No surprises, there is nothing great about Lagos, so let us stop decieving ourselves. I saw Harare on telly today, and even after all Mogabe has done to the country, there was senblance of order in the City. The fact is that the sooner we realise how bad our country is and start fixing it the, the better for everyone. We do not even have a single centre of excellene in that country. How can Nigeria be earning so much money from oil, yet we cant even have 1, I say 1 good hospital, that our President had to leave to another country for well over 80 days for treatment. Can anyone really name one thing that works in Nigeria, please just 1 thing, even in Lagos, what works? People come tar small road and everyone thinks they have done wonders. |
we should not forget when people are hungry without money, they can eat anything even false doctrine. I think we should all channel our energy at getting a country that works rather than start picking reasons to fight each other. |
@PCmecom, My brother please leave this unproductive nonsense, and let us discuss how we can save Nigeria. I really struggle to see the point of this post, reaaly I do |
Even though there might be a case for a split, I dont think we should get too hung up on that, let us not forget what the biggest culprit in our troubles is hunger and deprivation. Take that away, and you get a more peaceful country. Let us not forget that the avarage poor notherner is suffering just as well, and hardly benefits from northern leaders being in power. There are countries that have existed peacefully with different tribes, the unifying factor is that poverty as we know it hardly exist. |
Really if we are serious we need to prune these inconsequential positions. We have to many ministarial offices, just avenues to chop money with very little monitoring. We need to get aour priorities right. Nigerians must not make this sort of mistake come next election we must all choose right and vote someone sensible, not all these junk material we have floating through corridors of power, not one decent stock. |
if true, let us wait and see |
stop silly senseless rumours that serves no one good. This is how people engage in stupid unproductive banter that serves our country no good. Every sensible Nigerian will be seriously engaging in nation building no matter what part you play, rather than staring up this nonsense. What purpose does it serve but show absolute ignorance. |
@ Edoyad, well said. I thinks we a rushing in too quickly and judging, let us give the guy some time to settle. The important thing is that we got some sort of victory, which shows that with constant pressure and good direction we can achieve what we want. This is just step 1, the even bigger challenge, but in my opinion doable is ousting PDP out for power. PDP remains the biggest threat to progress in Nigeria. I have always said that. This is a praty made up of same old politicians that plundered Nigeria in the first dispensation, this is just NPN is a different cloth. Check all the somewhat progressive states, none is being run by PDP. I have often argued that we must all come together to chase them out of office, this is what happens in any progressive democracy, if the party aint performing, kick them out. Nigerian n ow have true justification for doing that, I would like to find a single Nigerian who is prepared to support them, except you are eating from the same bowl with them. The AC's, and ANPP's really need to seize on this opportunity and present a credible and popular candidate. And Nigerians really need to get behind them, if not I am afraid come 2011 it will be PDP as usual. Just like you guys have stated, they are all cut from the same cloth. |
he should have been demoted to dogs bollocks |
Is this really necessary, we clamour too much for big things without dealing with small things. We havent resolved the no-light issue, yet we want Mega ICT Mall, what for? |
come oh, is this letter real? |
Well, let us wait and see. Stupid Ojo Maduekwe was locked out coming late. See below. http://www.thenigeriabusiness.com/eco313.html Jonathan locks out ministers for lateness By Madu Onuorah 9th February 2010 Two Ministers, Chief Ojo Maduekwe (Foreign Affairs) and Mr Lanre Babalola (Power), were yesterday locked out for coming late for a scheduled meeting with Vice President Goodluck Jonathan. Maduekwe came in 15 minutes behind schedule while Babalola came in 20 minutes for a meeting slated for 1.00 p.m. They were however allowed in after some explanations and confirmations that they were actually informed of the meeting at the last minute. Jonathan had recently abandoned a scheduled meeting with a group of ministers because of lateness. The meeting had to be rescheduled as those expected at the meeting came some minutes after the meeting was supposed to have commenced. Maduekwe had on getting to the door to the Vice President's conference room hoped to enter unhindered, but was surprised to be told by the Vice President's security aides that he could not go inside. Embarrassed by the situation, explained that he only got a call for the meeting five minutes to the scheduled time, soliciting the understanding of the Chief Security Officer to the Vice President to be able to enter. Babalola, who got to the meeting venue five minutes after Maduekwe was let in, said he was not aware of the meeting before the call came, just 10 minutes before the commencement of the meeting. |
