Was that the refusal reason? For what country? If the fake marriage certificate is the reason, he would have to write it as the reason and I'd suggest that he speaks to an immigration lawyer on this. I'm careful with advising on issues like this because I'm not a lawyer and I don't want to be legally complicit. Worst case scenario, it might lead to a refusal because it's a case of misrepresentation, deceit and forgery. Best case scenario, it might not lead to a refusal but I can't tell you for certain that it won't. Ibuske: |
As far as I know, no but I'd like to know why your school insisted on using the school accommodation. toyclicks: |
There's a part of the form that requires him to declare the refusals plus reasons. He shouldn't worry; it doesn't mean that his visa will be refused. As long as he takes care for those reasons not to crop up on his application and he meets the T4 visa requirements, his application won't necessarily rejected except in cases where the refusal reasons (terrorism et al) are very grave. Ibuske: |
Oh okay. Will you be getting your license as part of your course or you've got to write the exams separately? Is your course a pre-registration training? Is passing your GPhC a requirement for your course or after your course? Is your course an OSPAP course? Sorry if I mixed up the terms, I'm not a pharmacist ![]() gracedforever: |
I'd advise you not to say that as it makes it seem like you'd planning to study as a means to migrate to the UK. Even though the PSW will be launched from next summer, if you say this, you would be asked about expected pay and why/how you think that you'd definitely get a job in the UK after your studies. You might also be asked if that's all the plan you have for after your masters and in the absence of another viable plan, your credibility as a genuine student has a high chance of being negatively impacted. There are a lot of specifics or near-specifics that you might be asked for based on your response so I'd advise you not to make your application complicated. If you were planning to enrol on another course after your Masters (i.e. a PhD), that would be understandable as long as you know what know what course that would be in even though that might change along the line. Outside of working in the UK after your studies, what other viable plans do you have? Or is that the only plan you have? gracedforever: |
Oh okay! In that case, you might want to detail this on a cover letter so that the "system glitch" doesn't present your information wrongly. No, it won't call for negative questioning. The only questions might just be around cost, distance to your school, its suitability for your family e.t.c. Sommylove5: |
1. Study evidence if it has to do with your educational achievements. If not, upload in other category. 2. What affidavit? To show he's your father? If yes, it should go under finance along with the account statement. Alternatively, it can be uploaded in the other category. 3. Travel and residency category. Scan and upload the data page of the passport that has the applicable visas / permits, entry and exit stamps. You should also upload the applicable visas / permits entry and exit stamps. Ensure that you clearly label each document being uploaded. Arhmiee: |
1. Are you financially responsible for all of your husband's financial needs? Listing your daughter as your financial dependant is not a problem but listing your husband as your financial dependant when he's not financially dependant on you might raise some questions depending on what information he includes in his application. Overall, it shouldn't have a negative impact on your application except your family situation is explained differently elsewhere on your application or in your interview. 2. Do you have your maiden name on your passport and previous documents or do you have your maiden name on previous documents and marital name on your passport? If your maiden name is on all your documents, the right answer is no, you're not obliged to change names after marriage and UKVI understands that. If your maiden name is on all your documents and your marital name is on your passport, your marriage is sufficient proof of name change for UKVI and your answer should have been yes. 3. The address of the private accommodation is okay even though I'd advise that you use your school address. Using the school's address doesn't mean that you have to live there. You're not in the UK so it's not expected that you'd have secured long term accommodation yet plus as soon as you enrol on your course / sort accommodation, you're expected to update your address with your school. 4. It doesn't matter. You're not expected to give proof of whether you own or rent the house except it helps your application. PS: if viewable information is different from what you imputed, then you can detail this in a cover letter to avoid issues. Bukieinyang: |
Whichever option suits you. Adurami040517: |
Why not just use your school's address to avoid complications? You don't need to upload proof of address but you need to know what your options are and have an idea of where you'd be staying. Sommylove5: |
London transportation is cool and you'd only need a car if you don't want to rely on public transport for those odd hours movement or for those days when there are train delays. I did an estimated break down on the other UK post. For car cost estimates, see below: https://www.goodhousekeeping.com/uk/consumer-advice/car-advice/a29318934/owning-car-costs/ OBYNOWEST12: |
It depends on your car brand and the places you go (parking charges, fuel consumption, tolls e.t.c ) in addition to insurance and tax costs. See link below for info on cost averages: https://www.goodhousekeeping.com/uk/consumer-advice/car-advice/a29318934/owning-car-costs/ OBYNOWEST12: |
Use the name on your passport. pwettyhardey: |
The name on your passport. pwettyhardey: |
1. Which one do you think you'd choose based on probabilities? Put details of that school. 2. The name on your passport is what will be on your application and your BRP and your school will issue your certificate in the name on your BRP. If you go ahead to use your current passport, your marriage certificate is sufficient to show a link between you and your husband when he applies. If you want your new surname on your BRP, you will have to get a new passport and use your marriage certificate as evidence of your name change on your application. pwettyhardey: |
