Reading thia forum, It's unfortunate the average Nigerians are stupid enough to view things through their political party and tribal bias. Very odd.

my brother good write up but why did buhari avoid debate all thru. The best and unbiased TV station in Nigeria channels TV also organised but he ran away.

well, its not necessary any longer.I advise APC to face the task ahead rather than chase shadows.they are giving excuses now.sai buhari.
I wasn't aware of this, and I must say It's unfortunate Buhari rejected the offer. Again, the power is with the citizens. Obama or David Cameron can't reject a pre election debate, as there will be too much outcry with potential consequences in election. Most Nigerians love to talk without taking actions.

Manners indeed.. You must reply him now.

Listen, I support whoever is going to make Nigeria better and not a particular party or tribe, unlike you lots.
As a manager and a quant trader of a financial firm, I am responsible for steering the company as well as ensuring the company hit its target. Therefore, In case of any failure my head will be the first to go, before any underperforming employee.
In that context, Jonathan was a disaster and so were a lot of APC governors. But at the end of the day, when it's all said and done you have to say the buck stops with Jonathan(Even more so for a centralised system as Naija). If I had the chance, I would've voted against Jonathan and any other failed governors, irrespective of their political party.
Politics is a dirty game of survival, and it's your responsibilities as citizens, to weed out the rubbish ones. So don't blame the 'failed' APC politicians for blaming Jonathan, as you guys should have voted them out as well.
APC won because they did or say what they had to do, as opposed to PDP. Anyways, it's a welcome development when the president is being blamed for his inaction and misjudgement.

If you had brain in your skull u will post something more sensible

The APC do not have the moral right to call accuse GEJ of anything as long as they have the likes of Obasanjo and Atiku who didn't do anything worthwhile in his 8 years

He couldn't even privatise NEPA, he was just changing their name

Who spent $16billion on power without any increase in watts

Who ran the petroeum ministry for 8 years withouyt any forensic audit

He claim to be a farmer yet the minister of agric under GEJ out did him

Obasanjo never built a university in his 8 years including Atiku but now they own their private Universities; but GEJ buillt 12 under 6 years

The clueless president at least started the engines of the trains in Nigeria, something OBJ and Atiku couldn't do

Was it not here that Nairalanders and many youths won YOUWIN grants for their business

I could go on and on but u are damn too insincere to think straight

This man spent 5 years fighting boko haram which the north sponsored all through and he still made some remarkable achievements

Its the time the APC show what they are made of and we can see its trash already by the "collect and spend" mentalty they have shown in their bankrupt states, yet they blame it on GEJ
Hey kid, when you are more polite I might honour you with a reply. Sort of gives an insight into your low emotional intelligence.

Well as long as he is still the president of Nigeria, he should be accountable for all the mess he has created. He seems a nice guy , but an incompetent president.
In fact , it is high time presidential and VP candidates start doing pre election debate like most other countries are doing, so that Nigeria can weed out the ones out of their depth.
Most Nigerians are really smart and can see through a lot of b.s.

Messi has a weak side like all human footballers and tis on his right foot..the trick is he always couch it on a miasma of footwork and dazzling runs just like Robben.Boateng was absolutely foolish going down like he was shot....The least he could have done was follow him up after the dribble to pressure him into a tame or a quick punt at Nuer just like Alves did in the first half..but no.He fell like a pack of cards and messi had all the whole time to lob Neuer..what an embarrassement.
You make sense small. I also felt Boateng could have done more to pressure messi at least. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

kinibigdeal:
SEA, I have kept these stories for a long time but I think today it is worth sharing some of them with you. It's true that family matters should be solved internally and not in public but I am doing this so that hopefully all families can learn from what happened in mine. Also keep in mind that none of this is about money.

