Good evening everyone. please is it possible for someone to fund his block account using moneygram or western union.
Form A made me miss my admission last winter, so i want to start funding on time, but the black market is still out of my reach. So, I'll use western union if it's possible to fund through that means.
Has anyone ever funded his or her account installmentally using western union or any other money transfer service.

You would need someone you really trust in Germany or elsewhere in Europe to help you with that and multiple account holders of the particular bank you intend to use and let me say, bank connections. I also tried the black and blue market but the rates quoted, even by sellers on nairaland was too much and there was the risk of someone running away with my money.

Skye bank currently allows moneygram transfer and I have used it since December to receive a total of about €5000 from Nigeria. And the last rate was about 400 to 1€ minus charges.

Here is how it's done.

First, You are only allowed to use your account once in 3months for a total of about N380k. So therefore, if you are sending much money, you will need multiple account holders with the bank who will allow you to use their slots. I have used about 7.

Secondly, you will need someone or people YOU REALLY TRUST in Germany or elsewhere to help you take the money from Money gram's office and deposit into your account. This is because I doubt the bank will send multiple transfers to a bank account (You can try though).

Lastly, a branch is only allowed two transactions per day and of course there are backlogs. This is where the connections come in. I didn't have connections though, all mom did was to make sure she begged at the bank and told them how important the transfers are and basically I received in 3-5 working days.

If you are Ok with the stress and the procedures involved, I would really recommend it. It is faster than Form A or dorm transfer and will save you about 1 million if you were to use the blue or black market rates.

Didn't apply to. The university enrolled me in a German course but it's online and they don't want to give me a letter for that.

My permit here ends by March 1. The university here is telling me to extend by one month but I don't want to. Most of the people I know here are Erasmus students and I want to leave with them.

I presented the housing contract and they still have a copy. But I don't know why I can't arrive earlier before the semester starts.

I am an Erasmus Mundus Masters student and I'm presently in Romania. I applied for a German student Visa (as Germany is ny next destination) and the embassy told me to use an account statement that I don't need to open a blocked account.

Now my problem is, the summer semester starts April 18 and I'll be done here in a week. So I put my departure date as 15 Feb. Now the embassy is saying they can only give a visa from April, asking me what I intend to do from Feb to April. I said a language course but my university is refusing to give me a letter for that. Any idea on how to arrive Germany sooner? I already got and paid for accommodation starting Feb 15.

I just want to get done with the weight gain stuff faster. The drugs I need are those to improve my appetite since I don't eat much and wouldn't get hungry.

From what I see QEM is a good choice but your transcript will tell if it's the right choice or not

My course, though an Erasmus Mundus program is not covered by the scholarship (I would have suggested it to you since you're looking for Agric Econs related courses). We only get a monthly grant of about €150 for the first year. And that is after you have paid the tuition fees. But I did get about a 80% tuition fee reduction scholarship from an external body in France.

When you had a life threatening illness, he helped you? Bullshit. Was he the doctor/nurse or herbal healer who treated you? Did he pay for your medication? Why attribute it to him when it's clear the doctors or whoever it was was good and did their job. If you need to thank someone, thank the person who treated you.

Perhaps when you had the life threatening illness, you should have stayed at home and hoped to get cured miraculously.

The hubby hasn't crossed any line. I know for certain that refusing a woman's meal which she prepared for you hurts her; mothers , sisters , aunts and girlfriends. It's alright if he avoids her meals for a day or two but he shouldn't overdo it. A long-drawn fight would crack the walls fortifying their relationship. Once she shows remorse , he should let it go.

I have read the thread three times, I can't find where it says she showed remorse. She is just not comfortable with the new development and they are most probably keeping malice at present.

Sorry I dont know have the info about studying in Romania. Like I said, I'm an Erasmus Mundus Student. My main university is ISARA-LYON ( a grand ecole in France) and that is the university I applied to. But the first two semesters of the program will be spent at one of the 5 partner universities depending on your specialization ( so I chose Romania and Germany). You can google up on Erasmus+ or Erasmus Mundus for more information.

Well, these are the few things I can tell you about studying in Romania.

I stay in Cluj. It is a youthful city with almost zero crime. and I must admit I fell in love with the city. I have never lived a more peaceful life. I even told my university I would like to stay in Romania for the next semester but they disagreed.

Romanian Universities are good. I can't answer about cheap because I dont know how much they pay.

Cost of living in Romania is relatively cheap (according to European standards) but more expensive than in Nigeria. About €200 should be enough to take care of feeding/month. Accommodation depends on if you stay in the student dormitories, share a flat or have a private apartment. I stay in the dormitory and like all Erasmus students pay €200/month. Regular students pay about €50/month but be aware that the facilities are not the same so you can expect to share a room with some others. Private apartments are from €150-300, depending on city, place and facilities.

Don't be so quick to downgrade Nigerian universities.

I am an Erasmus Mundus student here in Romania and due to the broadness of my program, I do attend courses in many departments. But mostly with MSc agribusiness students.

In the MSc Agribusiness (Department of Economics) students here take a Statistics course that I have done back in FUNAAB at 100 and 200L and I can tell you most of them have no idea about it. The class makes me look like a very brilliant student because it's so easy for me and funny thing is I'm not offering the course and hate statistics but only attending it because I like the professor (I think she's hot and I like to see her face).

The professor for one of my courses hasn't even attended any of the classes. We don't have the lecture notes (He always promises to send them but never will). Exam starts in 2 weeks, I wonder what we're going to write or how we're going to be graded.

The differences is just that the intensity of courses in Nigeria is much higher but here it's much practicalized. You go on trips, sent on observation, perform case studies etc and you're basically seated in front of a WIFI computer in Classes and you better have good computer+Microsoft office skills.

Before in Nigeria, I was a shy student. But after 3 presentations/week in Romania, you can be rest assured the stage fright is gone. Also the classes are conducive and not too populated (Well, since only 20% attend the classes. I meet the other 80% in Pubs and Coffee shops and they introduce themselve as my colleague)
