@ OP As for #3, joint account is what I understand but if it works for you, it's progress still # 7, hmmmmm, that depends on your household finances/budget and from your post, is your wife staying home still an affordable choice for your family? I think you should both ponder that. By the way, nice to see a family section thread like this on the front page |
Isn't that prison garb he's wearing? If he had any real sense, doubtful he'd be in prison in the first place |
obiajurum25: When asked about the lessons he learnt from his relationship with his ex-wife actress Ayo Adesanya, movie producer/cum actor Omogoriola Hassan said marrying Ayo was like boarding a 'one-chance' vehicle. He tells Encomium magazine:That is so lousy! so you thought it important to announce that to the whole world ![]() |

@ OP Only quit if you are fairly sure you can stay back legally and job prospects are good |
Pls is it good cos one would definitely feel 'the poorest' if he/she cannot afford the current trend as others? That is a truly sad statement - never, ever be ashamed because you cannot/will not keep up with the Joneses. That should never define youHold your head high always and work on building your self esteem so that you are not belittled because you don't have what others have/pretend to have |
AjanleKoko: It's kinda sad that we Nigerians only measure life by monetary standards.[/b]And that, my friends, is mental bondage of great magnitude It's a good idea to not just travel but open your eyes wide, see how other people live and realize money is not god afterall. All the "fi eje run" on top toro kobo is not always worth it and you can't take it with you. Aim for the best quality of life you can access without breaking the law |
Pretty |
That man in the first pix needs a lesson in self control |
I like these old school parties |
The other side of the coin! There has always been money in Naija, money did not just arrive so nothing new there. It is because of the continued descent into hopelessness that everyone now makes so much noise about money. In the days when people could afford a reasonably comfortable lifestyle, crass display of wealth was considered uncultured behavior. Not like today where you have so many money-miss-roads aka no visible source of income making noise. Granted there are significant numbers of nouveau riche and political looters/419 today but let's talk about the everyday man. The people you describe above (by the way, buying tankers load of diesel and water, paying for security, are not considered measures of wealth in sane climes) are a tiny minority, you do not measure the progress/wellbeing of a nation by it's richest what? 0.01 or is it 1 % or whatever the figure is. You measure using the average man. The sad part is those ruining this country know better. They go out, they see how things work and yet can only dream of unlimited lootocracy. One of tbe saddest things I hear today is this talk of if you have money, you will enjoy Naija. Nope!!! If you have no moral values, if all you can reduce your existence to is the pursuit of money, if you love oppressing the havenots and being the envy of the majority poor - then you will enjoy your money in Naija. If you have a strong moral code, having money in Naija will not insulate you from the rubbish that takes place. Sadly, the rubbish is the norm |
Why do these discussions always turn to money? I won't argue about who makes more or less money but I can tell you authoritatively that money is not all you need to live in Naija By the way, do not be deceived/consoled by the propaganda about everyone washing plates and no savings/net worth overseas There are loads of Naija professionals, eveyday people living very comfortably, good jobs, good benefits, retirement and education plans in place And it's a common misconception that Naijas don't have mortgages/loans. Tons of oil workers, bankers, and telcos staff (the key group a bank will lend to) have cooperative and bank loans they are servicing The typical Naija based professional does not pay cash for houses worth tens of millions of naira |
This is getting interesting |
@ girl (nothing to do with proper or not) Oh no !!!! What were you smoking? |
I will praise thee, oh Lord And shout "alleluia" |
Why was my last post in the burn Naija passport thread hidden? |
Very accurate The Oyinbo man has not lied |
Poor gal, she said her father "does not make $300 in a month" - that made me shed tears, you can see she truly couldn't afford that loss Here's someone in search of the golden fleece, gone to another man's land to pursue her education, probably under scholarship funding from same university, no bribery, no man know man Safe to assume she got her admission on the strength of her scholastic abilities and has been diligent about focusing on her education The one time she needed her country to stand behind her, help with a Naija pasport (with her paying all consular fees of course) because no other country or person can help with that - she loses $300 non-reimburseable smh As for "intervention" I don't see what a host country can do. That is the power/error of sovereignty, they can't dictate what a country's embassy does If/when the Naija ambassador shows face on this matter, I expect him to come and blame some faceless clerical staff or better still something like "technical difficulties" with the website, and their "Engineers" are "working day and night to fix it." |

As long as it's age and tummy type/size appropriate, it's fine If you are too old to be wearing it or you have belly fat, not a good idea |
