Can I advice you? food business is not easy as people think. I have invested over N6million in my Cafe. But still yet to benefit from it, because Nigerians are not sincere people. People don't know what it took you to start your business but will want to steal from your business and this kills business quick and you need to be very available on ground to monitor the business.

Think wide, think smart there are alot of business you can start with that amount and realized good profit without my stress and anger inside of you

Don't always rush to the public space to disgrace or better still, show your ignorance. The agreement signed by ASUU is that once an academic attains the rank of a professor, he/she should retire at 70. And those who couldn't attain the rank should retire at 65.. Common wisdom supports the argument of ASUU given the number of years academics spend to obtain degrees.

A Manager in one of the top notched new generation banks made me hated my life. He liked my younger sister, and wanted her. Therefore, he tried to bully me into having his way to her.

I was just a contract staff relieving someone in the branch. And one of the tellers had a shortage of 50k, he(the manager) said I stole the money because I was the first to leave the banking hall(with due permission from the ABM).

Because I was a new contract staff, Obafemi thought I didn't know my right and was daft. He threatened to froze my account, I bluntly told him he had no right and proof against me.

I got fed up and wrote a resignation letter, because it was a three weeks contract, and I had already done 1.5 weeks. It wasn't worth it. The pay was so small. My parents advised me to just let go, before he implicated me further.

I reported the case to the regional manager, but because they were all Yorubas and I wasn't, they spoke in their local dialect and sold me off( Reasons for sudden hate on Yoruba Muslims from Osun).

He wrote on my resignation letter that I stole, hence, I wanted to resign. When I saw that, I told him "Obafemi, I would fight this to the last drop of my blood, it has just begun".

I went straight to the headquarters and reported the case to compliance. Compliance said they were not aware of any shortage from the branch. That it was a case of witch hunting or artificial shortage.

I told them about the conspiracy between Obafemi and the yoruba boss. Compliance pulled out their secret chats and realised the boss and Obafemi had something fishy going on.

I went straight to the bank portal and whistle blew Obafemi. Showing proofs, and I uploaded the letter where he claimed I stole money. He was doing this without the consent of compliance, and without the knowledge of the bank. It wasn't in his power to write such on my letter when the case hasn't been investigated.

The case was investigated and Obafemi was the guilty one. Headquarters nearly suspended him. I left the bank. My account wasn't frozen. I got my full pay. I hate bank jobs today.

This made me vow never to work in a bank. Today, I'm self employed and earning 10x their paltry sum.

The regional manager was also witch hunted and he resigned one month after.

There are many job opportunities especially in academia. Most Nigerian universities are understaffed. During resource verification/accreditation, you would see many departments borrowing personnel from other places. Don't be discouraged from pursuing your PhD,one day, nature would create your own opening. Remember when preparation meets opportunity, success results.

My guy, NUC accreditation is charade when you see what departments do to gain accreditation. Don't you know that some Universities prefer sourcing existing personnel from other institutions rather than recruiting.

PhD pursuit isn't for opportunities but to contribute to knowledge production.

I beg to disagree. There are several PhD holders that are seeking for jobs iin Nigeria. I know a good number of them personally.

Great policy maker, congratulations to start with. Some academics in Nigeria had Third Class and were able to rise through ranks. Some became professors in their various fields. It is important to point out that competition for lectureship position weren't that stiff that's if at all it was there.

Today, given the level of unemployment in Nigeria, almost everybody want to be academic even when they have no business being there. It might interest you to know that remuneration in the profession in Nigeria is not fair. It was in time past that people go into the profession due to passion.

Given the level of competition as a result of unemployment, most universities stipulate 2.1 at BSc ldespite higher degrees.. However, if you have PhD and publications iin high impact factor journal, you might be considered.

Please borrow sense. So we were told that 2.1 opens doors. We nearly killed ourselves to attain it, yet the doors were not open even for those of us who had 4.22. Not even scholarship door. The only door that opened was MSc door in Nigeria. On the course of MSc, we were told that PhD grade opens doors. We went for it and secured it. Yet doors were opened for those who had MPhil grade. Not even MPhil/PhD grade.

He's somewhat right. Few days ago my landlord told me that he regretted investing in his money after retirement from oil and gas in building houses for tenants. That the block he used N50m to build can give him only N2.5m annually if the entire flats are rented. Meanwhile, there are five units of decent virgin one bedroom flat yet to rent (Ph residents if you are interested, buss me. Goes for about N400k each. Over make sense worry am. 24 hour water supply and a lot of facilities. Na only bad road affect the house). But if he had used the money on TB, he would be getting at least N5m annually even if TB is at 10%. That he knew all these but invested in the building for his children. Since some children might abuse cash in his absent.
He said worst still is the fact that some tenants instead of renewing his rent will be telling him, "Oga Landlord, what do you want to use all these money for". He said the way some of his earlier tenants handled his house has made him to put caution fee in his new houses.