They will scan your originals. You'd need a photocopy of your passport to be attached to your submission checklist to be used for your passport collection. Large documents should be printed in clear, A4 colour copies without any defacement. Arhmiee: |
It depends on your personal tastes. Depending on your eating habits, you'll spend an average around £150-200. If you like exquisite feeding, you will spend more. Transportation is dependent on the area. For London, each bus trip costs £1.50 but if you tap in with the same card more than once within 1 hour, you pay only for the first touch. Once you spend £4.50 a day on your bus trips the other bus trips for the day will be free. Once you hit your weekly max, all touches after are free for the week but you must be a heavy user to hit the max. Bus transportation in Chatham is roughly £2.80 per ride while it's about £3.70 in Canterbury but you can save on buying weekly / monthly/ or season tickets. Transportation spend should be an average of around £300-400 depending how often you use the train/bus and the distance. But if you buy a car, budget for insurance, taxes e.t.c. If you're going outside the bus route, you'll pay more. Train costs depend on where you go. I.e. return tickets from London to Farringdon costs around £15 while London to Canterbury costs about £48. You can download trainline app to help you with the train fares for your target areas. Clothing is dependent on where you shop. Shopping at Primark is different from shopping at M&S. e.g. a male t-shirt at Primark goes for a minimum of £2.50 while a male shirt at M&S or Matalan can cost from £20 and £15 above respectively. When you buy during the sales periods though, the price crashes are epic. Water / light/ Gas bill if not included in your rent will be roughly £100 but heavy usage during winter will definitely get your gas bills up. You can get a phone contract (unlimited calls + 5gb data) on Vodafone for around £12.75. Lycamobile Pay as you go for around £10 (calls and 2 GB data plus free 100 minutes to US, Canada and some other countries excluding Nigeria). Wireless costs depends on who and what package you choose. BT has a £25 plan but you can switch providers if not pleased with service. Sign-on packages for new customers usually come discounted. OBYNOWEST12: |
No, it won't. Pre-Covid refunds took roughly 28 days or less, not sure how fast it will be at this period. amaeve: |
That's the cost in of the Tb test in $ but when you book your test, the naira equivalent (currently N57,800) is given. It's not part of the visa fee, it's paid to IOM via deposit or bank transfer. Also, payments on TLS are for value added services for ease of submission and are optional except for the UserPay fee to use the VI VAC. JustCare: |
It's okay. tunabio: |

So what are you interested in studying? Sales, business, marketing, project management e.t.c. Please note that the T4 route will not give your permanent residence except you get a job with T2 sponsorship after your course or the intended PSW period. Suzam: |
It's not a problem. It's usually sent when a decision can't be made within the set time scales and/or if there's information (refusals, sponsor verification e.t.c.) they need to verify before making a decision. rs172: |
Counting from 23 july, yes ,it does. Joyful7: |
A transaction isn't needed. What the ECO needs to see to confirm that the funds are available are 1. The total funds required in your account for the 28 days. 2. your opening balance / funds on the 1st day of the 28-day count. 3. Your closing balance. 4. No reduction in the funds held throughout the 28-day count. Aprokodaughter: |
The link: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/birth-certificates-and-the-full-birth-certificate-policy/birth-certificates-and-the-full-birth-certificate-policy NOTE: UK immigration rules usually take into consideration the legal norms of the countries where the documents are coming from. The NPC is the Nigerian government agency for birth and death registration and birth certificates and attestation of births have the same legal implications under the Nigerian law. Rheminix: |
Your closing balance is okay and will be used by the ECO. Your statement doesn't need to capture a transaction for today as long as the funds have been in your account for 28 days before your application. Joyful7: |
I'm not sure about that but you should include a cover letter to explain the attestation of birth if you don't have an actual birth certificate to submit. The attached screenshot might guide you and though it's not specifically for T4 applications, it's the UK govt policy on birth certificates. mrpudikin:

You will have to find out at TLS. I know that the 3rd party option is available for family applications, for under-18s and some other applications but I'm not sure if you will be able to do that. If you will be able to do that, you will need to submit an authorisation letter / form available via ( https://static.tlscontact.com/media/global/ww/uk/rep_passport_pickup.pdf ), copy of your ID and a copy of your representative's valid ID when you go in for your biometrics appointment. gracedforever: |
Oh okay. Where do your interests lie? In what area have you got work experience? What do you see yourself doing after your Masters? What area do you see yourself excelling in without struggling? Once you know the above, it's easier to now start checking if the courses in your area of interest will accept your computer science degree. In most cases, being able to sell your skills, experiences and your ability to succeed on your intended course will get you on some courses irrespective of your academic background. Suzam: |
Why exactly do you want to study Computer science then? Why not study a course that will be professionally and financially beneficial to you? If you just want a course for UK migration/work purposes, you might be better off with health related courses or a course which is your area of strength. This is my opinion though. Suzam: |
1. It won't affect you except you have no account of what you've been up to since then in terms of the progress you've made since you finished your course. 2. When you say less strenuous, what exactly do you mean? 3. Monthly maintenance is required to be shown for up to 9 months worth. Students outside London need to show £1,015*9 while students within London must show £1,265*9. Each dependant has to show £680*9 for outside London and £845 for within London. 4. You can use findamasters.com to check for and compare schools. Suzam: |
