No. It's for full-time permanent positions. jamela: Hi guys please help me answer this:
Can I get a Tier 2 Visa for a part time job?
More specifically, the job offers 0.5FTE for 3 years. This means I would be working for half the total work hours in a week, I am wondering if this position is eligible for Tier2 sponsorship? |

Try Ree-Danielles at Ojota, De Rembrandt on Emina crescent around Allen or Silver Grandeur on Agbor st at Ajao Estate, Ikeja. Ree-Danielles and De Rembrandt are the closest to IOM. Price and food are good but not sure about their current situations though. There are external food outlets close to the first 2 if you decide to eat out. obodooma: Great People,
Please who can suggest a cheap hotel/guest house of not more than 10k per night close to IOM office in Ikeja.

It doesn't make it false, but it's not in force yet. For the IHS, your colleagues probably renewed prior to when the free visa extension was announced: the announcement covered visas that expired from March. The overall waiver's still under review and hasn't been effected, only the free visa extension + IHS has been effected so until it's effected, it can't be relied on. I can only speak on what I know and can assume that based on the screenshot, your friend might have been processed as already working for the NHS to enable him qualify for the visa extension and exception for NHS staff hence, the expedition of the updated visa vignette which I doubt. If yet-to-resume and overseas NHS staff are regarded as existing staff of NHS without having resumed at the office, then it makes sense. Anyway, I hope it's an honest mistake or erroneous report else, this will further dent Nigerian's image and credibility. thiagoteres: I posted a link to the news. I have colleagues who initially paid for health surcharge (not free visa extension o) for training position due to start in August that have been refunded. I used that analogy for the current discourse because I couldn't find any link to the scrapped health surcharge also on the government website. Does that then make it false? The initial attached screenshot was an earlier mail sent to someone that eventually got electronic visa waiver to start work during this lockdown. VACs would be opening up soon anyway ,so that process may no longer be applicable. |

The health surcharge hasn't been scrapped yet; NHS workers with visas expiring after October 1st will still need to pay. The PM promised to scrap it but it's not done yet. Yes, I read it. What's the source? thiagoteres: Now I see the misunderstanding. You are talking about free visa extension for selected NHS workers while I am talking about health surcharge that has been scrapped for all NHS workers .

I have attached a screenshot of email they received. The requirements for the waiver is u have an expired vignette, VACs is still closed in your country and u have secured a flight to the UK to resume work in the NHS. A 15-year-old should also know that the UK does not grant and has not granted visa waivers to any nationality outside of those whose countries which have pre-existing visa waiver agreements with the UK. Whether the Nigerian government is directly involved or not in this particular situation, it doesn't change the current UK visa policies. I spoke not about why this particular situation happened but seek to correct the comments saying the UK granted visa waivers or letters to people with expired visa vignettes; even British citizens stuck abroad without passports have to wait for the VACs to open to apply for new passports except in dire emergencies. abnot: Even a 15 year old Nigerian knows about needing a visa/pre-authorization to travel to EU member states. What will make 58 Nigerian doctors attempt to travel to UK without any visa/authorization ? What will make 60 Nigerian doctors arrange a chartered jet ? The UK government was directly or indirectly involved in this arrangement. Forget about the norm these are not normal times. The chartered aircraft got a landing permit to arrive in Lagos. How did they get this permit without the Nigerian government. Not everything we read on the papers are true. We have heard the NIS version of the story. Hopefully one or two of the physicians denied boarding will also say their side of the story. |

Sigh! So much misinformation in one post. There are no special visa waivers for doctors or essential workers outside the UK. The only time that you can resume a new job with an expired visa is if you were already in the UK before your previous visa expired and you must have submitted an application 28 days leading up to your visa expiration. Everyone who had valid leave at the onset of Covid-19 and who couldn't get quick decisions on their new applications can still resume new jobs while waiting for their new visas. hopesony: Please, note that these 58 doctors were granted waivers by the UK government hence they sent the flight to come pick them. Initially had their visas and were billed to have travelled before international flight restrictions were imposed. This is a special waiver granted to these essential health workers because their services is highly needed by the NHS-UK. They already have jobx waiting for them. |

