You are a cretin!

It is way beyond the reach of community college cretins like you.
That same Wharton? Hahaha! grin grin grin grin grin Did you apply and get rejected? WTF? Wharton rejected the brilliant, above-average IQ Sagamu when they admit half-baked Lagos bankers every year? shocked shocked shocked shocked LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

If an ordinary UBA branch manager can get into Wharton, then it's a damn shame that you couldn't. Like I said earlier, nothing impressive about Wharton. Now, go play with your mates!

i don't know what i am looking for in Philly sef, after my school i will relocate, this place is so boring. cool cool cool cool
What are you studying @ UPenn? Husbandry? I knew it! Lemme go ask a couple of my buddies if they know anybody called Ronke and if she really is as hot as she says she is. I visited Philly once a few years ago; never again. Hate that place!  grin

ps - i'll also get on the queue if you send me a sexy pic!  grin

Sagamite:
You are a cretin!

Are we suppose to be impressed you know people that attend UPenn/Wharton, when you are a hoodrat that can never get to such places?
Nothing impressive about UPenn/Wharton shagamum. If you're impressed, then I feel sorry for you.

Why do you ALWAYS come off as a brag? You really have nothing to prove to anyone on NL. Seriously we're all faceless here. You come off as someone who wants to let everyone know that he's got something to offer, educated, good looking etc. People who have so much to offer rarely talk about it. In my language they say " Ahia oma n'ere onwe ya" Literally it means " A good market sells itself". Chill dude.

Before you go on the offensive and attack me; re read what I've just said and think about it as I come in peace. Not being disrespectful at all.
My dearest mgbeke princess, sorry if I hurt your feelings. grin grin grin I feel free to say things the way they are without any sugar-coating or false humility because it's a faceless forum and nobody knows who I am on here (except for a few real-life friends that are also on here). I wouldn't call it bragging; there is nothing to gain from bragging on an internet forum. I only said what I said to prove a point; I speak razz, ijinle Yoruba! You can't test me when it comes to my mother tongue!

It's ironic that Nigerians are one of the most materialistic and status-obsessed peoples on the face of the earth but yet, they like to hold faceless strangers to bizarre standards of humility on a faceless internet forum. Are you THAT worried about proud Nigerians? Then make a placard and go protest in front of AIS or Loyola Jesuit. Better still, go self-immolate at the next owambe wedding you see. Stop playing humility police on NL and if you must, go to the auto section to harass those displaying their luxury vehicles. I haven't said anything that's particularly boastful (except in jest or mockery grin) on here besides stating basic ordinary fact. Did I post my name or picture? So what then is your problem? Stop getting all indignant for nothing jor! And please send me your nude pics if you're young, pretty and ready to mingle. grin

grin grin grin cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy Thank you, i will take that as a big compliment coming from you, Sagalulu!!!!
There should be a certified pre-owned program for wives! This will remove the information asymmetry and reduce marriage transaction costs. A wife that has already been tried and tested as a sane, drama-free, and good wife would be very valuable these days to people like Sagamugu, even if the woman is in her late thirties.  grin grin grin grin grin

So Ronke, if Mr Ronke fcks up, Shagamumu is waiting for you with wide-open arms where you will spend the rest of your life washing bathrooms and eating ponmo!  grin

ps - what kind of woman lives in Philly, anyway? That place is just ghetto and the only people I know that end up there are those attending UPenn/Wharton.

what has english gotta do with poking. . . . .the only time naija women have peace with domestic maids is when the maid is more than 60 yrs old.

naija women are too insecure to cope with having a cleaning lady come in every week.
That doesn't make sense! Nigerian women have always had domestic maids. Why would they be insecure about a cleaning lady that speaks little English?

I pray that the federal government will deprive any citizen who can't speak their mother tongue all the pecks of being a Nigeria which include Jobs. I'm tired of parents not teaching their children their native tongue.
I speak both Yoruba & English fluently (and I got As in both Yoruba and English in my WAEC exams). Same thing for the rest of my family (in fact, my Mum LOVED making us read the Yoruba bible out loud during family devotions). My grandmother of blessed memory was adamant that we learn Yoruba as little kids and I am forever grateful to her for this. I am as posh as a Nigerian can possibly get without turning into an Old Ikoyi cretin so it REALLY annoys me when semi-illiterates think depriving their children of their mother tongue will somehow make them special and successful. It doesn't! But your kids will hate you when they grow up and can't connect to their roots because of language barriers.

my dear if it was just 40hrs work e for better, imagine working and doing overtime, caring for the children and family at large, some will see it as big deal!!!! but they really do not have an idea, no one can do it all, we all need help at one point in time, all these wahala tells on the body.
My dear Ronkis, you can't eat your cake and have it too. You can't expect a man to kill himself outside the home to provide for the family and then return home to help with the housework and babies. If both spouses are working, then they should seriously consider hiring help. I am a single guy and I have a cleaning lady come in every week. Married couples should also do the same (they aren't that expensive in the US). I have married Nigerian friends that employ full-time nannies for about $1k-$2k per month. It saves them a LOT of hassle and their marriages are better for it.

