Codswallop? That shows you only reason with your anus.
I only commended Joshua for his religious liberalism, being a Yoruba Man, unlike a typical Hausa/Igbo Man who might have rated religion above intelligence and hard work.

I really get turned off when reading a post or news article in which the author deliberately uses big words just to pass a simple point across. Honestly it doesn't make you appear intelligent to the reader, instead, it looks like you are trying so hard to sound smart. Even the Brits who invented English don't write with such verbiage, but our people think using silly big words intimidate and command the respect of their readers. Utter rubbish.

Imes on Googlehuh Funny!! grin grin

There's only one person I know that knows of His coming and that is me. Maybe Allaah made some other people on earth also know but I have not met them.

But I am the only one I know who knows.

And Imes is not Ahmadiyyah. In fact, Ahmadiyyah is amongst the misguided Muslim sect Imes is coming to face and oppose.

Imes is probably unlike anything you can find on the internet. I'm the only one who can tell you about him grin
But you wrote that you were taking over some other guy

And that thing you said about a "reformer" of Islam sounds like Ahmadiyya

Is it an esoteric sect?

Me saying you are limiting God is targeted at your statement "How much mercy can God dole out to save someone" and not this one you are pointing at. God's mercy is infinite and is enough to save someone and He doesn't need to come down as human to die for sins. God's mercy is enough. This is God!
I understand you now; I have modified it. When I used the word "can" I was not referring to his ability or inability to wipe away sins. Of course He CAN wipe away sins. The question is, WOULD He wipe away sins and under what circumstance? When I say "wipe" I mean totally forget them such that there is no punishment for them in the afterlife.

As far as He is a MERCIFUL God, He is also a JUST God. Sins must be accounted for and punished; this is the law. The punishment for sinning against God is death and condemnation to Hell. Who will suffer this punishment, if not us?

They used to spill the blood of a spotless animal as a substitute for a human, to cleanse his sin. The Israelites did that as a temporary measure to cover their sin and experience forgiveness because it was better than nothing. It still doesnt solve the conundrum.

Even before Abrahamic religion reached our shores, the concept of an atoning sacrifice was a huge part of traditional religion. People and animals were regularly sacrificed to the deity of the shrine. Yet it was never enough. Every year, more dead people and animals.

How many dead rams does it take to absolve a sinful human? How many dead humans for the good of the tribe?

We all have to die, because we are all sinful. Does God want punish His beloved creation? Does it please God to send us to Hell? Or would He do absolutely anything , including coming down to Earth in the form of a poor, illegitimate carpenter's son, to stop that from happening?

These are the bases of the problem, and the solution.

You are the first person to hold my attention on this topic for the last 30 years ... Most always get upset and then revert to the status quo of don't question God etc

Bravo that is no small feat, you should be proud
Lol. I am not upset because I dont believe that we are contradicting each other. Anybody who understands the sacrifice of Jesus must understand that if they themselves were to encounter Jesus not knowing who He truly was, they would probably hate his guts! Your sinful human nature is at odds with Jesus' perfection and you have a choice either to accept it and tackle your vices with His help or reject it and keep stumbling.

Thats why we say that we are "in the world but not of it", thats why its necessary to become "born-again" and thats why Christians are persecuted. Because EOD, human character and desire often goes contrary to what God wants and says.

1 We agree he died yes , but I say hsi mission wasn't to come and commit suicide but to show mankind the way to live

2. This was a threat to the church so they ganged up against him
I dont understand why you keep listing these events as if they are binary. Is it not possible to aim to accomplish 2 things at once?

He came and taught us how to live. He came and died. Those two things are not mutually exclusive.

I think I have already addressed these; His mission was to show mankind the way to live BUT in doing so, He knew that He would die for the same mankind He came to help. Because ultimately, none of us really wants His help.

We all want to eat whenever, sleep whenever, watch stupid movies, gossip and have sex whenever we want to, without somebody telling us that its wrong. Or if we acknowledge that it can be wrong, the way we do that should still be on our own terms. So why wouldnt we kill Jesus?

Alternatively, He knew He would die for the same mankind He came to help because how, how could the promised Messiah, the emissary of the Most High God, come in the form of a peasant labourer, a carpenter's son born out of wedlock in the worst neighbourhood in town, hanging out with prostitutes and embezzlers? And how could He call Himself the Son of God? What type of insult is that? So why wouldnt we kill Jesus?

3 He was murdered but the church changed the narative to be he came to die for mankind
You would have to qualify this. Which "church" are you referring to?

Who changed what narrative? The prophecy that the lamb of God was coming to die for the sins of the world had been looming throughout the Bible, so the narrative was actually consistent.