The guy is a real troubled soul. We have to be careful with him, he sounds as bitter as the gutter |
@ Mandingo II. Good, like I said there are good and bad from both sides. They might be refering to the material side of things, but there is more to life that Nice roads, nice buildings, and possessions. Like I keep saying we may not be financially wealthy, but we are extremely rich in spirit. I would have you know, there are many Americans, that visit Africa, and never want to leave, So do the British and others. I think you are all getting it wrong, when you sit and expect Africa to be the West, we are not and have never claimed to be. We are a very humble continent, rich in Spirit and joy. But I think you still need to visit |
@ Mandingo II, Well like I said you can only get thr true picture if you visit, and stop believing all the crap they feed you guy from the media. Like I said we might be poor financially, but we are very rich in spirit. Your comments are typical and very expected from someone with very little real knowledge, go on take a trip, go and see for yourself. |
Well, I think you need to visit to qualify to make such remarks. I have been and lived in both, and America is not necessarily the nicest place to live in. Africa and especially Nigeria might be poor, but it is home. I once had a Black American lady visit Nigeria, this is before she made a lot of very uncomplimentary remarks about Nigeria. I am using her words here. She says immediately she stepped down from the plane and saw a sea on black people, doing things for themselves, running thier onw little businesses, she knelt down and wept, she proclaimed, she Never knew Black poeple had thier own Kingdom. We might do things the way you may not like, but it is our way, some might be bad, but most are good. so I would rather you take a step back, and get first hand information (like visit Africa, does not have to be Nigeria), not childish comments from others, before you say the things you do. |
@ Mandingo II, really have you visited Africa? |
Have you ever been to Africa? |
Why so much hate? I have no connection with America, and I dont see the reason why. To come on a Forum and spew such hate and anger shows a real trouble mind that needs help. What has any Africa ever done to you? please share. You smell and reek of hate for Africans, why? |
A real troubled soul. We must all pity this guy. |
@ Dr Tony and Only truth. Well said, let people not miss the main point, which is there is always the possibility of beating PDP. Soludo made a big mistake by joining a party that has single handedly destroyed our country. People keep failing to understand that the problem we have in Nigeria is Peoples Destruction Party of Nigeria. I am yet to see a single state were thier governors are doing well. This is a real vistory for all Nigerians, a real victory for common sense, maybe this is the begining of change. God bless Nigeria, and all her children that support change. |
Congrats to Mr Peter Obi. This shows that we can actually challenge and defeat evil if the will is there. |
@rafcrown, and yet thye found Ibori not guilty. Someone whos father was an ambulance driver, and he was a checkout boy @ B&Q in the UK. Yet he is probably the richest man in Nigeria as we speak, after serving 2 terms, and yet the court found nothing wrong with him. |
Well, that is were we have let ourslevs down time after time. We are very good and swallowing crap and enjoying it. Time to start taking those in government to task. If he doesnt do his job well get rid of him. what is the point of such a monumental failure only to make stupid excuses. The country has been in the dark for far too long |
Sack the minister. He is useless at his job |
Victory for common sense |
if true, these are just hungry dead-enders, and they should be ignored |
OK, so she resigns, then what? you lose the few voices of reason in that cesspit (FEC), I really can not understand why she should resign |
@ Archbishop, really? and what would that hidden agenda be? why do we always treat anything good in Nigeria with such suspicion |
Well said Mikeansy, The woman is more effective fighting from the inside, and or those cynics, what can anynoe do to please you people. The woman has taken a very bold step, and I think we should commend her and support her. Even the so called Vp is not prepared to face up to the truth, he needs a powerful woman to tie his wrapper for him. Please let us learn how to encourage people who do good |
Finally someone with big balls. Let us face it women are the once who have made bold contributions to Nigeria. There is nothing wrong in what she has done, she has merely stated the truth, which a lot of people are not willing to face up to. For those who critisize her, please what could she have done better? resigning at this stage is still very premature, she is of far better use to her country in cabinet rather than out, what we need is for those progressive leaders to back her, and game over for those who dont want progress in our country. God Bless Nigeria. Well done Dora, you have spoken the truth which is so refreshing Also the story is on BBC. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/africa/8498580.stm |
If true, she has nothing to be afraid of. Light will normally destroy darkness. The country has been in darkness for far too long. |
