1. Resident / work permit is sufficient. He should only include the tenancy agreement if it helps his application otherwise, no.
1b. He doesn't need his monthly pay evidence for the funds in his account. If he's asked about it, his family (sibling and aunt) gave him the funds for his UK study.

2. Normally, you'd need to apply for a T4 visa in a country that you're normally resident in.

What country is he in? Is the VAC in his country closed? If yes, are applicants being directed by UKVI to submit their biometrics at the closest open VAC? If yes, it's okay but if not, he shouldn't.

Momoreoluwa90:
Sir justwise, Mimilyrics and co
Please help answer these questions:

1. Should my brother upload his tenancy agreement and work contract? Or his resident/work permit is sufficient? His current monthly pay isn't sufficient for maintenance fees but he has the amount in his account from family support (me and my aunt). I am thinking including a work contract may raise concerns since his pay isn't that much.

2. We cannot get him an appointment in his country. Is it possible for him to go get his biometrics done elsewhere? Maybe restart the application and pick Brussels for TLS. It's the closest to him without covid restrictions.

Please treat as urgent. Thank you very much.

Here's the link for the changes to be made to the PBS which includes the student visas.

Sweetkid:
I heard it from a guy that just finished his interview some time last week. He was the one that used the word "Vogue". God no go shame me after all my struggles to raise money for my studies. Thanks bro for the information.
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by mimilyrics:
When you say in vogue, what do you mean?

The Tier 4 visa will always be in vogue since it's the visa that allows students come to the UK though there are bound to be changes from time to time.

There are changes to the IHS fees for students from October 2020; IHS increases from £300 for each year of study to £470.

From January, the PBS changes a bit. Student points increases from 40 to 70 which covers having a valid CAS, finances, acceptable English language requirements. Students will also be able to apply for visas 6 months before their courses as opposed to the current 3 months.

The graduate route (PSW) will officially kick off next summer and those who successfully conclude their courses from next summer will be able to apply for the PSW.

I will update this comment with the link to the document as soon as I find it.

Sweetkid:
Hello guys. Is it true that tier 4 visa will no longer be in Vogue from October 5th?
It true then what happens to us who may apply for Visa around 5th or 6th after counting 28days?
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by mimilyrics:
1. I'm not being defensive, I only clarified my earlier comment but you took my comment out of context. Your comment in cap locks indicate "shouting" in typing terms hence, the take a deep breath / chill comment. It's nothing serious.

2. I understand that you thought to spell it out in plain language and fill in the perceived missing gaps in my comment but concluding that I didn't acknowledge the NHS when I actually acknowledged the NHS via the screenshot in my initial comment which you quoted is not okay.
I also further clarified in my subsequent response to you that if anyone reads my initial comment and the attached screenshot and conveniently misinterpretes my comment ( including the "employed by an NHS trust" part on the screenshot), then I had nothing else to say. I would rather post a screenshot clearly showing what's required than typing so whoever's reading sees it for him/herself. The screenshot clearly states this and is easy to read and understand.

3. Anyone reading comments should fully read comments and attached images because reading one without the other is like reading a comment part way and concluding, the comment isn't mutually exclusive of the screenshot and reading one part while forgoing the other won't give the full information.

Anyway, it's all good. I won't be replying anymore so that the thread doesn't get clogged up with the back and forth responses.

Cheers!

inphoenix:
1. I don't know why you're being defensive. I was not attacking you nor in any way disputing what you said, I was only saying something louder for those in the back

2. Again, there's a very important bit you seem to be missing out completely in all your take on this matter, which I want to reiterate, only jobs within the NHS are exempt. You still have not acknowledged it in all your explanations, apparently not every one has successfully interpreted the guidelines, I just thought to spell it out in plain language. Me I'm not disagreeing with you anyways, I'm just filling in the gaps.

3. At the risk of sounding like a broken record, my people... please please please don't work beyond 20 hours weekly even if you are in any of those fields mimilyrics pointed out o! Except you're working with the NHS!! This note of warning is because I know of someone who lost EVERYTHING because of this sort of honest mistake in interpretation. Don't be misled please! All the best!
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by mimilyrics:
O necessary to avoid stress o grin grin grin because you were shouting (Caps lock).

If anyone read my initial comment on not exceeding 20 hours and other things (the general advice which I referred to) plus the one in which I explained to the same OP that whatever temporary concessions were made applied only to particular fields, read the attached screenshot and concluded that I was speaking about working anywhere other than stated by UKVI, then I don't know what else to say.

Note: fields as used doesn't necessarily mean that the professions existed outside of what was stated by UKVI hence the screenshot.
inphoenix:
Deep breath for what? Ko nessestry o grin. Just sounding a note of warning since judging by the comments I've seen on the issue, it seems like a "general" advice is not sufficient.