At the age of 17, with my first wages as a footballer, I built a house for my family and made sure they are safe. As you all know, I have received the trophy of African Player of the Year in 2008. I also brought my mother on stage with me to thank her for everything. In that same year, I brought her to London for various medical check ups. When my daughter was born, we contacted my mum to inform her but she immediately hung up the phone and didn't wanna know hear about it. Reading your recent comments, some people said my family and I should consult T.B Joshua. In 2013, I gave my mother money so she could consult him in Nigeria. She was supposed to stay for 1 week; but 2 days into her stay, I received a call saying she left. Apart from all that l also gave my mother a great amount of money to start a business of cookies and different items. Naturally, I allowed them to put my name and picture on them so they can sell more. What else can a son do in his power to support his family?

A couple years ago, I bought a house in East Lagon (Ghana) for $1.2 million. I found it normal to let my older sister, Yabo Adebayor stay in that house. I also allowed my half brother (Daniel) to stay in the same house. A few months later, I was on vacation and decided to go to that house. At my surprise, I saw many cars in the driveway. In fact, my sister decided to rent out the house without me knowing. She also kicked Daniel out of that house. Note that the house had about 15 rooms. When I called her and asked for explanation, she took about 30 minutes to abuse and insult me over the phone. I called my mother to explain the situation and she did the same as my sister. This same sister says I am ungrateful. Ask her about the car she is driving or anything she is selling today?

My brother Kola Adebayor, has now been in Germany for 25 years. He travelled back home about 4 times, at my expense. I fully cover the cost of his children's education. When I was in Monaco, he came to me and asked for money to start a business. Only God knows how much I gave him. Where is that business today?
When our brother Peter passed away, I sent Kola a great amount of money so he could fly back home. He never showed up at the burial. And today that same brother (Kola) is telling people that I am involved in Peter's death. How? He is the same brother who went and told inaccurate stories about our family to "The Sun" in other to take some money. They also sent a letter to my Club when I was in Madrid so I could get fired.

When I was in Monaco I thought it would be good to have a family of footballers. So I made sure my brother Rotimi gets into a football academy in France. Within a few months; out of 27 players, he stole 21 phones.

I would not say any anything about my brother Peter Adebayor because he is not here today. May his soul rest in peace.

My sister Lucia Adebayor keeps telling people that my dad told me to bring her to Europe. But what would be the purpose to bring her to Europe ? Everyone is here for a reason.

I was in Ghana when I received the news about my brother Peter being seriously ill. I drove the fastest I could to Togo in order to meet him and help. When I arrived, my mother said I could not see him and I should just give the money and she would solve everything. Only God knows how much I gave her that day. People are saying I didn't do anything to save my brother, Peter. Am I a fool to drive 2 hours to Togo for nothing?

I organized a meeting in 2005 to solve our family issues. When I asked them about their opinion, they said I should build each family member a house and give each of them a monthly wage.
Today I am still alive and they have already shared all my goods, just in case I die.
For all these reasons, it took very long for me to set up my foundation in Africa. Every time I try to help the people in need, they had to question me and all of them thought it was a bad idea.

If I am writing this, the main purpose is not to expose my family members. I just want other African families to learn from this. Thank you.

see bold..with that statement, i think you better go back and review your logic and understanding of
the economy....and if you come up with the argument that western countries ie Europe and America
do not subsidy that you better think twice...Grants to Businesses, Tax Breaks, Tax Holidays, Tax Credits
etc and 100's of other Govt Stop Gap Credits/Grants and Public Fiscal Measures to
Businesses and Consumers
in the UK, France, USA = subsidies for Fuel, Food, Clothing etc...
Every time on Nl people tends to misread my statements which often end up in a pendantic arguments.
There is nowhere on my post, that says western countries don't provide aids. You don't need to be an Economist to know that subsidy is used as a form of easing measure, to primarily boost consumer spending. Historically speaking, I am sure the subsidies were put in place, when fuel were relatively expensive to lower the burden on the consumers(A form of leverage). With the crash in oil prices and revenue, I am sure you also know the implication is a deadweight loss, which is the point subsidies need to be reduced.
Unless you can argue Nigeria doesn't have a deadweight loss, then I fail to see your logic behind the continuation of subsidies. All this will, create is a market distortion and an overall reduction in social welfare.
Of course this shouldn't translate to an overall reduction in subsidies for other sectors that can benefit the economy. I.e Tax break for small businesses...
I might not be an Economist, but I wouldn't have been a quants trader without having a decent 101 of Economics.

