Let the gateman sell the water. Don't ask for account of how much he is making from it because he will use the money to fuel the gen which keeps the borehole running.

the constant use of the borehole is the best way to ensure it's working optimally.

If you observe, companies making table water don't usually have issues with their borehole due to the constant pumping of water.