I repeat, ONLY STUDENTS EMPLOYED WITH THE NHS in the fields stated can work beyond 20 hours weekly.
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by mimilyrics:
Chill, read my comment again and read the screenshot attached to the comment for context.
inphoenix:
Mimilyrics, it is even not just a matter of the field of work. This exception applies only to students working with the NHS. Again, ONLY THE NHS!

TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by mimilyrics:
My advice is general because I don't know if you're qualified to work in the areas for which the 20 hours time limit have been scrapped.
The restrictions lift came in place about 1-2 months ago ( I remember that it was discussed on this thread then) and it still hasn't changed. Are you qualified to work in the fields that are under the exemption for the 20 hours restrictions? If you are, then you're good to go but if you're not, biko just negodu trying to work over 20 hours.
RonaldJAY:
Thank you so much mimilyrics!!so helpful of you.however,it’s been confirmed that there are no more restrictions on working hours for T4 holders.you may check on the ukvi website.its the latest development.unlike before were a student is entitled to only 20hrs per week, now its unlimited and scrapped off. http://www.gov.uk/

TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by mimilyrics:
1. Check glassdoor, Reed, indeed and LinkedIn. You can also check the high street stores for part time job openings.
2. What jobs you get are dependent on your skills, your interests and how well you sell yourself to the recruiters. Yes, you can scout for a job but you can't take a full time job, most professional jobs would require full time or more than 20 hours.
3. If your course doesn't require a police report, you don't need it. If you won't be working with children and vulnerable people or in very sensitive positions, you also won't need it.
For driving, it's up to you. If you choose to drive in the UK, you should work towards it but I really don't see the need for it except driving is very essential for you. This is because the overall UK transportation is okay and the costs of getting and maintaining a car (tax, insurance, tax e.t.c.) might dent your pocket if your finances are not so robust.
You can apply for your provisional driver's licence (£34 for online application) pending when you're ready for your theory and practical tests; you'd need to send in your BRP to DVLA along with the form that will be sent to you after applying online. You can also use the provisional DL as proof of address instead of carrying utility bills around each time you need a POA but you'd need to update your address with DVLA for an updated licence each time your address changes.
4. You don't have to pay online. Pay only after physically inspecting the apartment.

RonaldJAY:
Goodmorning people,To those that can give possible advices and suggestions. Are there job links or groups were certain kinds of job offers are being advertised specifically for T4 holders in UK?

What kind of job are easily available for students? As a postgraduate student, can one scout for professional job related to his/her course?

I have been hearing something about getting a police report and driving school stuff immediately one enters UK,can someone one explain or throw more light on that alongside the advantages?

Is there anyone here around colchester,Essex that can help in getting accommodation off campus?i have heard a lot of accommodation links ranging from RIGHTMOVE and etc but am abit scared of paying for something online that i haven’t seen either.can anyone give an advice even though i opted for school accommodation for the mean time.

It doesn't count, you don't have a national ID card till you collect it. The NI I spoke about in my response is the UK NI.
gracedforever:
What about National Identity Card? I said I don't have because I dont, I just have the NIN slip but I haven't gotten the card yet? @mimilyrics
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by mimilyrics: 7:30pm On Sep 10, 2020
It's better to leave it blank or state that it's forgotten than to say that you don't have.
NIs don't go dormant, they are valid through an individual's lifetime. Not having a corresponding ID doesn't mean that it can't be traced since you'll have to list all the names that you've been known by. HMRC can usually be contacted about forgotten NIs but it takes some days to get a response from them.
Sonarirok:
@mimilyrics was just wondering in my application I indicated I did not have a National Insurance number. I had one issued to me a while ago but I havent used It in 15 years and it’s in my maiden name so I don’t have a corresponding identification for it. That’s alright isn’t it? I don’t even know where I dumped it.

As long as they've got legal proof of marriage along with proof of genuine and subsisting relationship, yes.

What if the fiance applied before getting married? Can he later ask his partner to apply as a dependent?
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by mimilyrics: 5:23pm On Sep 10, 2020
Same chances. Once the main applicant meets the T4 requirements, has his/her documents as required by UKVI in the prescribed format and passes the credibility test, it's easy peasy for the dependants whether they apply together or not since their applications are hinged on the main applicant's ability to secure a Visa.

Congrats to the latest UK Visa holders.
Please I would like to find out if its easier getting a visa when traveling alone and later file for dependants or its same chances if you apply at once with dependants

Check your form to ascertain that there's no error on it. If done and you're sure that there's no error, then no problem. You would need to include the same documents types (birth certificate, TB test) that you're including for your 9 year old.
Fabfive:
Good evening Mimi, Justwise and co-sojourners smiley

While filling my dependants' form, on the documentation section, it was listed (expectedly) that I'd need to submit passport, bank statement, birth certificate , TB result etc) for my 9 year old. However for the other dependant (5 years old), only the passport and bank statement were stated as required. No birthcertificate, no consent, etc.

