. What else does a criminal need to pick you up after you told him where you are? It aggravates the issue when you dress and appear with a "come get me" sexytude!

We know you have right to dress anyway you like. Cool! You also have a right to live. Make damn sure your right to live takes priority over your right to dress anyhow you want.

East had its own export harbour at Brass. This was where exports from East were shipped.

Lagos was export point for the Colony and hinterland.

In 1898 and 99, there was nothing called Southern Nigeria or regional government.

We had the Colony, the hinterland.
There was palm oil/palm kernel and rubber in Lagos and as well hinterland.

These were not products from East. Remember no rail no road connecting to East. So how would they transport palmoil and kernel from East to go West?

Eastern crops and commodities shipped out of Oil Rivers. The "oil" stood for palm oil, not crude oil.....crude was not yet discovered.

In Igboland respect is earned but given on the basis of just been a leader "for mouth" or even your age, you're only recognized based on merit and solid achievements regardless of your age. We are not like some people that have egregiously sold and donated their collective brains, destinies, and futures to one frog eyed midget in Lagos - who in turn has graciously tucked away the gross worth of their entire ethnicity into his agbada.

Little wonder why even in these pandemic crisis, we have seen which regions have fared better in dealing with the situations. While some regions have recoursed to fighting over loafs of bread and garri, along with resorting to thuggery and crime... their brothers up North haven't fared any better either with deaths and hunger ravaging them. Only the East has fared well considerably, and that's because single individuals have taken it upon themselves to donate massively to the welfare of their respective communities as numerous threads here have proved. We don't have to wait for some Jagaban who doesn't even care if we starve to death or not, or some Mallam to come to our aide.
