I believe you brushed the surface and rubbished people's opposition to the issue out of lack of understanding. I will break it down for you in case no one has. 1. Economic Management Team was supervised by VP and gives periodic report to the President before each FEC meeting. The imperatives of economic agenda and policies are tasked to the EMT through Office of VP. So you can see there is a two-way exchange, first they take an action item for task, they bring it back in a report and recommendation. This is for the nation, not for LG or State...but for the Sovereingty. The President discussed his intention to scrap it with Kyari but never with VP, the man who oversees the function and staff of EMT. The VP learnt through a memo that EMT is no longer needed. That's an insult and show of mistrust for the office of his deputy. If he has lost trust in his deputy he is likely to divert govt business and responsibilities away from the VP and delegate it elsewhere. Hence the redirection of Ministers to come through Kyari to see him. That was not the only act done. He also instructed the AGF Malami to supervise SPIP which was taken from Obono Obla. In addition, Malami instructed all Ministers that they cannot issue contract without first getting his review. These acts are rape of the constitution and a hostile position that will poison the Executive Office. Everyone will now have to watch his back for fear of unknown....including the President himself. Thats not good for where the country is. 2. President created Economic Advisory Council outside of VP knowledge or input. For a population of 170million economy is a big factor of our daily lives. The President took a unitary action that did not include inputs from the EMT team that had served as his economic consultants for over 4yrs. A cordial relationship between the two offices should have given a heads up down the chain of command and alert the VP to what will happen with his EMT. President did not even call VP and break the news to him verbally, no...he sent a memo! The distance and coldness is deeper and more chilling than what is out in public. In addition, President then announced in memo, not face to face discussion....that his VP's approval right over services under his office has been withdrawn and he must now obtain approval from President on any marching order to them. So let us ask questions - a - If President did not see his VP face to face in all of this...and the VP only got to know of them through memo, if the VP wants to see the President can that happen, or does he have to see Kyari instead? b - can he see the President one on one....or that Kyari has to be in attendance in their meeting as well? c - if he falls sick again does he hand over to the VP he doesn't trust....or is he going to hand over to the trusted Kyari? I want Yoruba Leaders to take this abuse and insult as a finale...the full stop! From now forward it's ZERO tolerance. Yoruba will not only dig ourselves out of this rubbish...we will extricate completely from Nigeria. |
Wow, shivers!! Its getting cold in NY already. ![]() |
FarahAideed:Ordinarily such a topic should be open to all for discussion. My awareness of political contributors from Eastside is not a favorable one. You whine and complain of hindsight when the need is for a forward-facing input. Your whine, since 2015, has expired. I will continue to narrow serious issues that need deep political input to those who are thoughtful and intellectually rooted to give views in pros and cons, not with a resignation of fated past. |
Begin an immediate chatter online and let's raise the volume in all social media. Prof. Banji Akintoye should call a war-room meeting of Yoruba leaders and get consensus. An attack on VP Osinbajo is a repeat of Abacha attack on Diya. An attack on VP Osinbajo is a deliberate attempt and calculation for North to succeed itself in 2023....or to stage handover to a pro-North military rule. Under that arrangement land use decree, which the Executive cannot unilaterally enforce, will be enforceable under the guns to free up land anywhere for ruga. An attack on VP Osinbajo is an attack on Yoruba and will not stop just there. Other Yorubas, in appointment and as well elected, will also be targeted. There is power in numbers. An attack on Osinbajo should be seen as attack on Yorubas in government, whether appointed or elected. Hence Prof. Akintoye should monitor events and armed with a consensus of Yoruba Leaders across parties and religion, be ready to recall all Yorubas in Government (appointees and elected officers). If Northerners have difficulty respecting a Constitution, let us do a walk out of Nigeria completely, forget about restructuring, and begin a nation state of our own design and destiny. May the reign of Oduduwa continue to live! |
PureFace1:If all the roofs in Ibadan were replaced with modern tiles. Omo ibo will look at it and next day he will coin a new negative to stamp on the city. I dont think you have psychoanalyzed ibo and see thoroughly who he is mentally. Most times ibo give hints about his own inferiority and weakness in the way he labels others. If you look in his labeling, seek an opposite to it....now use that opposite as keyword to do a search on "igbo", "ibo", "eebo" , "Igbo", "eybo", "omo ibo", "okoro" and so on... Results will pop up. There, in news and image, you will find his hidden dirts. Particularly things written about him by colonialists and missionaries are very racist but factual. |
Federal Government plans to establish an agency that would be in charge of artificial intelligence and robotics. We already have them. They are called ipobs!

