In some cases, it takes one week and in others, it takes longer. Sometimes you don't even get it till you go to the BHC. I don't know if you can just go to the BHC now because of the Covid-19 situation. Case in point, for one overturned refusal, the passport wasn't returned to TLS within the normal expected timescales and it was only handed over by the BDHC after 2 visits. On the 1st visit, the applicant was asked to contact UKVI by the security guys but on the 2nd visit, the applicant was allowed in after stating that Sheffield redirected to the BDHC even though it wasn't exactly stated in plain terms. Upon receiving the passport, it showed that the visa had been issued like 2 weeks back but had expired because it had a 1-day validity; this had to be reprinted and it took roughly 1 hour. N5 million will not be enough. Living costs that you have to show in your account for schools in London is £1,265 per month * 9 months = £11,385. This alone is about N5.6 million using Oanda rate. Visa fee is £348, IHS is currently £300 for each year of your course but this goes up to £470 next month. The current total of this for a 3 year course is over £1,398 which is about N700,000 plus TB test is currently N57,800. Then tuition fees of a minimum of about £9,000 - £14,000 depending on the school. Convert this to Naira and you have over N5 million to pay in fees. Use Google or www.findamasters.com as a start point for your search. No one can do this for you as you need to find out this info by yourself so you can know and choose your best option by yourself. Have you applied to a uni yet? What course do you have your sights on? Do you hold an admission offer? If yes, you should know by now. If not, see link below https://www.gov.uk/tier-4-general-visa/eligibility N5 million will not be enough. 1. Use form A, it's normally cheaper than black market rate. Oanda rate is for use by the BHC, not the BDCs or the bank. 2. If after paying your tuition balance, it wouldn't have dipped below what you are required to show at any point in your 28-day count, then no problem. It's up to you. just4obitex: |

No, it's not but you have to know what accommodation options are available to you and the costs. I'm guessing that you used your school's address on your accomodation info on the application. uchevolata: |

You can use either of the apps in the attached screenshot. Check PlayStore or AppStore. Donracy:

In that case, you can start practicing for the UK theory test from Nigeria, get your provisional as soon as you get here, write your theory test and take your driving test after you feel confident that you can ace it. Donracy: |

The one-year entitlement to drive in the UK on licences from other countries expires exactly one year after you start living in the UK. Donracy: |
Go to TLS or mail UKVI to ask. Happened to a friend in 2016 but in her case, she didn't include her bank statement due to issues with her bank's system but she didn't want to miss her appointment. She was eventually able to get her statement the day after she had her biometrics and went back to TLS where she was given a Sheffield address to send the statement to via DHL. Her application got refused but 2 days after she picked up her passport/application decision, she got a mail to submit her passport for her visa because Sheffield had just received her statement which showed that she had the funds at the time of her application and had the statement sent to Sheffield before her application was accessed and assessed by the ECO even though it didn't get to the DMC before the decision was made. She got her visa about a week after passport submission. I'm not sure if it will work out same way in your situation but there's no harm in trying. Either that or wait for a refusal decision and reapply immediately as long as the funds have remained untouched in your account. MamaG2020: |
No, it won't. The driving courses you take are dependant on you. You'll need to get an international driver's licence that will entitle you to drive for a year but you will not be able to drive after this except you apply for and get your provisional driver's licence (£34 online application and £43 for postal applications); I suggest that you do this almost as soon as you get here because if you think about applying after your 1 year entitlement expires, it might be difficult to get due to the less than 4-6 months leave left on your BRP except you submit a BRP with extended leave. Once you get your provisional licence, you can take driving lessons and/or study for your theory test. Once you pass your theory test and you're confident about your driving and understanding of the driving rules/signs, you can register for your driving test. You can use the official DVLA theory test kit or the driving theory test for car drivers. Donracy: |
Even though you said that the agent filled in some wrong info for you, your application was refused for financial reasons, not misrepresentation. Usually, a visa refusal based on insufficient finance or lump logdements isn't an issue for subsequent applications as long as you can prove (in your subsequent applications) that your finances are truly available to you and that your economic situation in Nigeria is truly good enough for you not to break the bank on your trip. For student visas, once you've got the funds for 28-days, you explain previous refusals, and every other things check out, you've got a high chance of getting a visa as long as deception isn't involved. That said, the issue that I foresee with your application is the fake info filled in your previous applications as that's grounds for a 10-year ban for misrepresentation/ deception grounds. Even if you get away with the false info on Nos 1 and 3 as they are information bound to change with the passage of time, I don't see you getting away with number 2 as the onus is now on you to prove that you aren't married and that will require you to say the truth which exposes the false info on your application or lie which now shows you as an unrepentant individual bent on lying to UKVI for immigration fraud. And since the application was made/rejected in February, the information discrepancy as per your marital status will be evident in your new application and might raise eyebrows as to the veracity of your application information. The only 2 ways I see out of this are 1. You come clean on your application about the previously filled false info. This will most likely lead to a 10-year ban and subsequent applications after the ban is served will be subject to intense scrutiny. Or 2. [s]Keep up the lie with another or same set of false info and documents (showing marriage or divorce) which will lead to an outright ban if found out.[/s] Even if you get away with it now, it won't always be so. It will still crop up sometime in future especially if you find yourself getting married to someone in the UK. yormieK: |