They are not. Stop saying what UKVI hasn't said. There are no electronic visas for Nigerians. Any visa to a Nigerian national has to be on the person's passport. VACs are closed and UKVI has said that those with expired visa vignettes can apply for new vignettes once the VACs in their countries are open. The only change in the visa application procedures (with the exception of provisions for NHS and healthcare staff) are for visitors stranded in the UK who would have had to return to their countries to make new applications. thiagoteres: People with expired vignette are being granted electronic visa waiver to travel . Electronic because VACs were closed. You are stating the pre-covid procedure which I know. This shouldn't even be up for argument. |
Travel › Re: Immigration Stops 58 Doctors From Travelling To The UK by mimilyrics: 11:10pm On Jul 10, 2020 |
Sigh! The only allowance made is for NHS and healthcare workers whose visas expired and couldn't be renewed because of Covid-19. UKVI itself has stated that people with expired visa vignettes will have to wait till VACs in their countries are open to applications to request for new vignettes. Even British Nationals have to wait till VACs are open to apply for passports if they need one for any reason. Pls don't quote what the UKVI hasn't said; don't mislead people. You can't get an electronic visa waiver if you're a Nigerian National and it is not granted on case by case basis to Nigerians at all. Other countries with visa waiver agreements with UK can apply for visa waivers but not Nigerians because Nigeria has no such agreement with the UK. thiagoteres: The pandemic is a new frontier for everyone. The concept of visa waiver that existed between UK and some countries has been extended to intending essential workers from from other countries. These people most likely hold the initial visa vignette which must have expired due to lock down. The fact is you can get an electronic visa waiver to enable you pick up your BRP if your initial vignette is expired. This is granted on a case by case basis. |

The only letter the UK will give you as a holder of an immigrant entry visa or (leave to enter) will be your BRP letter and this letter cannot be used as proof of entry authorization without the visa vignette in your passport. abnot: They all had letters from the UK Home Office and the UK also sent a jet to convey them. It's part of the Covid strategy as countries (uk, usa etc )are looking for doctors. The UK high commission visa section is currently closed thus the government made this arrangement though Nigerian government countered it. A set of over 100 doctors left for USA about two weeks ago .Air peace conveyed them to Lome, Togo (Ethiopian airline's mini west african hub). From Lome they all boarded an Ethiopian airlines flight to USA. Nigerian government had to pull this move else there will be no more doctors left here lol . |

The UK visa waiver arrangement excludes holders of the Nigerian passports. If you hold a Nigerian passport, you can only get a visa or visa vignette and this will have to be in your passport, not as an electronic document. knowles89: Before you spew this trash with confidence, Hope you know they were issued Visa waivers by UKVI for the travel. |

Health workers with valid leave in the UK, not in Nigeria. Even those with the expired 30-day vignettes have to wait till the VACs are open for applications to apply for a renewal of their vignettes. thiagoteres: He is actually very correct. This arrangement is for health workers. |

I think you are mixing it up with the free visa extensions for NHS staff. There's currently no visa waivers for doctors to travel to the UK. You're right, CAS is usually processed from 3 months before course start date as long as you've fulfilled all your admission offer conditions. Your school is in the best position to answer questions about their delay. Since you've mailed them, wait for their response on why they won't be processing CAS before then; this will help you decide on an appropriate course of action. naledis: Hi everyone.
I know CAS can be issued 3 months from course start date. Is it odd that Uni of Sunderland London (or at least the admissions staff who replied my email) said I should leave my CAS request till middle of August considering my course start date is October 19.

