Marrying for true attributes in itself is a scam...why not marry a prostitute or a criminal?

And if you read my conclusion,i reiterated that no marriage is really a scam because there must always be a selfish reason behind any marriage.

You amuse me. Any sane and sound person knows that there's nothing "selfish" in being rational. Words has failed you many a time.

There's no gain in being myopic and egotistical.

Words failed you! Marriage can only be a scam to those who married for superficial reasons. However, those who married based on good attributes never have reason to assume their marriage as scam.

As human beings, we are all imperfect, yes. However, problem arises when someone you intend to spend the rest of your life with continues to be superficial and fails to share his/her hidden weaknesses (bad attributes), which are usually visible to oneself and hidden to the outside world - except those (outsiders) with an innate sensitive and analytical abilities. Pretense is evil.

The article is on point. However you, you forgot to add the following two diseases:

- Sentiment

- Religiosity

When a CEO chooses to staff his organization based on sentiment of s/he is my sibling or relation, rather than on the basis of aptitude (not also on number of certificate brandishing by a prospective applicant), then failure abounds.

On the other hand, allowing faith to take place of reason and practicality is another ish. The world needs doers not tellers.

Kudos to her! That's how people with good morality and personality live their lives. When a person is being driven by ambition and powered by grit, money ( or fame) stays in its rightful defined lane - as only a means to an end, not an end itself.

However, when someone is driving by superficiality and conceitedness and power by greed, s/he tends to propagate the false doctrine of money answers all things ish, and goes to any length to acquires it.

My compatriots and prayer ish! For one, we are all imperfect manifestations of the perfect creator and he's always with us and for us at all time's. So there's no need for time waste in the name of prayers. He neither need our prayers nor does he expects our praises. A way to reverent him and enjoy positive energy for ourselves is by beign truthful to ourselves in particular and good to our fellow human beings in general.

What the OP need is a human help - subject to him eschewing self-conceit and meaningless superstition. . . . He has just exhibited these two petty acts here so far. Just imagine if one of you above had offered him a job opportunity, I mean, that would define instant answered prayer.

@OP and every other person out there, note it that the world population is made up of 99 percent receivers and only 1 percent givers. Guess what, the hand of a giver is always on top - so long as one gives in altruism not for a selfish purpose. When I hear of a lettered person complaining of unemployment for a long time, I sees such a person as a non serious and informed entity. There's nothing wrong with been down but there's everything wrong with been out, as an able bodied youthful person.

In your condition OP, where you don't have useful network, your best bet should be to volunteer to either work for free (sound useless right? Well that's one secret way of success) or on commission for any organization around. Believe you me, from there your golden contact would locate you - so long as you have good attributes. Before you or anyone else ask how you would get food to eat in such a situation, come on, it's human beings you're going to meet and interact with there, so there must be supplements for such, so long as you didn't start to exhibits opportunistic (leeching or predatory) attitude. Being opportunistic is different from making use of an opportunity.

On the other hand, idea rules the world - but idealists without realistic abilities never make a headway. Only realists live up to their aspirations. If you're an idealistic doer (realist); send me a USD30,000 business proposal. Hey! I'm not going to dash you money, no. The business proposal, if convincing to me, can earn you a joint venture opportunity.

Well, for your information, you and your likes should know that people of different class and of diverse places/locations are also members here. So, the early you stop using your myopic and pauper self as a base standard for others the better for you.

I worship God (sole creator of the universe, Allah, chukwu or whatever name that one chooses to call him) every moment of my life. This I do through acts of kindness towards my fellow human beings. I am for humanism - if I do good I feel good and if I do bad I feel bad, also.

As far as I am concerned, every day is a special day - a Sunday is not different from a Monday etc.

The sole creator of the universe is for all that exists. And he has got no rival. Also, he never inspired anyone to write a so called holy books (undeniably those books are written by some of the great minds of the yore), therefore they aren't his words. He isn't petty.

Religion / Re: Would You Rather Worship With A Wealthy Pastor Or A Poor One by Miladi(f): 7:49am On Oct 16, 2016
As far as I am concerned, church promoters and goers (pastors and members) are both opportunists. The pastors are predatory opportunists while the members are leeching opportunists. In the end the leeches will always lose to the predators.

A predator would always make you to believe that he has got so much to offer you for your advancement in all ramifications, of course the better life is never instant - it'll also be in the future and afterlife. They are faith teachers and hope sellers - perfect manipulation techniques.

Then, to continue teaching you faith and selling hope to you, you (the leech) is expected and must be providing his material needs. He live his own better life at present through your sweat (he's never a practitioner of the message of faith and hope he propagates) - hypocrite.

To continue the circle, from the seeds of your sweat (you leech) he has started living well (materially), so other leaches like you from outside will be attracted to him, boom membership increases, so also will the material seeds (compound interest can be sweet). Then, to make you the earlier leeches permanent (if you're still useful to the organization somehow) he will give you a crumb from his compound interest, and that would of course make you to up your praises of him and even start to worship him - your prayers has been answered. And the circle continues.

People, we're all imperfect manifestation of the perfect creator. The creator is for all that exists. And all what we need to live independently without need for meaningless prayers, he had already given to us all. Let's use our brains which he gave to us, to better of lives the way we want it individually and collectively. I am for humanism. Religion is a scam.

