The head of states powers are limited under Regionalism. Real power lay in the Regions. That's why Gowon could not remove Ojukwu as military Governor of the Eastern Region even though Ojukwu did not recognize Gowon as head of state. Gowon who was parading himself as head of state had to meet Ojukwu in Aburi Ghana for peace talks

In reality, Gowon had no powers as head of state and the Eastern Region did not recognize him.

That's why only a fool will believe that Gowon who was not recognized by the Eastern Region and Ojukwu, as head of state, could order the release of anyone in the East.

But the most surprising thing about all this is that despite all the powers that the Regions enjoyed under Regionalism, when Gowon abolished the Regions, only the Eastern Region had the guts to say no

When it was clear that Gowon and his Northern goons were out to abolish Regionalism in other to create states and perpetuate 'divide and rule', everyone except the Eastern Region said no.

Yorubas and the Niger Delta today ask for restructuring. But when it was time to join Ojukwu and stop the North from Balkanising the Regions and dominating everyone, they joined the North to fight Ojukwu.

In the face of divide and rule, oppression, slavery and domination by the North, they readily accepted slavery when Ojukwu was fighting for the freedom of his people

Today they are begging the North for the same powers that they helped the North to fight to take away from Ojukwu and his people.

Ojukwu was already showing cowardice even before war. After Ironsi was killed Ojukwu thought he would be next. He was afraid to show face at SMC meetings. He refused to meet anywhere beyond Iboland.

Murtala said if Ojukwu would not come to Lagos and meet he would go to Enugu and meet Ojukwu there. When Ojukwu heard Murtala was coming to town he disappeared for some days no one knew his whereabout and did not come out until he received word that Murtala in fact had not left Lagos.

I even have the video where Gowon convened the national conference in Lagos in September 13th, 1966 with all the regions represented. He was trying to ask the way forward from Nigerians and what mode of government system we wish to practice. How was he be able to convey that conference without him having control over Calabar prison a month earlier.

There are many records of history like this that we need to debunk.

Things like -
Ojukwu's father was Chairman of Lagos Stock Exchange.
We have not found record that supports it.

Ojukwu father bankrolled World War, we have not found rwcorda to support it.

Ojukwu was first rolls royce owner and the Queen came on visit to Nigeria because of him. That she was his guest.
There is no record to prove it.

That Olaudah Equinao was an Iboman.
There is no record to prove it.

There are many more Ibo claims to be scrutinized and inspected for its validity.

The order from the Supreme Commander trumps and overrules any other standing regional order. If it wasnt Ironsi's decree 34 would have been meaningless and void.

About a week ago I went visit my sister at her home and met her with her friends 10 year old daughter who was also visiting. When I asked the girl where she was from she said she is a "Delta Igbo" from Ibuzo in Delta state. I had to tell the girl that Ibuzo was just the short form of "Igbo bi n'uzo" which translates as "Igbos who live along the road". It struck me that the younger generation of Igbos indigenous to Delta state now call themselves "Delta Igbos" as if this is an actual ethnic group. It's almost like me saying that I'm "Anambra Igbo" or calling calling Emeka Ihedioha an "Imo Igbo"

The Governor of Delta State happens to be an Igbo man. I think that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa should do something to halt this trend of of people starting to believe theres an ethnic group called "Delta Igbo", no such thing exists, Igbo is Igbo. Ifeanyi Okowa should make a proclamation or a public utterance reminding indigenous Igbos of Delta state that the appellation "Delta" is just for geographical convenience and not an actual ethnic name. If this is allowed to continue, in another 50 years, these people will start calling themselves "Deltans"

The bolded suggests Igbo were not indigeneous to that area.
