I doubt the first pic was taken between 1905-1911. Look at the modern day smooth concrete design wall. For your information am an architect who deals with vintage designs and i can categorically say that, this pic was taken from 1949 upward. This design came up after the end of second world war and it was the Germans architects that brought up this design and it became prominent in the 1950s.

Guy, c'mon!
America has been erecting buildings with tiled surface since 1800s. They have old buildings with facade just like we see here in the palace. Most old federal buildings in Washington DC built in mid 1800s had this architecture.

To my people and brothers in Epe I salute!

I have question regarding Olu's totem - Eshilokun I.

OlogunKutere gave birth to Eshilokun
Eshilokun gave birth to Kosoko
Kosoko founded the Olu Epe dynasty.

Does Olu have right of ascendancy to Eshilokun? If so please explain.

regardless re you sure about this?
My own greatgrandmother, Ashake, ( may her loving soul rest in peace) is buried in a well preserved underground crypt. I was little when she died but old enough that I had awareness of her and the memorable times I spent in her loving care. The crypt she lies in holds her own parents and grandparents....who were the first settlers on the coastal village. Standing at the crypt you can see the beach and the ocean. There are two mysteries to the crypt itself and then the bodies in it.

1. Any underground work on a beach settlement will be in water usually at 3 or 4 feet deep. This is why beach settlements dont dig wells because salt water will fill the well.

So how was it possible to retain the walls of a crypt 6feet under at a beach village? There is a technique and a science to it.

2. How was it possible to preserve bodies hundred years old under ground in an accessible crypt? There is also a technique and science to this. It's an ancient knowledge mostly lost.

What Ooni is talking about mummification exists in Yorubaland.

Those who ever visited graves in Lagos Island will attest that their graves and crypts are raised above ground level. This is because waterbed is high (very close to surface) and if you dig to bury body underground you will hit water. Given, Lagos Island is sorrounded by fresh water. From history, the only cemetry that ever had underground burial was a place called "Teku" (...that's Campos). Lagos City Council finally decommissioned and transferred bodies out for health reasons and concern for the living.

The connection between Ife mummification and Egypt mummification will open pages into the history of IFE and the direction of exchange and migration.

Were Yoruba originally at Ife, then left out to Afro Asia, and then after many centuries of sojourn returned home back to Yorubaland....or was Ife the domain and capital of a peer pre-existing civilization which was settled and occupied by migrant Yoruba from an Afro Asian origin?

Guy, stop mixing Yoruba and Igbo in discussion about history. This your attachee is to find a credible past for Igbo. Igbo has never had a civilization. We cant see anything of a civilized past in Igbo. Stop attaching them to us. Let Igbo speak for its own civilization without a mention of Yoruba.

In fact you should be attaching to Igala, not Yoruba.

There is nothing uncivilized about showing body.

Western society are hypocrites.

They forbid polygamy but you can have sidechicks, just dont get caught.

They forbid "free" nudity but issue license to places that show "paid" nudity.

You will go to jail for kicking animal but you can put bullet in fellow human and claim insanity or self defense and walk free.

If you are caught with a 20oz bottlefull of weed, maybe for personal use...you get 6months in jail. If you are caught with weed teaspoonfull you are a distributor, 6years behind bars.

A woman can wear micro mini and show underwear sef...its her fuckng choice, none of your business.....but if you are overheard commenting about how youd love to rip those panties....ahhh, sexual harrassment, violation of privacy. Sexual offender!

There is more to it than a lighting strike, the plants must have been poisoned by the 8ters. Lastly why do you need Sango god of lighting to fix Nigeria ?. Where were the gods when the European Christians came with Christ to enslaved the Africans to Sugar plantations in USA ?. Was Sango god of lightning sleeping or was on vacation ?.
God bless Nigeria
If we had the knowledge of writing ahead of whiteman books will fill library shelf with the hardships suffered by whitemen. Many of them died or walked into forest and never found. They hid their own suffering from us in order to convince us that our death was result of unbelief and Jesus will redeem any believer that accepted him. They suffered great illness, madness, disease and even leprosy and many died of dysentry.

Nwa teacher,, it is thunder that strikes.. lightning is the light that shines before thunder sound fires
Its not one without the other. Actually all four elements are involved -
Water - which triggers the spark
Fire - which strikes with heat energy
Air - that act as conductor for energy
Earth - that grounds and kill it

I as an Igbo man can't imagine me loosing all my business in one night.

To me the Ondo state government has to compensate the Fulani man, they could have either barricaded the area or put up a caveat emptor sign
When flood destroy market does government compensate?

Its called act of nature. The wisdom is to have insurance. Dos the owner of these cows have insurance against their perish by accident? More than likely not.
