False Confidence. He had an opportunity, ruled for over 8yrs and wrecked the country. What does he think he brings to the table this time. Please must not forget the total fear Nigerians felt during IBB and Abacha's reign of terror. This period must not be discounted in our history. There were a lot of mis-deeds that have never been explained. I for one remember that period so well, I remember a friend being beaten up a night before his wedding and lost 2 front teeth, by the military, it was pure hell. Nigerians really need to refresh thier memories. If it were other countries documentaries would be run reminding people what life was like under that tyrant. |
We dont know, this is all speculation, but I would rather Nuhu went back to the job he did so well, despite peoples varied opinion on him. I would rather have a Pat Utomi with Nasir El-Rufai as VP or vice versa. I see this to be a wiining combination that has the potential to appeal to many people, Just my thought |
why do we have this love affair for deadwood. IBB, Buhari, Atiku, now Abubakar? |
What a country we have. The attitude of our people only proves that 2011 will be worse than 2007. I have started learning how to mange my expectation. What ever we get we all take. It has long been agreed that Nigerians really do have the leaders they deserve, IBB no different. |
Hey guys, still looking for this song. Not quite sure if the name I got was right.please help |
@chidichris, I tend to agree with Skyblue. Whether we like it or not the fight against corruption must start from somewhere, it is a shame that you feel that it is not starting from where you had hoped it would. The simple question is did Ibori defraud the state? Did he get his brother to cover up for him, by imposing him on Deltans? Is Uduaghan guilty of Perverting the cause of justice? My friend there are serious issues that need to be dealt with, and I am sick and tired of Nigerians not facing up to the truth. It is this same thing that has damaged our country. Yes he is a thief, but he is not the only one, so please let him go free. Go and catch the bigger thief first before you catch the small one. Maybe you really under estimate the level of Ibori's corruption in Delta The man is a thief, a big one for the matter, some would even suggest the biggest in the country, and yet you are not convinced that the fight must start at his door step? |
Igboboy, well said. @bk/babe97, From what you read, did Ikemba really endorse IBB? is that what your understanding arrives at? If so, no problem. But as I read am, Ojukwu did not endorse IBB. |
@ Rasputinn, For we Deltans, I think what upsets me most, if how he raped and plundered that state, only to deny us the opportunity for good governance by installing his brother. The case against Ibori failed because his younger brother remains the fraudulent governeor of that state. So let it be understood that Ribadu will have to investigate Uduaghan as well as Ibori. For those who remember the 2007 election in the state. We did not have primaries. There was internal fighting within pdp in the state. Ibori was hell bent on getting Uduaghan selected, that there was actually no selection at all. All other candidates were either threatened or bought out. And now we all know the reason why Uduaghan was brought in to cover up. We all as Nigerians have big job ahead of us. And we must all encourage the likes of Nuhu who are fighting against all odds. |
@bk/babe97, The link below is no clear evidence that Ojukwu backs IBB. Please always provide clear and verified sources to any claim. |
@ Ibime, the question you should be asking is if Soyinka was part of the mega party deal? |
should we really give any credibility to this man by spending so much time discussing a non-issue? |
Uduaghan is a bloody thief like his big brother Ibori. This time we will kick them both out. He cannot win, and must not be supported. Ibori destroyed Delta state and got his brother in to cover up the mess he made. Deltans must open thier eyes, or in Warri language "Shine your eye". Uduaghan, represents nothing but continued backwardness and unimaginable corruption. |
Well, let us wait and see. But I think this might be what all prgressive people are looking for. |
typical political prostitute of very low standing. Absolute thief, who is looking for a way back |
Well I will support fully a Woman president. We should not have a problem with this, the main issue is finding a credible candidate, man or woman. And tobe fair to the women in our country, the men have contributed most to the terrible state of the country. |
All these lies. Why do they let this man be. |
No, mine is a big thief, like his big brother. |
Come people, is there really a case to discuss IBB's presidential aspirations? should we really be spending time doing that? is there any benefit? Like I said, time after time, we are our own worst enemy. We come on here and justify a criminal, someone who contributed to the present state of the country, who Nigerians are currently suffering because of his actions. But you know what, true to ourselves, we have to justify him as being one of the many thieves in Nigeria. My friend has a very good saying for us. "Nigerians get the leaders they deserve", If it was any other country, IBB, IBORI, and the gang would be in jail. |
Very lazy police, instead of collecting bribe, they should be catching thief |
