mutvy: Can you see the way Christians are abusing Muslims on Muslims 'thread? It is obvious that Christians, especially African Christians are clear enemies of Muslims and will continue to show their hatred toward us. I'm not surprised after all the winners of big brother naija always go to Church for Thanksgiving after engaging in porn. Christians and Immorality are like Tea and Sugar. You are still abusing them as well so you cant be surprised when it happens to you |

Hai! So when the baby is 20, he will be 34 As in you'll be in the same generation as your kids, pressing phone and eating shawarma. If its in Nigeria, maybe because of some unfortunate circumstance you can even end in the same NYSC camp Lol i can think of some advantages to it even though its too extreme I wonder how old the mother even is. She'll be looking the same as her child |

Ayomide11111: Thank you, but this is actually a general mistake anyone can make. Then why pinpointing at yoruba's accent as if you people too don't have your own comma. Wictcheew It cant be a general mistake, you people have that feature of your accent and it was relevant to the discussion When another person comes to ask "why did my teacher say "yellow" is pronounced "yerrow"" you can bring out Igbo comma You dont need to cover the truth all the time because of tribal wahala |

Jimbadly: I tell ya dear, it's very obvious it doesn't like what we say and perhaps it was programmed to block all proverbs. Can you imagine that this my 4th attempt at replying you with the proverbs and was banned on the previous 3 occasions. It was really frustrating. I think it might be best if I send the proverbs to your mail. I'd initially wanted to post them here so that other nairalanders might see them as well and learn from the proverbs. Alas, the tyrannical spambot has thwarted all my efforts.
How's your day going dear? Hope it's splendid so far? Lol mean spambot. I wonder what criteria it uses to ban people when it can't even ban all the stupid amoralities that people post on fp Yeah it's okay, and yours? |
Romance › Re: Why Do Ladies Prefer Tall Guys Than Short Guys by midnighter(f): 7:22pm On Oct 18, 2019 |
Evolutionary conditioning.
Being tall is a sign of healthy genes and a sign that the person is feeding well
Humans are programmed to look for signs of good health in a potential mate |

Manaan: What determines if H will take article a or an is the vowel that follows it. If the vowel is a long vowel, diphthong or triphthong, it will take article An. Also, if the consonant that follows the vowel is not voiced or a glide, it will take article AN. For example, in HOUR, the vowel in word rendered the H useless because the last sound/r/ is so silent. But in HOUSE, /hauz/ the H is pronounced because the sound/z/ that follows /au/ is very voiced. Most H words that take article have a very consonant. Like HONOUR, the sound /n/ in between is weak. Wow |

adamadwealthy: A wise man once said, "you can't win an ignorant man in any argument" The above quote synopsized my encounter with you on this platform.
I gave up on you sir the moment you said we are native speakers of the English language. Imagine a person arguing blindly for what he does not even know. I also rested my case when you blatantly said English language is our national language in Nigeria! Please use you Google search engine to help you differentiate between national language and official language. Have a wonderful time out. Thanks. Haha! Your own ignorance is astounding An official language can be a national language if you don't know. The two words are not mutually exclusive and they are used politically according to discretion. I think google should be your own best friend right now A native speaker of a language is someone who is raised in it...which we are! We are not meant to be, but we are. It's a shame that the white people captured us, but the past is the past Better accept it and stop dropping irrelevant linguistic jargon instead of reading the OP as a corrective post, which it is And you have a good evening too. |

People sometimes use "an" for the word "history"
"An historic occasion" but this is now frowned upon
Apart from that all other words where the "h" is pronounced must be introduced with "an"
So your teacher was wrong, don't mind her |