Should the very woman show up at Church tomorrow... the same people who see nothing wrong with her outfit would be calling her the devil and shouting she needs deliverance... she wouldn't even be allowed into a church. Her dress is fine for in the club or some evening events... not to be in the public like this...in Abuja.

It's unfortunate that you and other of her critics aren't authorities; thus your opinions about her are inconsequential. By the way, church's not for everyone one and non proponents of it has no regard about it and its adherents.

Her critics are just being petty - hypocritical and orthodox.

We have seen some ladies that feels comfortable to wear bikinis at beaches and post their photos in their albums and online for all to see. Also, female athletes feels comfortable to wear shots/panties to carry out their duties in the public glare. Then, I wonder what's wrong with this lady wear, since her sensitive private parts were covered.

As far as I'm concerned, to each his own. Attributes matters most than attitudes.

A man's actions and inactions goes a long way to determine the level of his wife's loyalty to him.

A man who undermines his wife should not expect 101% loyalty from her....

My submissions are clear and direct. I never conclude that PMB was selfless or not, towards her wife. Neither of them had told us that they were quarreling in their home. . . Only petty people live their lives on assumptions rather than fact.

Any association devoid of accord in public pronouncements should be put to and end. I maintain that anyone who plays public opposition toward a cause s/he is part and parcel of, is a traitor and should be treated as one. Issues like this subject under discussion requires objectivity not sentiment. A reciprocation of her action by the husband would be in the line of senator Owie's opinion - if we're to follow your postulation. Because to every action there's an equal and opposite reaction. And as you may know too, two captains cannot man one ship.

Sorry, you don't seem to have high IQ, so there's no point to further dialogue with you and your ilks. Bye.

Don't you think that Aisha Buhari must have on several occasions tried to discuss same issues with her husband but got relegated to the background?

Diplomacy is the legal version of lie. The fact that a lawyer takes up the task to defend and secure victory for an obvious criminal is not because he likes criminal acts, no. He only does so because he's trained to meander and he's good in it and loves it, too.

Also, obedience is better than sacrifice hence more glorifying. A wise person don't play public opposition against its component; separation must take place first, before a public opposition will be justified between a once united force, else it's what it's - treachery.

Her loyalty toward the husband is questionable.

Senator Owie is absolutely right. The first lady just acted like a frenemy who worships her partner when they are in private but revels in disparaging the same partner in the open, when in the public with him.

As long as there's nothing wrong in a woman being outspoken towards a husband when in the private with him, but there's everything wrong with being contentious against a husband - disparaging him - especially in public.

Even on her said speech, I'm surprised that almost every other of my compatriots are hailing her venom about she and her husband not knowing about 45 out of possible 50 appointees. It's unthinkable that she had expected to know them prior to their appointments, citing the diversity of our beloved country. . . . This is just like a wife of a CEO to a multinational company being annoyed that she and her husband didn't know about a qualified hand the HR specialist certified for employment.

My point, though, is not in anyway or means supporting the incompetent regime, no. The country needs competent hands to man its affairs. However, whether they would be people the first lady and the husband already know or not shouldn't be a criteria or matter at all.

Where altruism and fidelity are the principles on which a marriage is contracted and built upon, then problems like his money is our money and my money is my money vise versa would never occurs.

In fact, I would rather remain single than to marry a selfish person. Just as I would be miserable should I nurse or practice the ignoble act of selfishness towards my altruistic and faithful partner. I believe in reciprocation and I always pray for good morality.

In the absence of altruism, I would rather separate. . . . No time for mind game and pretension. Marriage should be enjoyed not endured - I cannot afford to have and live with a partner whom I tolerate instead of celebrate.

If a working class lady cannot assume the basic responsibility of home front running expenses (subject to her earning power; but at least the feeding department) without being told and cajoled into doing so, then she is better off not working at all.

Experience has shown me that this world we live in is made up of 99 percent of opportunists and only 1 percent of altruists.

On the flipside, making use of opportunity is different from being an opportunist; while the former is morally good, the latter is evil.

Meanwhile, opportunists are of two different types: (1) predators and (2) leeches. @OP, you met a leech. She was lucky, because if she had met a predator (you could even be one but for the sake and safety of your job you respected yourself ), he would have probably intentionally fall for her shenanigans (which would make her assumed an illusory smart lady) and later teach her a bitter lesson in the nearest future.

Her kind of attitude as you narrated here was the sole reason the whites were able to colonized our ancestors. Leeching opportunists would always lose to predacious opportunists.

Meanwhile, opportunists who are of the manipulative characteristic will always lose to altruists who are of the diplomatic characteristic. As the saying goes manipulators lose credibility; diplomats gain it.

Peradventure your company folds and you have no foreseeable wage work, leverage on your savings to launch yourself as an independent consultant in your line of expertise. Or, any other line of enterprise that twinkle your fantasy. There must always be something to do for an informed educated and healthy entity.

I have never seen an informed educated person that's perpetually unemployed. . . . Vise versa case scenarios they are temporary underemployed, on sabbatical or retired.

Yes, there's nothing wrong with a justifiable criticism from a better informed person to a lesser informed one. However, there's everything wrong when a petty person derives pleasure in disparaging his superior or any other person that holds contrary views, traits or opinions to his.

It's a conventional wisdom that conceited people revels in disparaging others who're better off than them in all ramifications, when issues beyond their comprehension are discussed or presented before them.