Let him go and sit down in dorty, he is a bloody thief and really is in no position to lecture anyone. Let him start by returning the money he stoles, apologise to Nigerians, maybe go to jail for a few years, well that would disqualify him from any political ambition, before lecturing anyone. There is really nothing to like about him. When I hear people come online stae rt making excuses for the him, it just tells me that as a people we really do not grasp the full extent of our problems, maybe if we did, we would all unite and move Nigeria forward. But I am afraid I am resigned to the fact that this may never happen. |
So we must all wait for the West to tell us what we already know. No need to sensationalize this issue. Our problem still remains that we are not prepared to face up to the truth. |
I tire oh. She may have banned you, but she does not deserve the insult you have pour on her on here. There is no excusing your language, and in my opinion an apology is what is called for. I think we must all start behaving maturely , coming on here are using such back-street alley language as Shoot2Kill has is really not acceptable, no matter what your quanta is. |
@ Mikeansy, I beg help me tell am. Buhari lost his chance. In as much as I respect him for hism discipline, In think he lost at that credibility by choosing sides when the nation really need a bold and fair voice. A voice for reason, change and hope, and I am afraid Buhari is not that voice. |
@Truly, So he made a few comments about the Yar Adua situation, when you are in opposition and seeking the highest office in the land you, you need to be extremely vocal and really active to seek change. In my opinion the article in the Punch does not convince me. Buhari I knew and admired should have been at the fore-front of a movement for change. We dont need people to have lukewarm attitudes towards change. My problem with the Jos crisis was not about taking sides, but coming out and condemming in the strongest terms mans inhumanity to man. Keeping quite for sake of being accused of taking sides is no way for an aspiring leader to act. |
Na so so Thief full that country |
Where are the candidates? bigger question. |
@Truly, Years ago I would have come on here fully and supported your effort, and unlike you, I would have openly declared for Buhari, because just like you said, he probably has the good will and discipline to move Nigerian slightly forward, and I was once of the opinion that the likes of Ibori would have been jailed and dealt with, But issues of the last few months have given me a rethink. Buhari was so so silent when his brother Yar Adua went missing for 3 months. We had no President for over 90 days and the best the opposition like Buhari could do was keep quiet. My understanding was that if Nigeria was trully a progressive country and if the Likes of Buhari were truly for the Masses and represent a real oposition, he would have climbing the Highest mountain to complain about the status quo. Then came the Jos Crisis, what happened again, he kept quiet. Please if you have the opportunity go and read what the likes of El-Rufai had to say, and quite frankly if you were talking about someone like that, maybe you have a good case, but as others have suggested, let honorable saint Buhari go and rest. Maybe he would be useful as an elder stateman, whatever that is |
@eina, My people say "Man wey Catch big fish no dey take back yard enter house". If he did speak, his voice was not heard. Did Wole Soyinka not speak? Did Pat Utomi not speak? Even El Rufai spoke. In my opinion, I followed him closely and he was silent. |
Same old rubbish. This is the same Buhari I have always had respect for. He failed to speak up when the nation needed him. He did not comment on the ongoing Yar Adua crisis. Same old Buhari failed to comment on the Jos crisis. In my opinion same old junk car with a slight coat of new paint. Makes absolutely no difference. he has shown us where his loyalty lies. |
person wey get degree no dey thief? |
@Godalone, How can 2011 election be better than 2007 when nothng has change in terms of the electorial process, and even you suggest that PDP will win. Is PDP really the future of the country? A Party full of theiving desports, recycled criminals? how can that be any good for us? I really do fail to see a bright future if things dont change drastically. I think there is a great under estimation of where we are as a country, and even greater under-estimation on what is required to identify the problems, let alone setting us on the right path. Make no mistake, we are almost Generations behind any forward thinking 3rd world country. Maybe that would give you some pespective. |
Come oh, should we really be debating Atiku's chance at Presidency, rather than really exposing him for what he really is. Did he not chop enuff in PDP, I think he must be extremely foolish to think that he stands a chance with PDP, but lets not forget it's Nigeria. Even monkey can rule as long as e carry sack of money come. My People parties in Nigeria stand for nothing, no ideology behind them, or Should I say it is All About ME, MYSELF, AND I. This all makes me believe that thinks are not going to be any different come next election, we might even find ourselves in even worse situation than we are now. Mr Acting President really needs to do more, he needs to motor on, because that tasks are plenty and the workers few. I just have this sinking feeling that we are not going to be any better off, but I really do pray that I am wrong. I said the same think before and after 2007, but this time for the sake of Nigeria I hope I am far off the mark |
