The question should be what have you done for the igbos? At least they contribute to Lagos economy (of which you may deny it if you wish). If igbos are asking for a position it means they believe they have the number to seek such same way Hausa community will want someone to represent them.

The embattled Governor of Imo state Governor Rochas Okorocha has said that “the problem with our country Nigeria is that they don’t understand the people called Igbo. This statement was made as President Muhammadu Buhari praised the efforts of traditional rulers in the country over their role during and after the 2019 elections, adding that the peace that existed could not be over-emphasized as a result of the functions the traditional rulers performed.

In a petition to the Lagos House of Assembly and Ministry of Local Government and Community Affairs, the groups noted that the Babaloja of Ladipo market, Alhaji Oladotun Abibu-Oki, was being unnecessarily harassed and intimidated by a rival association established by non-indigenes.

The petition dated April 24, reads: "We appeal to the Lagos House of Assembly to come to our aid in terms of giving recognition to the Babaloja of Ladipo General Market in person of Alhaji Oladotun Abibu-Oki, who was installed by the late Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji on December 22, 2011."

The petitioners said Abibu-Oki had not been able to function well since his installation due to the negative activities of members of a rival body.

They said the rival body and their thugs have violently attacked, assaulted and humiliated the Babaloja, his staff, property, warehouse and Yoruba traders in the market on several occasions.

Lokoja belongs to the Hausas and the Nipes. The Falele name you are talking about means Rock in hausa. Other streets such as kabawa was dominated by fishermen from Kebbi, Madabo was street of the scholars. There is another Madabo in kano,. Unguwan yashi means sand street in hausa. Pati is mountain in Nupe. The Paramount ruler of Lokoja is a hausa man addressed as the Maigari (owner) of Lokoja. Even the name Lokoja is a hausa name like Abuja. The Hausas in Lokoja were chased out of their enclaves in North during Jihad. They escaped and settled South, some were exiled by new Fulani rulers. They were given comfort and abode by the Oworos.

There is an Olu of Iworo and is the ruler over indigenes. Maigari only rules the settler quarters.

My family have over 100 years history of living in Lokoja, so I know its history very well.

There are two leaderships in Lokoja. The maigari is on the Hausa side and they rule over the Nupe, both are settlers. There is Olu of Iworo, no one rules above him, he is over the aborigenes.

You cant be in Lokoja 100yrs and not know this, unless you are fake.