If anything they would have tried to change the narrative to be that his death was insignificant, to try to cover the whole thing up. Because thats why they murdered Him in the first place, to stop Him from gaining too much relevance.

I don't believe he was meant to die I think he was murdered because he came.to.shift emphasis from the church to your deeds and life style
He never preached in large auditoriums or citadel's instead he opted to preach in the hill sides and gardens

The church had him killed just as they would today

If suddenly he came and started preaching in the open fields there by making all the churches like dunamis, Christ embassy and winner chapel large auditoriums will be empty this same. churches will unit and go and meet buhari and tell him to arrest him that this man is planning Biafra
Exactly! Exactly, exactly.

It was a political move. Jesus was a radical. And we can see from what happened in Sowore's case what happens to radicals and people who challenge the status quo.

Just because He was divine, it does not mean that He was not subject to the social and political systems that govern human interactions. You talk too much, you ask too many questions, you challenge the big boys, you are finished!

At any point in time, This dude would have been killed because He was dealing with HUMANS! Sinful, selfish, ambitious, covetous humans!

Even if He were here now, they would still kill Him. Thats the whole point.

He came to die for us, not because we are such good Christians but because we are nothing to write home about, yet He still loves us.

If somebody is preaching on a mountain somewhere, away from your own synagogue, is it a crime? In fact you are even supposed to be happy that people are being healed and freed. Live and let live, right? But as usual, human beings couldnt help but see Him as a threat and a nuisance. So they conspired against Him, the same way we see so many conspiracies end in tragedy. Unfair and unjust tragedy against an innocent soul who was only trying to improve his society.

He was not MEANT to die, the same way Sowore was not MEANT to be captured. The same way Abiola was MEANT to be the president. The same way so many things were not MEANT to happen, but they happened because humans are inherently wicked!

That is literally the whole point of the Bible. The Old Testament and the Gospels keep showing us how helpless we are and why we really need a drastic intervention of some kind.

See here's the thing

The modern christian faith is hinged on the belief that this suicide is pre destined and some.how absolves one of Sims committed daily as long as on Sunday you cry Jesus died for me and boom you and clean again , then next week rinse and repeat

Now doesn't this week oddly convincing and encouraged a sort of care free immoral lifestyle?

I mean ,let's face it Christianity some times just looks like a joke... No one takes responsibility for their actions because, Christ committed suicide for it

I think this lie was intentionally written to suite this purpose of a life of ease there by giving the church supremacy
Exactly! But if you really appreciated the sacrifice God made for you in the so-called suicide, how He humiliated and debased Himself for your sake, then you wouldnt do those immoral things, would you?

If actually you called yourself a Christian, you would go out of your way to avoid doing those things that He had asked you not to do, knowing the pains He suffered to get you out of this mess.

Just like you try not to irritate your parents, knowing how they toiled and suffered for your sake. It doesnt mean you wont at times slip up and disobey them, but acting out of love for your parents, you would try not to.

NOT to buy your parents' love, affection and acceptance, because you know you already have those, because they have SHOWN these through their ACTIONS concerning you.

Now, you know that your parents will forgive you when you mess up, but will you keep hurting them just because you have that knowledge? If you really love those people, the answer to that question should be a RESOUNDING "NO".

But you perform particular acts -and refrain from performing other ones- purely out of love, to show your devotion to those people who sacrificed so much for your sake.

Secondly, what exactly is your point in the next paragraphs? Do you mean that we human beings are so sinless and cannot make heaven and we need God to come and die for our sins to be washed away before we can?
Yes! Thats exactly what it means. Going by your own efforts, you cannot make heaven. You need help. We all need help. We all need arbitration

IAmStrange:
And then as for your sentences saying how much mercy can God dole out or how much of His mercy can save someone... I'm sorry it's like you are limiting God. God's mercy is infinite! As in, it has no end. I'm sure you must have heard Muslims saying something like "Allaah in His infinite mercy". His mercy is infinite! So you saying how much of his mercy can He dole out implies limitation. He can dole out as much as He wills!
I am not limiting God. I am saying that it is against the very nature of God to abide with sin. This is why I used the oil and water illustration.

Am I insulting the oil by saying it cannot stay with water or am I just stating a simple fact?

IAmStrange:
You mentioned Ablution, sacrifice and imperfect efforts and then you said something like can dirt clean dirt?

Does that mean you are equating all those acts of worship (that are meant to be holy or virtuous) as DIRT?
This is the point. Those acts of worship are wonderful, but the entities performing them are not.

If you encounter a madman on the road, covered in mud and dust, and he offers you a loaf of bread, will you collect it?

If your darling husband/wife comes to meet you and offers you the same size and type of bread, will you equally collect it?