Has anyone ever experienced this? Am I doing something wrong? I intend to submit all these documents anyway for the 5 year old but it seems quite strange that it was listed for one dependant and not listed for the other.

Pls help clarify what I may have done wrong while filling the forms.

Thanks!

They've got large scanners which can scan multiple documents at once so there's nothing to worry about. You should normally have also been given a checklist to sign (I'm not sure if this has changed), did you check to see that all your submitted documents were listed on the checklist?

It's not expected that you'd have a place at the point of your application so saying no or putting your school address is okay but you'd need to know what accommodation options are available to you if you're asked at any point.

Cancel and reapply because your kids can't travel with you if you didn't list them on your application as your dependants.

Even though you can use a cover letter to explain this later, it has a very high probability of not working because UKVI places the onus of application information correctness on the applicant and this might be categorized as non-disclosure of material fact (deception / misrepresentation) in the main applicant's application.
Kenaya17:
Did you indicate that you have kids while completing the form?
(Quote) (Report) (Like) (Share)

I did not. That's way I am worried.
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by mimilyrics:
2 options:
1. Withdraw your application before it's assessed and fill a new application but your visa fee won't be refunded. Ensure that you inform your school before you do this and let them know why.
2. Include a cover letter with your dependants' applications to explain the error. I can't categorically state that this will work because there's a section that states that all dependants be listed even if they are not travelling with you and UKVI places the onus of application information correctness on the applicant. It might also lead the UKVI to believe that you deliberately withheld this information (misrepresentation/ deception) as explaining that it was an error at a later point might not cut it; it will be difficult to prove that it was a genuine error.

Keep your school in the loop and bear in mind the application/decision timeline so you can act fast before a decision is made.
Kenaya17:
Please just wise..mimilyrics

I filled my form without my childrens names and I have done my biometrics...and I intend they join me later..please how do I recify this?

Those are evidences of previous travel which would have normally been stated in the part of the application that asks about previous travel history so they should be uploaded.
AKB1ofLagos:
thank you, I feel much better.
1 last question about this, they also uploaded their past and current visa pages, stamped passport pages and empty passport pages. I do not think that is necessary as I wasn't asked to upload that and I am a frequent flyer, I never upload such except when asked by embassies like Canada.

TLS
graceodini:
Did you mean it was updated by the UKVI or TLS?
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by mimilyrics: 9:08am On Sep 08, 2020
You don't need to upload your CAS, you only need to fill in the information on it into your form. UKVI has access to your CAS which is an electronic document.
AKB1ofLagos:
@mimilyrics and co. Is it mandatory to upload your CAS document in your application because every where I checked online says, only the CAS number should be included in your application and document used to obtain your CAS. Even the checklist asked for only that. Now I am confused as everyone around me says they uploaded it and I didn't.
Is there anybody here who didn't upload the document itself and got their visas?

Administrative review is available to all students who have been refused visas (this is usually stated on the refusal notices) but you'd have to download the AR form, fill it and send it to the email address on the refusal notice.
It takes roughly 2 weeks to conclude.
Success rate is something I can't categorically state since the AR process is like a black box outside of the visa application process.
Flezi1:

Just a random question. Is everyone who applys for a student visa give an administrative review for visa rejection.

Also What's the success rate and how long does it take for an administrative review,.

You'd get the same certificate as a student on the 3 year program would.
Nollywoodlove:
Really? Wow Thanks.

Thank you very much for your response. It seems like you're confusing my question though. I'm not going for a premasters or a pgD. It's a top-up program, which is supposed to certify me with a complete bachelors degree. As against trying hundreds of university to get lucky with masters, I am very fine with this arrangement. It is just for one year (so no finances problem as I don't have to get into masters afterwards), and it would give me the opportunity to drop the "third class" shadow which would otherwise always hover around my credentials`and may still affect future opportunities.

I just want to be sure if this topup is as it is described, and there's no hidden consequences. I believe that if I'd be given the same certificate as those who did full 3 years, no employer would be able to distinguish anyway, so that should prevent even the prejudiced ones from acting on their prejudice. But if there's something that indicates "top-up" on the certificate, it may pose a challenge. So I want to be sure of what I'm getting into.

Do you hold an admission offer from any UK university? If no, you'd need to apply and get accepted into a study programme before you apply for a T4 visa.

Also, T4 visas can be submitted anytime but this usually depends on your school's resumption and course start dates. Check the first page of the thread for more information; also schools usually provide information to guide their prospective students through the visa application process.
