This is really nice Someone should also do one about snail and fish farming Diversifying the economy...one post at a time vickydevoka: My cousin's first attempt on egg distribution he lost all his money all de egg got broken. I rather have a provision store than to supply eggs. # my take on dis i was once on my way out of the market when i passed a crowd of people lamenting and consoling one girl..i went closer and saw that she had smashed her entire stock of eggs and was trying to pack the insides into leather thats what first came to mind when i saw the post but i hesitated about sharing it since the OP made a lot of effort. People should just be careful or better still invest in good quality crates to save them headache, though it may cost more |

SEGLIZ: the other two are the family and the economic institutions. well on the ostentatious nature of the elite class from the north I wouldn't say I'm dumbfounded but that was a nature adopted from the south particularly the Yoruba "ówà níbè" life style though the Yoruba's have turn a learner. lol truth is the affluence nature of the northern elites is not in tandem with the living condition of it populace. Lol. is it the same as Owambe? Yeah. but they have a feudal system up there that relies on some people being dirt-poor |

Kampack: so, what happens to the ones (EU immigrants) already there in the UK? In a way, good news for aspiring non-EU migrants. If they have the right papers, no problem. But some of them are already leaving because there is more of anti-immigrant sentiment and they are starting to feel uncomfortable |

jaxxy: Not True. It was a pale shoot everybody even the whites were not on bright make up like the glossy shoot u put up. They all look smiliar and not projecting. Maybe that the photographers theme. Like an early 60’s look.
Complex won’t kill sm people everything isn’t about racism pls. Adesuwa didn’t necessarily have to be in the middle cos sm1 else will have to be placed smwhere.
A better picture wud have been with adesuwa in the middle bt then the shoot/attention will be all about her and maybe that’s not the concept they want. Youre thinking along my lines, but even with all that, they still had some subtle ways of making her look somehow Her posture looks timid while the others look bold, her headdress does not look as graceful as the others. The gown she is wearing is not fine The complexion issue is another thing. they were going for a "faded" look but the other 3 babes still look decent. They probably didnt bother to get someone who can do makeup for a black person with the right products They neglected her. Maybe not on purpose, but they did |
Celebrities › Re: Tosin Silverdam: Adesua Etomi Vogue Magazine Cover Is Disappointing, Inferior by midnighter(f): 10:29pm On Mar 18, 2019 |
Trustee1: This argument is so unnecessary. If you see my point fine, if you don't finer. How many magazines have you seen uses a black constantly for a monthly issue. Please if any let me know and make sure it's not a bellanaija or it's kind. No problem |
Celebrities › Re: Tosin Silverdam: Adesua Etomi Vogue Magazine Cover Is Disappointing, Inferior by midnighter(f): 10:17pm On Mar 18, 2019 |
Trustee1: Say that to Gucci using " Blackface " for advert or H&M. racism goes way beyond asking a black man to stand for a white folk. Youre right but those are extreme examples of cultural sensitivity. Your own comment was talking of putting any black woman at the centre of any photo with lots of Caucasians, for diversity's sake It should be at the discretion of the designer how best to display his art. If there were a photoshoot involving black africans with one white person and we kept putting her at the front, at the centre, and all that, would you still name it "diversity"? I suspect you would still complain |
Celebrities › Re: Tosin Silverdam: Adesua Etomi Vogue Magazine Cover Is Disappointing, Inferior by midnighter(f): 10:03pm On Mar 18, 2019 |
Trustee1: The other girls in the picture are Caucasians, putting a woman of colour in the middle shows DIVERSITY. if Rihanna happens to be on a cover with a million white girls, you'll always identify her as the Queen in it. Adesua might not be the biggest female in Nollywood but the girl's damn pretty and deserves better. I was in the middle of typing to argue with you but after staring at the picture yet again, i finally realised what everybody is complaining about All the other girls were given space to shine but they used one chick's head to cover her own. She was relegated Still, this could be a status issue. Rihanna is much more famous. Plus her face is much more striking and confrontational. Adesua's is more passive I still disagree with you though. A photographer cant ruin the idea and concept he is going for so as not to appear as "racist". Thats not good for people's creativity But some subconscious racial bias is showing here, I cant really deny that |
Celebrities › Re: Tosin Silverdam: Adesua Etomi Vogue Magazine Cover Is Disappointing, Inferior by midnighter(f): 9:43pm On Mar 18, 2019 |
Trustee1: What he said was fact though. Colorism has become a stigma in this generation, why put a black girl at the back of three white girls. It's a racial slur. Get the point before rushing here to act homophobic. But you cant move a black person to the front just because she is black. That would be condescending, which is another form of racism Believe me i am looking hard at the picture to see what slavery everyone is talking about |

People complained about her complexion but i did not see anything its to do with the filter and lighting they used. They are trying to create a mystical, "fairytale" theme (imho), hence the flowery headdresses they are wearing Modified: Yes i can see it now if they could just move that nwanyi ocha at the front some inches to the right, i dont think we would be having this problem |

Niger is one of the 10 poorest countries in the world hence may explain their presence here. I also suspect around that time, there was a drought in Nigeria. SEGLIZ: yeah we in the south have come off accepting the poverty life theory but the worse it is the "animal" instinct, tendency and the desperation at which we from the south now seek wealth is just alarming and scary. in all three of the five social institutions that govern the social system has really failed us. the political, religion and educational institutions has dealt and done us more harm than proportionally acceptable. the north is worse hit with educational starvation hence their masses accepting poverty as a way of life. come to think of it, won't education rob them of the virtue of simplicity they have at end of it all if given the right exposure. fine it will take away some inhuman nature but open to the volatile greed we now bear southward. What are the other 2 institutions? Im not sure if education would make them less simple. But then, the wealthier northern elites are quite ostentatious with wealth ie Zahra Buharis wedding |
