murphyjoe: What is wrong with what he said since churches are springing up everywhere and there and nothing is wrong with that but when it comes to mosques why are we condemning it spread. I personally hypocrisy is our bane in this part of the country we tend not to see anything good from other side of the Niger but everything about spread of christianity is cool. The minister is a Muslim and we are shouting more than the bereave. We have criminals in all religious sect be it christianity,Islam & Traditional worshippers all form of criminality should be condemned and not the religion. My take! Those churches are useless and should not be allowed to spring up everywhere as they do. That does not make this man's comment any less wrong. |

Exkandayee: Raise money, come to America,I swear you'll find decent women Na lie. American men are talking about going to Latin America, Africa and Asia to find good women and here you are lying to African men about the quality of western women. American family court is full of men getting screwed over by the judicial system, whether that be due to divorce rape, child support garnishing wages or worse, men in prison because they find themselves unable to pay their child support and lead a dignified existence. Lawyers across America have built comfortable retirement nests as a result of the crooked judicial system that profits from the plethora of broken families. Women who act in bad faith are to be found everywhere. The story that OP told about a woman opening her legs to another man a week before her wedding is not unique to Nigeria. I can assure you that somewhere outside of Nigeria (probably in your beloved north America) there is a woman doing the very same, as we type. |

soundOsonic: I love the culture, aged individual means trust. Why? They have a name to preserve, then people were cautious about what they will be known for after death. Respect was given to a trustworthy and a honest man. Now respect is given to men with money. No one cares about how you make the money. Even if you ask them the source of the wealth, they will tell you, why you didn't investigate the source of their poverty then. But now, things are different, no one place value on trust again. That's why politicians are respected. Shame on this generation. We place value on the superficial, what we see outside The world is full of untrustworthy old people. |

superemmy: Why can't we build subways, tram, interdistrict commuter mini-trains like advanced countries to decongest traffic.
We have the money yet no one uses his brain in government to know its possible.
After they see all these things in developed countries they come back here chasing lifelong ambitions with nothing to show for it.
Nigerians jus like to suffer They do nonsense because it's what the people are used to and the political class know that they can get away with providing virtually nothing. The fact that no one from the political class has been killed by the masses despite the gross underdevelopment gives them the impetus to continue with the messed up status quo. Until the criminal-politicians are made to fear for their lives, en masse, Nigeria's problems will continue as we all met them. |

He should forget about the girl's actions and continue being a decent Man. I come in Peace Brother. Your argument is without merit. A man who is disrespected without cause has every right to complain. One of the reasons why Nigeria is a mess is because people keep seeing good people being maltreated and evil doers being protected and rewarded. kolnel: Very interesting, just as expected. It's hard for Africans to do things rightly. Something must go wrong I still think it's because we are different people who are forced to live together. The solution might still lie in the disintegration of the entity called Nigeria. The only reason why Nigeria is still together is corruption. The thieving politicians know they won't stand a chance if all regions are allowed to go. It's very sad! Don't put this on all Africans. This is a Nigerian problem. Reference: But the same thing is happening in education where a dispute in a school far away will lead to industrial action, health same thing, security, the economy. A tanker driver somewhere is unjustly treated and the nation;s energy sector is totally grounded.
Due to our poor structure every little challenge become a national emergency. When we say restructure to create multiple redundancies in public service across board, the owners of Nigeria will say no. They feel that the quest to make the nation more resilient undermines their desires to have the back door constantly unlatched for vermin to creep in.
You can imagine if this nation faced external threats. Just one saboteur creeping in across the border and knocking down a few electric poles in a far away forest will cripple the entire country. We are indeed too weak to be called a viable society of unified nationals.... too weak and too ignorant. There's no need to create external threats so long as Nigeria is saddled with northern Nigeria. Whenever a rational proposal is put forward they are the first ones to kick against it. It's like trying to walk with your legs anchored to a truck. |
