I think you're mixing it up with the 28-days requirement. Even though you have to show the money you need for 28 days prior to your online application, the printed account statement must not be older than 31 days. You have up till the day of your biometrics to upload your documents so it shouldn't be a problem. Edit: I actually meant online application, not biometrics. Biometrics is just to register your biometrics and take your interview except you're using the assisted service. Donracy: |
I'll definitely let you know. You can count on that Thanks for offering.duchess90: |
Yaaaaaay! Congratulations! We should celebrate this o. Looking at next month. duchess90: |
I understand you. I only stated a situation in which it could work without being termed self-employment for clarification purpose - if the person is employed with a proper employment contract and with all the clauses regarding regular employment e.t.c. justwise: |
You'd have to prove to the ECO that your economic situation in Nigeria is stable and strong enough to warrant you returning to Nigeria i.e. employment / business with stable income. Even though you have 5k savings, your regular income is what will be largely used to judge your financial capabilities because in this case, you have every reason to want to stay back in the UK. Without proof of a stable and satisfactory income, your application will be refused. You don't need a passport photograph; your picture will be taken at the VAC. You can use tiny scan app to scan and convert to pdf. If you use the electronic one, you'd need a letter from your bank to back it up. Terminalbond: |
On the day you submit, not fill. Yes, you can. Arhmiee: |
You need to show that you've had the money in your account from June 22 - July 20 since that's the 28 days preceding your online application. Based on the above, your pre-CAS statement can't be used but your account statement from June 9- July 22 as you've stated can be used (The ECO will count 28 days backwards from July 20 which is your submission date). You don't need to start a fresh 28-day count. Sanitizer: |
If he has to work as a taxi driver, it should be more like a part-employment where the employer treats him like an employer, not an independent contractor. Plus if the company is deducting the driver's NI contributions and tax and remitting to HMRC for the driver and evidenced in a pay slip, it can't be termed a gig economy job anymore. Uber drivers termed gig economy because they are responsible for paying their own taxes and National Insurance contributions and must also complete a self-assessment tax return each year. Any job that allows you to do this falls under self-employment. I'm don't know about blueline taxi but it depends largely on the employment terms as outlined above. Skymoore1004: |
It does. See an explanation in the link below; https://warwick.ac.uk/study/international/immigration/tier4/working/self_employment_examples.pdf Driving a taxi requires getting private hire licence from a council or TFL as the case may be; costs about £95 but this varies and depends on a range of factors. Skymoore1004: |
There's a part of the form where you'll fill in details of what the applicant will be doing in the UK and in some cases how visiting the places will benefit the applicant can be included; no need to attach itineraries. At least all the applications I've worked on had no itineraries attached and they got their visas. Heritagee: |
It's self employment and that's not allowed under Tier 4 rules. Some people might have done it and gotten away with it but you might not be so lucky. AWFCNAIJA: |
If you do that, the bank statement won't reflect the amount you require for the 28 days before your application. Aug 3-10 (which is part of the 28-day count) will not be shown on your statement and will lead to a refusal of your application because the ECO will state that you've not shown that the money you rely on is truly available to you because you've not held the money for the 28 days preceding your application. Arhmiee: |
Where in the UK are you going to? What are the things you'd be doing there? What are the places you'd be visiting? How much will you be spending on getting into those places or transporting yourself to those places? The information you gather will help you plan your itenerary and expenditure. Heritagee: |
Please don't waste your application fees or jeopardize your application with a mistake that can be avoided because even AR wouldn't fix this. Your statement should be 28 days preceding your application which in your case will be from about June 28-July 26. The statement can be printed and used within 30 days of you printing it from your bank i.e. if you print your statement from June 28 or 27 - July 26 (or beyond if you wish. The ECO will count 28 days backwards from your submission date) on Aug 4. That your school said it's okay doesn't mean that you can. The statement doesn't capture the 28 days prior to your online submission; it only captures the 28 days prior to you submitting it to your school for your CAS and there have been days unaccounted for in that statement before you submitted your online application. If you don't print a statement capturing the 28 days prior to the online submission of your application, your application will be refused. You can print a new statement closer to your appointment but it must capture the 28 days prior to your online application submission which in your case is around June 28 - July 26; you can print from June 27 or 26 to be on the safe side. PS: if the money dipped in any way in the days prior to your online submission, pls cancel your current application + visa appointment (you'll be refunded since you've not registered your biometrics) and start your 28-day count again before submitting new application. No offense intended with this pls. IsJustGrace: |
The statement should be 28 days before you submit your visa application online, not 28 days before you get your CAS. Or did you submit your visa application on July 14? You can use the statement if you submitted your application on July 14. IsJustGrace: |
Yes, you will. The statement that you submitted to your school for CAS doesn't include the mandatory 28 days preceding the online submission of your visa application. IsJustGrace: |