You don't have to worry because as mattfeuter explained, the rate used to convert the funds in your account will be the Oanda rate for the day you submit, it doesn't matter if it surges a day(s) after or before your submission. Just the way the 28-day count must be completed before (not after) your submission, the rate to be used will be for the day you submit (not the rate for any day before or after your date of submission) Hubbysluv: |
You can only use cash funds in your case. So I'd advice that the treasury bills should be converted into cash and put in a savings/current account for the 28-day count. Pineberries: |
User pay fees. Applicants pay for using VI. Hubbysluv: |
1. It's okay to state them as your financial dependants. It doesn't matter whether your husband answers yes too since you're both financially responsible for them. 2. There's no hard and fast rule about this. Depends on you. UKVI rarely calls the main applicant before granting dependant visas except there's something that can't be clarified via email. My advice will be stay in the UK till they've got their visas since your going to Nigeria wouldn't have any impact on the decision outcomes or timelines. Risazii: |
No, it's not strange. It happens sometimes once the visa has been approved and BRP produced. Celomomo: |
It's just sticking to the facts as they are. If you're asked if you'll be getting married soon or having a dependant accompany you to the UK, then you should say yes, your fiance who will be your wife in few weeks will be joining you. But the answer to your marital status question is "single" until you have a document to prove otherwise. OralStone: |
You're single until you sign the dotted lines. There's no consequence for saying that you're single even if you're getting married 5 hours after the statement because it's the truth. After you get married, she can apply as your dependant and submit documents such as your wedding certificate, wedding pictures, a few pictures before your wedding, your BRP/vignette and any other document that can strengthen her application in connection to you. OralStone: |
The only option I can recommend is to use a friend or family who can pay for you while you give them the naira equivalent. gracedforever: |
There's no link and even where you go through the IHS link, you need to sign in to your account since the link is only available as a redirect from your application. toyclicks: |
Yes, you can submit your application without uploading your documents because the upload is usually after you've submitted and picked an appointment date but the funds must have matured before the submission even if you're printing after your submission. Hebraeem: |
Your proof of funds must be ready before your application submission, not biometrics appointment. If your funds have not spent 28 days in your account before submission, it will be an issue. If you decide to do either self upload or assisted service after you've submitted your application (which must be after the maturity of your proof of funds), it's not an issue. Hebraeem: |
Yes, you can though it will cost you about N11,700. Basically your checklist, appointment / application confirmation, passport, passport photocopy. pittoilet: |
No. The 6 month permitted stay for countries that don't require visas to visit the UK is for tourism purposes and short stays, not living purposes. You'll need to apply for a dependant visa for your dependant before entry in the UK. Petiteashitta: |
You'll have to upload it since you're not meeting with the ECO, your appointment is for your biometrics except you're using assisted service. The ECO will access it as part of your uploaded docs. pittoilet: |
It doesn't matter who deposited the funds into the account (there's even no need to capture this) as long as the funds are held for 28 days after the deposit or more and it's not a threat to getting her CAS. eddymatti: |
Yes you can. Either option is okay depending on your preference. Flezi1: |
