Thank you for your response. I have moved on with my life, but in regards to your comment --- "Silence they say means acceptance", I disagree. Silence could mean a number of things, and in moving on I have mulled over potential meanings for his silence, but I have come up with only one. That is, silence has no true meaning, it's simply results in confusion. I truly believe that he wanted to leave me confused, because if he genuinely had accepted the terms of my agreement, he would have simply responded with a 'goodbye'.

I disagree too. Silence makes one feeling very confused. Even if one wants to move on, who says replying a message or communicating saying good bye or something will say a different story. No. It just shows one respected the fact there was a relationship, even though it's over.

first let me say that what you dont know cannot hurt you so in my book, if a person has lived +10yrs of marital bliss had children and then found something that make them broke up then this person has had +10yrs of happiness and that cannot be taken lightly therefore, although the marriage is no more, this person has had a wonderful time of happiness. just the experiences of going through marriage, finding that special someone, waking up next to that person, being with a person you love and want to share the rest of your life, that alone should be worth whatever headache you will get at the end of the union.
better have happiness in small packages than no happiness at all.
like i said earlier thats my views because i believe that the day i found someone to "MARRY" then that person will be so special that even if i only spend 10yrs with her, it would be 10yrs of walking on heaven.

Even after I have married her, I'm more concerned about moving the marriage forward to work better rather than dig up dirt from the past but there's a little addition to that : If I find out she did something and that leads to her telling me about a similar situation in the past which I never knew about, I will retrieve caution from the air and watch with my eyes wide open. Marriage can not be in any way compared to Courtship. Even if you break up after marriage, there will have been some sort of success which includes but not limited to : Having lived a happy life, beautiful kids and the reminisce of the happiness we have shared as a family and that, you can never, find in any courtship. If I have to choose between the two break ups, I will go with marriage break up because I have something to show for it.

Somewhat serious But according to my own thoughts and opinion, he has a future ahead of him. I would think if he knows a better life is out there for him rather than close to home, then he should go for it to be successful and help himself and mother since the dad is turning a deaf ear. Assuming he cannot do anything here back home, and just staying with the mum, of what use? There would be nothing on the table, so if he feels abroad is best for him, get his Masters, highest 2yrs or not up to, then come back, who says he wouldn't be able to get a more rewarding job back home and help his mum too.


Another, wonder why the dad married the mum in the first place against his own mum's wish if he knew he wouldn't stand it or back off after a while ?

Your mum wants you to wear a particular shorts and you know it is too tight to wear and makes you uncomfortable. You answer her, that if she understand the pain or how uncomfortable or if she could change her mind, she should BUT since she is your mother, you want to respect and obey her, your reply is "mum, since this is what you want me to wear, your will for me to wear it, then I would wear it" as simple as ABC.
