I wish someone would make a thread or draw a simple diagram explaining the senate and houses so i could understand them because i can never follow it when im trying to read about it... i have tried wikipedia several times and i dont get it lol |
no, but it makes somebody super money ![]() |

its actually a court case between the injured and the owner of the (private) building- the burden of safety lies with him. it should be somewhere in the contract the tenants signed i dont get it- is it the government who should pay a fine for not demolishing on time (which is an offence) in which case the government has to get the exact department, worker and their superior who were assigned to monitor that building or was the owner supposed to demolish it? |
Lol he stole the mace? Actually its a traditional sign of rebellion to grab the mace, to show that you are unhappy with how issues are being handled and you feel you need to take a drastic action because you arent being listened to An MP in the UK picked the mace up, i think in protest of what is happening with Brexit If he was acting along those lines, then i see his point |
It looks quite distasteful at first that they would unveil this plane right after a major catastrophe, for which they are partly to blame. They didnt tell people that the software they installed needs specific training. And the software even had glitches sef But on balance, its still a business that has to keep its wheels turning. If they delay this release it will reduce their market value even more. and if people start losing jobs, even more people will die But its just so bad for those people in the crash. Those Ethiopians screaming with grief on the news |
Offpoint1:theres no emoji to express what i just felt reading this |
sweetrace:Thank you ![]() |
sweetrace:Im glad you combined that "rude girl" with "needs to be corrected". Her mother (or whoever) and the person filming didnt do well. We all know that children just say nonsense most of the time. Its hit and miss. When they say or do something and see it gets them a reward (attention or laughs), they keep doing it. She is a product of a particular environment and those adults are the ones encouraging the "uncouth" behaviour When we were little and someone did something for us, our guardians would ask as "what do you say?" and we knew the answer lolThey should have made a "Success says a big "Thank you" to everybody who helped her" video, and guided her on what to say (just giving us small hints of that fiery nature that made us love her), with her parents chipping in every now and then. Then, when she goes to secondary school or writes jamb or has some other landmark, be giving us updates. Bang, bang, finish. Not to be posting every little thing a baby says. Thats ridiculous If they showed us the stuff we said when we were kids, we would burn the footage. Parents and family, people who care, prefer to display the best side of their loved ones |
SEGLIZ:We have some of it down south, but not to the same extent. In fact, we actually have a problem with pastors prioritising teachings about wealth -prosperity gospel- so sometimes we even do the direct opposite i would say people in the western world are freer to pursue ambition because they generally arent held back by the stuff that messes us up here like school fees, no light, no water and all those things. Youre right that the fight against poverty makes us sit up. But it shouldnt turn one into an animal. Our politicians who have won this fight, do you see how irrationally they are behaving? Because they cant bear to go back down a notch. And when you look into their pasts, they were even the most idealistic and optimistic ones |
AntiBrutus:Yeah. A trait like this -stubbornness or hard-headedness- has its good and bad sides. Since shes a child, she needs some guidance on how best to utilise it. Ground-breaking people, especially women, sometimes need to be "impolite" to make a way Actually that video you watched is the fault of the poster, who i presume is an adult. They should have guessed that it wouldnt have shown the baby in the best light. But the poster is also making their own money by generating traffic, so maybe they didnt consider that I wish her the best anyway. At least her fiery nature has gotten her an education. The other "trained" children who couldnt pay, that went home quietly as they were "supposed" to are still looking for their fees, arent they? |
So people are taking her musings as rudeness. I never knew Maybe because shes using pidgin and its sounding harsh. And because she is angry and frustrated rather than sad. Thereby making her look stubborn But then, would it have elicited the same national buzz if she had been meek and mild, as most little girls are (or how we feel they should be)? If you kick against a bad system using unorthodox means, is it still an indiscretion? Or just a means to an end Interesting |
wetin concern church with light bad governance affects all aspects of life sorry about that... |
Thrill seekers... Unfortunately a married woman who cheats faces 100x the punishment of a man.. they will still catch them doing it in the dirty, dilapidated nysc camps where a snake can bite the two of you in the act..how much more in the mans matrimonial bed.. But it still wont prevent others from doing it..sorry for you if youre the one who is caught and shamed... |
Im sure shes having some kind of emotional issue because this wasnt necessary at all. She has appeared in films before, shes a graduate and her family is not lacking money. its just an erratic behaviour that has no logical rationale to support it the ex boyfriend and manager she was wailing about in the video, what did they do to her that was so grievous ![]() the general public she is addressing on instagram is not the problem. the problem is going home for easter and facing your parents and extended family. thats what really tests whether you regret an action or not cause the disappointment in their faces is too much to bear |
Etizz:the company who puts out the ad pays the owner of the handle |
Good, to counteract all the bad news we're hearing |
She needs punishment and strong counselling but they didnt need to burn her to death The pains of childlessness drove her to do what she never though she would, could or should Its not easy to be childless, much less in Nigeria because of the mockery |
Its quite difficult to die by slitting your wrists. This is more of a cry for help than a suicide attempt They should keep watch over her because growing up in this kind of family must be so confusing |
RealAdewole:Lol its just a monicker, there was no meaning attached to it |
Buhari is not poor by any stretch of the imagination but he probably has an austere and conservative lifestyle in accordance with his culture, military training and age/generation He probably doesnt lavish money on himself, hes not into flashy or elaborate wears and we can see that he doesnt eat much. I think thats what all this "Buhari is poor" stuff theyre feeding us is supposed to mean Its a shame that we cant appreciate him because he has led quite an extraordinary life. all the way from a small town in the north, rising through the military ranks, contesting so many times until he won, being ill for long and still coming back. Its not easy for a 70+ year old man We would be taking lessons and being inspired by him if he were not using our lives to play football ![]() |
PrecisionFx:So where do they come from then? Because thats what women have experienced as a result of gender inequality for so many years |
RealAdewole:Lol. Well, are you accusing me? Its a very serious allegation |
SEGLIZ:it has a spiritual benefit because its good to be content and have a peace of mind. but it leads them to be easily exploited because they feel that material things and physical comfort dont matter at all they matter, actually. maybe we in the south overestimate their importance but at least it helps us to strive for more their own, they feel a poor status or condition is their lot from God and they dont need to do anything about it. and the fact that they have produced the highest number of presidents, the constitution (i think?) is biased in their favour, their traditional rulers are balling and the place is still so messed up shows that the mindset has some drawbacks |
RealAdewole:What about it aroused your curiosity |
nwanyionitsha:Bargaining with someone from the north is an experience to be remembered you can say something outrageous and theyll still take it when i realised it i tried not to go too low because even you who got the deal will be feeling bad |
Toks2008:Sorry about it. There are still better days ahead Thank God for that lady though. Help is always near |
PrecisionFx:Yes. Then isnt that where insults, ill treatment, unfair legislation, mean cultural/traditional practices, loss of opportunity, lower quality of life all come from? |
Was wondering what could inspire a whole thread on broken slippers when you can just get one of those guys to fix it for a small fee Didnt know OP was hinting at something else entirely Learning a lot from it.. |
PrecisionFx:I dont understand? |
BABANGBALI:are you ok ![]() |