I would suggest that you liquidate the fixed deposit and put it in a regular current or savings account. Prior to 2016 when the guidance changed, certificates of deposit were acceptable in the prescribed manner (must not be frozen or inaccessible) as long as they were issued within 31 days of your application and covering the 28 days preceeding your visa payment online. Now the guidance does not explicitly mention fixed deposits and the areas of the guidance that imply it can be interpreted either way by the ECO. Ologtheo: |
A company can only qualify as a financial sponsor if it's an international/multinational company. You don't need a bank statement for this, a stamped letter of sponsorship in the prescribed UKVI format on the organization's letterhead clearly showing at least 2 of the company's locations in 2 different countries is all that you need. They must have a website with their international operating addresses stated. The following details must be in the letter: 1. your name, date of birth, passport details. 2. the name and contact details of your official financial sponsor; 3. the date of the letter; 4. the length of your sponsorship; and 5. the amount of money the sponsor is giving to you or a statement that your official financial sponsor will cover all of your fees and living costs. Note: the sponsorship amount must be clearly stated (to avoid a refusal) and the company's addresses must be clearly shown on the letterhead. You might also be asked why the company is sponsoring you and if you personally know anyone in the company during your tier 4 visa interview. Lianalexa: |
No, it doesn't. Your bank statement is sufficient as long as the funds have been in it in the manner prescribed by UKVI. SAMDEEA123: |
This will be calculated using your tax code and I can't be definite about how much will be deducted but as long as you're below the personal income threshold, you'll only pay something little for NI and nothing for tax. Use the link below as a calculation guide: https://listentotaxman.com/m/ buddie: |
You won't be allowed to graduate without offsetting your tuition balance. Without graduating, you won't be able to take advantage of the PSW. You won't get your certificate with pending tuition payments. There are deadlines for tuition payments and extending tuition from prior study years to the placement year is unlikely. Failure to meet all payment deadlines might result in the school reporting you to UKVI which will lead to a curtailment of your visa. How much you make during summer holidays depends on how many hours you're able to work and that largely depends on the industry (hospitality, care, nightlife) you work in. i.e. if you're able to work 40 hours/week at minimum wage during summer holidays, that will be 40 hours * £9.20 = £368 weekly. buddie: |
As a married woman, you're not obliged to change your name if you don't want to (UKVI understands this) and it doesn't affect your marital status when filling forms. You can use your maiden name and tick the married box. Since your maiden name is on all your documents (including passport and account) and you don't want to get a new passport in your husband's last name, just fill in your maiden name on your visa application form and select married and input your husband's details. In this case, you don't need your wedding certificate except your hubby is applying with you since all your legal documents have the same name on them. EkeneMiriam: |
Yes, your marriage certificate is enough proof of change of name for UKVI. You're not required to submit an affidavit for that except you choose to. Anitaamich: |
What I meant was that the name on your passport must match the name on your account and if there's any discrepancy, you should fix it. You don't need the change of name affidavit since all your documents including passport/account are still in your maiden name. Your visa/brp will be issued in your maiden name which is what you currently have on your passport. If you want your new last name (husband's surname) to be reflected on your visa/brp, you'll need to change the name on your passport . NOTE: your wedding certificate, along with your passport in your new name is enough to prove change of name with UKVI if need be. EkeneMiriam: |
No. You will need information from your CAS for your visa application. bayosegun: |
What name is on your passport? Is it the same as the name on your bank account? If yes, then your wedding certificate is okay to show a link between the name on your passport/account and other documents you got prior to your marriage/change of name. If not, update your name with your bank so that the name on your passport and visa application match the name on your bank account. EkeneMiriam: |
I'll send you a message on WhatsApp now. Mimzyy: |
Congrats babe! I just guessed it was you from your moniker and your pic proved it. How's our princess? #winksMimzyy: |
Lol! If you read my comment again, you'd see that my comment was a temporary note of caution which was based on the loopholes then, the fact that UCard and Monzo operate similar models and because institutions like UCard and Monzo sometimes share providers for certain services. I stated that I wouldn't advice it at the time, I didn't say forever. Or would you rather I stick to my past opinion even though the issue that necessitated my comment has been fixed? Bourne007: |
As I stated then, it was a temporary note of caution as a result of the UCard issue pending when the FCA fixed the loopholes that were existent then. The Ucard issue has been sorted now and the loopholes fixed.Monzo is to get the OP ready for transaction upon arrival in the UK before shopping for other banks after sorting enrolment and settling down. Bourne007: |
In the UK. Once you sort your accomodation, you can open a monzo account from your phone using your passport/any govt issued ID and get your debit card in 2-5 working days or get a status letter from your school (after your enrolment) to open a traditional bank account. For Monzo, you can pay the £ cash you had from Nigeria into your account at any post office since it's not a brick and mortar bank. If you have to do it in Nigeria, it can be daunting because most banks give the $ card so if you get that, you need to fund your card with $ before you leave (this might end up being expensive in the long run). If you can get a £ card in Nigeria, then you can fund that through transfer to enable you do pos/web payments in the UK; you will only be able to withdraw Forex deposited in cash via cash. jadepinkett: |
It's okay. An abnormal test doesn't always mean that you have TB, it only means that there's something not normal on the test and in your case, it's not TB because the referral has stated what caused the abnormality. Gbp2020: |