IAmStrange:
Okay oo! I've heard! But Imes is coming sha grin grin grin

As a Christian the one thing I have always battled with the saying the son of God can to die for mankind!

This just doesn't sit well.with me , because in the same.bible it is said he prayer father forgive them for they no not what they do!

This sounds like an intercession prayer for forgives me, so if there is a prayer for forgiveness then there was a crime ..

I just can't figure that part out and it bugs the hell out of me..

For me Jesus was murdered in cold blood and didn't. Come to die for anyone
Yeah, He died for our crimes. Whats the problem?

He was murdered in cold blood and came to die for us. Those two things are not mutually exclusive.

God bless you for this comments.
Yorubas are liberal when it comes to issue of religion.
They are not fanatics like Igbo and Hausa people.
Yorubas don't base relationship or respect on religion believe, unlike Igbo and Hausa people who worship their pastors and imam.
That's why there's no room for religion extremesim in Yoruba land. No Boko Haram, no IPOB .
You can't hide under religion to perpetuate crime. You will be exposed.
Anthony Joshua has both Muslims and Christians siblings. That's a typical Yoruba family for you.
Igbo doesn't tolerate Muslims while Hausa has no regard for Christians.
I respect Yoruba people for that one.
I hope you realise that both of those 2 ethnic groups you are abusing could turn your own tribalism back on you and claim that that "liberal" tribe you are exalting could also be seen as FICKLE, INDECISIVE and WISHY-WASHY by your own standard.

Having a belief and sticking to it does not make you a fanatic.

Complaining of marginalisation and agitating for sovereignty on that basis does not make one a religious extremist. Do IPOB go about blowing people up? They may be extremists, but not religious extremists.

We all know of plenty of examples of people outside of Igbo and Hausa who "worship" their pastors and imams.

And this is what makes sense more. God encompassing us with His mercy in his Godlike fashion and while maintaining his Supreme status as God makes more sense than coming down as a human being to die for our sins. no insult intended.
Modified: It is ambiguous to you because you have not understood the unfathomable chasm between God and sin, and by extension, between God and US.

God cannot abide with sin. God cannot cope with sin. God cannot tolerate sin in His presence, even though He loves us more than we could ever imagine. He loves the sinner and yet hates the sin.

There is nothing like mercy when it comes to immiscible quantities. Oil and water do not mix. Parallel lines can never meet. God cannot meet with sin. How far can mercy take you? How much mercy would God dole out, when you sin almost every moment of every day, sometimes without even knowing?

To solve the problem, to bridge the gap, God humbled and condescended Himself by taking on our frail human form, yet He remained totally sinless. Thus making Himself a perfect candidate for redeeming us and COMPENSATING for the terrible debt we owe for our failure to keep His law. His perfect law!

This is what I mean by washing a dirty cloth clean with soap.

All the ablution, animal sacrifice and IMPERFECT HUMAN EFFORT in the world cannot make up for our FLAWED HUMAN NATURE.

Can dirt remove dirt from a cloth? When you spill palm oil on a cloth, what do you use to remove it? More palm oil?

Or soap?

You see! angry Ignorance upon ignorance!

I always say many of you non Muslims who criticize Islam do not know true Islam. your knowledge of Islam is based on what you observed.

So Muslims rely on their deeds alone?

The Prophet (pbuh) said: "No one of you will enter
Paradise by his deeds alone." They asked, "Not even you,
O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "Not even me, unless
Allah covers me with His Grace and Mercy" (Bukhari,
Riqaq, 18; Muslim, Munafiq, 71-73).

And this is what makes sense more. God encompassing us with His mercy in his Godlike fashion and while maintaining his Supreme status as God makes more sense than coming down as a human being to die for our sins. no insult intended.
Your good deeds will be measured against your bad deeds and which ever one is worse will determine your afterlife

This is why you will often observe Muslims saying that "I dont want to do that because I dont want to "get sins"".

But what people dont realise is that a stained cloth doesnt become clean just by focusing on the unstained parts. It needs to be WASHED CLEAN with soap

The role of Christ has not been fully recognised in Islam.

You are still looking for something because you rely on your own deeds to save you instead of looking to Him for your salvation.

It has been shown in the Old Testament/Tawrat that humans cannot be trusted to keep the sacred law of GOD.

This is why we look to Christ for our fulfilment, knowing that we are incapable of measuring up to the perfect standard required by GOD to enter into His presence.

One funny thing about UAE is that your passport sometimes determines your pay

A Nigerian passport holder and American passport will be doing same job but will be getting different salary
I heard that the reason for this is because

They calculate your salary using what you would have gotten if you were back in your home country to incentivize you To go there

What somebody would be paid in america, and what it would take to get that person to work in the gulf, is not the same as that of Nigeria