Aremo Segun Oniru, .....with Ooni of Ife and Akinsiku of Lagos
|
May his soul rest in peace! He will definitely enter into EYO register. This is one of the most respected Kings that developed and grew Lagos, and beside being of indigeneous ruling house, his grandfather, Yesufu Abiodun Oniru was also of the Akinsemoyin dynasty. We give glory to God for Baba's life! He was a father to all. |
this historic structure that has been in existence since 1936 in honor of the first resident and travel Commissioner of interior Yoruba land Captain Bower.Look at the condition of the tower...standing since 1936! As Im typing to you this moment there are roads in Yorubaland that were built by Western Nigerian Government under Awolowo's AG, till present time they stand in good condition, only needing resurfacing periodically but the structure has kept its integrity over the decades. Look at the House of Chiefs in Ibadan, Mapo Hall, Cocoa House..... Compare them with structures built decades afterward, Independence Building, NITEL Tower, both at TBS in Lagos. Force Headquarters, Moloney, Lion Building at Ajele....they are all rotted and qualified for gutting and renovation. How is Yoruba able to maintain strructures and it lasts for many decades but Federal Government is incapable of maintaing any structure past one decade? It points to a value system. In an unrelated topic there was picture of an Alaafin that ruled in 1905 and the background wall of his palace was shown in the picture. That palace and the walls are still standing till today...preserved as historic after a new Palace was built to accomodate modernity. The Yoruba value system is what has been greatly trampled and tarnished by our inclusion in a unitary system. It is our grievance with Nigeria. Our value system is top notch and cannot be matched, we do not seek a unity in principles and cultures that are beneath us in civilization and development. |
May his soul rest in peace |
Midastorch:Go and read history of Itsekiri. They are Yoruba. Ijebu settled where we call Itsekiri today. The ancestors of Itsekiri were Ijebu. |
This guy in culture section is more articulate and credible in his act to decipher the meaning of YORUBA. Go to link and read his presentation. He in fact featured me on the posts. ![]() https://www.nairaland.com/4943703/r--b-cult-sustainer-nourisher-mankind#74508530 |
Its ok for him to express opinion about the city. He did notjing wrong. His expectation of New York ahead of his visit must have been that of a gold paved street. He did not expect to see waste on street, or that it would smell different from Abuja. He was shocked and dissapointed when he saw litters of can and papers on street and the smell was pungent. Each city anywhere in the world has its own peculiar smell. If Mr. Sunday was walking street after hours its normal to see litters. Before day break those litters are gone when city workers come in with street sweepers and clean up before businesses and tourists come out for activities. New York, and generally America is a clean place to live. Cities and Municipalities get sued for dirty environment. The cities usually have laws against littering and waste baskets are usually at spots on streets. New York has heavy tourist traffic also and wherever you have heavy population there is bound to be plenty waste. I wonder how he would see and write about it if he went out early this morning....or tomorrow morning. He should not be condemned for his input but should be encouraged to revisit those streets at appropriate hours. |
Is there anything you dont have video for? I pity those that click your link to watch video. |
Ezeife, Ibo is not getting President in 2023. Please go ahead and get ipob membership card. ![]() |
watch....Akeredolu go compensate those fulani now. They have taken over his state and made him look helpless. Ordinary miyetti allah, a trade union, and not the governor, dictates how fulani will be treated in that state..... |
lordlugards:Who is begging for united south. Dude stop soliciting yourself. Politics is a swing....it rocks forward, it rocks backward. It swings up in your favor...it swings down against you. To take a politics that swings in favor to the other side as a defeat or interpretation of loss is indicative of lack of knowledge in the political landscape. Politics does not stand still in one flavor and in one wing...it will oscillate. Yoruba is very confident of itself even when the tide swings against us. We know both sides of the coin very well....ruling and opposition government! |
Gbajabiamila has been in Assembly long enough that his persona alone should have its own command by now, and when he asks for something to be done, it should not take confrontation like this to get done. Politics is game. He just lost his strength when he says he will report them to Buhari. Thats weakness! House of Reps is People's House. He has authority to summon Service Chiefs but it has to be done with diplomacy and tact. He should not come out and announce he is summoning them, they will disgrace him publicly. Who are you to summon soldier in Africa? Our development is not at that level yet where civilians have power over military like they do in US. It might be on paper in our Constitution but in practice it wont happen. Next time send delegates ahead to tell them the House is ready to partner and support their honorable duties in the war effort but you don't know how to do it without hearing directly from their own mouth. The full House is therefore inviting them for this honor to get input so their priorities can be scheduled for speedy attainment. Simple! After getting their nod to honor the invitation. The Speaker can now call media briefing and say "I have the honor to let Nigerians know as we promised you, that this Assembly will partner with government and get work done. I asked and secured agreement from our amiable Defense and Security Chiefs to honor our invitation for a working relationship on security. They have made tremendous sacrifice to our Nation, we acknowledge and are proud of them. We are aware they have challenges and would like to hear from them directly what we can do in our capacity as Legislature to assist in removing those barriers that impede progress. I take this opportunity ro thank our Security Chiefs ahead of this meeting and working relationship to be held soon." If Speaker did this their head go swell and body go sweet them. .....even if he call Abacha to rise from grave with such tact sef and he go happen. Abi na lie? ![]() |
So the herdsmen were warned to get away from the sacred ground and they refused. They are used to trampling over people land with no consequence. I hope they learn from this. Stay away from sacred grounds in Yorubaland. |
salford1:Fulani herd through bushes and forest and done so for centuries, by now they ought to know what poisoned leaves are. Has the herdsman told you his cows were poisoned? What he reported to monarch is they were struck by lightning. So is he confused, cant differentiate between lightning and poison leaves? |
lx3as:Ase Edumare! |
etinanguy:You cant believe your eyes ehh? ![]() You just dont believe this is possible achievement for blackman. Yoruba had always been a pioneer and a fore civilization. Lugard destroyed our repute by joining us with you forest people who were taken out of banana leaves and clothed in oversized second hand european shirt your white master no longer needed. ![]() Have you ever seen such a palace as you see in this picture before in your life? I dont even think its in use anymore sef....its probably in preservation now. Believe us when we say Yoruba is a superior civilization than any in Nigeria. |