what information do you have that is classified? you mean apple would come to Nigeria to set up a plant? do you know in China a fake apple headquarters was busted? have you seen the Chinese range Rover sport? there are serious intellectual property issues apple faces around the world so that should be the major reason. urs part of the rule of law. if pirates run around with ke products and the police does nothing then ts a serious issue. for tour information electricity is on the concurrent lists and states in Nigeria can generate theirs however there's a proviso that they must aso feed the National grid. this are some of the issues the national assembly needs to look at. generate your electricity ad keep it not share it. those are the key issues. electricity generation is too too complex for buhari to understand and if he's not careful bad eggs in hid government would use it to scam him like they did to obasanjo. if he works on security the rule if law ad stability of government policies every other thing would follow. foreign investors aren't small people. these guys are richer than a lot if Africa governments! do you now how much fine Microsoft paid the EU in 2004? avout a billion euros! meanwhile Nigeria is borrowing to pa salaries! so forget it. these guys hae the cash to generate electricity in Nigeria to do their business and still make huge profits.

Government of borrow borrow. Idiotas!

For crying out loud, Nigeria is not the only county affected by the drop in crude price. Why is it that of all OPEC members (minus Venezuela and Libya with internal crisis), Nigeria is the only country whose currency and economy have been badly affected as a result of the oil drop?

The answer is simple: We have a very grossly irresponsible and shamelessly corrupt regime spearheaded by a man with PhD in looting.

What happened to all the billions of dollars earned when crude sold above $100 per barrel?

What happened to all the monies in the foreign reserves ($35 billion) GEJ met at the beginning of his administration?

What happened to the excess crude account which had $20 billion when he became president but now about $2 billion?

It's even more disheartening to note that this hopeless regime didn't improve Nigeria's values in the 5.5 years it has spent managing our affairs.

I have said it before that in a civil and sane society, the next destination for GEJ and many of his cohorts will be jail after May 29th.

Argentina, Venezuela, Nigeria, Libya and Pakistan. All these countries are almost as bad as Nigeria. Tje reason why Nigeria is amplifoed is because of tje unrest.
I am at work now and will give a detailed explanation later, but trust me they are having serious problem. Check the bonds of these countries on bloomberg, your eyes will water.
All of them have many things in common. One bombshell, wait for Japan to blow over.

Electricity did not stop them. There is no rule of law in Nigeria. do you know how the law works for businesses n China? A court in Lagos asked dstv to stop its price hike. it has refused to do so. now which sensible business would come to a country where people don't obey court orders? so if you are a foreign investor ad you come in and you have an issue with another business you take them to court say for intellectual property rights issues, you are not sure the other business would obey the judgement. that's a key issue. buhari needs to work on that and ensure no one flouts courts orders. its the job of the executive that is the police to enforce court orders. the court has done its job already. so u think apple with it intellectual property wealth would come to Nigeria where pirates run amok without any restraint? do you know t intellectual property issues apple is currently facing in China? Forget about electricity. buhari would get scammed like obasanjo if he focuses on that
How do you know Electricity did not stop them? I share most of your point, but I doubt you knew about this until I told you. This is my line of work, although I might not know much about Nigeria, I have first hand information to this case.

Wrong. Electricity isn't the biggest reason investors aren't coming. investors could generate electricity insofar they could make big profits. why hasn't MTN left Nigeria? what do you think they use to power their base stations? Investors aren't coming because the country is insecure security, there is also an absence of the rule of law and instability in government policies. provide 24 hour electricity today but let boko haram run gamut around the country and tell me which foreign investor would stay
I clearly said one of... I am not naive enough to call it the biggest reasons investors are not coming. Do you know in 2013, apple were considering moving their construction factory from China to Nigeria? Do you know what stopped them? Electricity, as they couldn't broker a deal with Siemens to build a renewable plant in Nigeria.

There are three key reasons I think investors are not coming:
1 High level of corruption-Same problem with Iran.
2 Civil unrest.
3 Electricity