Since your school representative said not to worry, then don't worry; you can get this in writing for your own peace of mind. This wouldn't affect your visa application; the school only wants to know (diligence checks) if you've been denied before and for what reasons to enable them know if this will affect your chances of getting a visa (if they sponsor you and you get refused a visa for certain reasons, it can affect a T4 sponsor licence in the long run). Since you've gotten a UK visa before, they are probably not worried about your chances at a T4 visa. However, it can become a problem when you don't declare this in your visa application. As long as you declare the refusal + refusal reason in your T4 visa application and ensure that you have all your documents and that you don't fall short of any of the T4 rules and regulations, you're good to go. hadidej: I have a concern. The School Rep filled my application form and that was before i came to this platform (Before I knew I could do it myself and do not need an agent). I have visited the the USA before but was denied when i applied again about two years ago for no explained reasons. I have also been to the UK many times. I even spent the last Christmas there with my family. I asked her if she could change it to ''YES'' because I have being denied visa before and she says it doesn't matter. I already have an offer letter from school and also have paid the initial first deposit. Infact the only reason I requested for the application form was just to sight it. Is this an issue? And supposing i'm asked, should i just mention that the agent made a mistake? Kindly advise....... |

Why don't you ask your wife about this? The asthma might have just developed recently; it's not uncommon for adults, who have never had asthma, to develop asthma. When it's well managed, you'll barely notice that it's there. She might be struggling to wrap her head around having asthma if it only just developed/manifested in her recently and she might be unsure about how to broach this with you; if your reactions to certain situations in the past have been emotionally charged, it might be a reason for the delay in telling you. If her answer points to the fact that it had been existing before you both got married, the both of you need to go back to the drawing board to ascertain what the root issue is to enable you reach a lasting solution and not just patching over issues. It doesn't make her a bad wife, it just means that both of you need to be more open with communication as this is key in building a long-lasting and happy marriage. At the end of the day, the decision is up to you; if you can go on without wondering what else she's hiding or has lied about and without wanting to "punish" her for it, good but if not, leave. You can't eat your cake and have it; it's one or the other. kingeze88: I Opened My Wife's Bag In Search Of My Wristwatch, See What I Saw After 8 Years In Marriage. I have been living a righteous and faithful life before I got married, now that I am married, the whole story changed. At first I trusted my wife so much that made me believe every single thing she says, not knowing she is another thing entirely.
I was at home this faithful day, I got a call from my customer that I should come for the money he promised to give me, I quickly went to the bathroom, took a shower, put on a shirt, then I can't find my wristwatch, during this period, my wife was not at home, I was confused totally, I couldn't think straight, I had to carry my wife's bag closer to see if I can find her wristwatch.
While I was searching her bag, I saw a small nylon, I opened it and found an inhaler, I was shocked and I thought maybe it's not for her, not until I found an hospital report in an envelope, my wife's full name was written on this letter, and the doctor reported that she shouldn't miss any of her drug, advised her to do away from taking cold drinks and to keep the inhaler close to herself anywhere she go.
I started thinking, I began to ask myself various questions; is my wife an asthmatic patient? , how could she hide such secret from me after 8 years in marriage, or am I dreaming?

Did you read further to the part where you need to prove that your parent is sick, disabled or aged, needs help with daily living and doesn't have available care or access to affordable care? The success of the application is hinged on this and that's why many people shy away from making this kind of application. You need to prove that all of the above situations exist in addition to the settled status and finance of the child. i.e. In a situation where you've got your siblings (your parents' children) /family (your parents' spouse) in Nigeria with your parents, you'd need to prove that they can't provide care or help with your parents' daily living. Speaking from experience, when the parent is aged with no immediate family in Nigeria, it's easier. Phayie: https://www.gov.uk/uk-family-visa/adult-dependent-relative |

Yes, it's okay. Having more funds than you require is to your advantage. Note: If your funds don't go below the required funds at any point during the 28 day count prior to your online application submission, it doesn't matter if you add more funds. But if the funds go below the required funds prior to adding more money / at any point during the 28-day count or if you are adding more money because your funds have already dropped below what you need, you'd need to start your 28-day count again from the point (the day after the new deposit) where you had the complete funds or more.