Oh!!!!! BUT IT IS GOOD FOR THE MEN, TO MALTREAT THE WOMEN BECAUSE THEY WERE BROUGHT FROM THEIR VILLAGEShuh? THIS IS NOT ABOUT EDUCATING ONE, WHICH MONEY DID THEY USE IN PAYING FOR THE SCHOOL IN THE FIRST PL;ACE?? NO BE STUDENT LOANhuh? THEY CAN'T EAT THEIR CAKES AND STILL WANT TO HAVE IT, I SAID IT BEFORE AND WILL KEEP SAYING IT, EYE DON OPEN, WE NEED TO BE MUCH MORE RESPONSIBLE IN ALL OUR DEALINGS ESPECIALLY MARITALLY, WHO IS A SLAVE OR A MONEY MAKING MACHINE, SO THAT SOME GUYS CAN ENJOY THEIR LIVES, EVERYBODY BOTH MAN AND WOMAN NEED AN UPGRADE. IF YOU RESPECT YOURSELF YOU WILL DEFINITELY BE RESPECTED.
Ronke, the men are st'pid and selfish to think that they "own" their wives. However, there is something to be said for loyalty and gratitude. Women that come from their villages to the US and then think they are too good and special to stay with their husbands are not exactly saints, especially not if they leave their husbands for richer men.

This was an aristo runs gone horribly wrong! The poor st'pid girl should have left this game for professionals instead she let herself get used, impregnated and dumped by a stingy, useless, ugly old man. I hope she sues him for all his worth. What exactly is wrong with our country?! What is the meaning of all of this insanity?! When did wife beating and wife murdering become a "family affair"?! What kind of demons are possessing men to think this is even remotely sane behavior? It tire me oh! You can't tell the woman to go to the police when the policeman himself just finished beating his wife! Ditto for the court system! Where is help going to come from for the average woman without a wealthy family to rescue her from a demonic husband?! Stories like this are so depressing because the situation just seems so hopeless! The day one of my sisters get married, is the day I will buy myself a pistol and make good friends with a criminal lawyer. I want to see teh murrafucker that wanna beat up my sister! His father will not recognize him by the time I am done with him!

From reading these posts, I realize that I am just not ready to be married. Every time I think about marriage, I remember the last girl I thought was going to be the mother of my babies and I just shudder! I can't risk going through that experience again (women are dangerous and shady creatures and only deserve to be conquered and unceremoniously dumped! ) Now is the time for me to focus on my career and the family business. There is no way on earth I am going to sacrifice my youth and time for a 50%/50% gamble on a woman that might turn out to be a demon once she gets the carats. From henceforth, I am just going to ignore family pressure. I'll go to the village and marry a sweet young 18yr old when I hit 40.  cool cool cool If I meet a wonderful woman before I turn 40, then anything can sele.  grin grin grin grin

PS - Oga Saga, you no dey tire?! Are McKinsey/Bain now padlocking their dumpsters and starving you of work? Or is hanging out on NL what you like to do in between your all-day fapping fest with Jamo prn? Chei! See your bloody slave-catcher Ijebu life!  angry

PS 2 - Madam CC, abeg, me nko? Is your sister still available? I love fiesty, young things that can rock it hard in the bedroom! I am not afraid of a RR Evoque (we might have to do some negotiating on the Banana plot, oh!) Will a plot in Ajah village suffice? On the mainland nko? ***begins to rearrange agbada*** grin grin grin grin grin grin
InvestmentRe: Why Union Bank Shares Are Not Worth Buying by moremi2008(m): 6:27pm On Feb 07, 2012
P/E ratios are generally useless for evaluating banks. Where are the ROE and Price/Book numbers and how do those compare with the others?

It's pretty difficult to file audited 2011 results this early. They should have postponed the rights issue until they could provide those results (unaudited results mean jack shit, especially in Nigeria!).

The biggest red flag (and most disturbing) here is the short-term operations of the bank. All on-demand deposits are by definition short-term so i am guessing the article is referring to short-term fixed deposits. Short-term fixed deposits by who? By a few related parties? Who is parking money at Union Bank to make it look good to mugu- investors? Union Bank can't find on-demand customers even with the explicit guarantee of deposit insurance?! Are things that bad? Then it's little surprise that there isn't any maturity transformation and the bulk of their liabilities are also short-term. What kind of loans gan sef are they making on a month-month basis besides letters of credit and overdraft facilities? The whole thing just sounds like an elaborate scam: just like round-tripping but without the juicy, cost-free profits.

I don't know too much about banking but the little I know makes me worried that most of these salvaged banks are zombie banks. Better run for your dear life before they use your funds to issue special dividends to their private equity owners! grin grin grin

I am not even rich; at least not compared to some of my friends. Just an above average Nigerian American. You don't even know what rich means if you think anything I have said here is bragging! this is coming from a guy who is talking about having an extravagant wedding that will be the talk of the town and featured in society pages. una get similar tastes. why are you in denial? better propose fast before the "ikoyi boy" snatches her away from you.
Whatever wedding ceremony I end up having will be for my family (I have very few friends and they will all be part of the bridal party). All the extra-stuff is gonna be my mum's doing (dat woman too like parry and tying-gele grin). I have pretty expensive tastes but I am a self-controlled spender. Thankfully, I hate cars in general because I hate driving so I don't have to worry about buying a $100k car that'll be worthless in a few years. My biggest ticket items (and biggest weakness) is real estate but those have lasting value. I am not going to marry a woman that'll destroy what my family has worked super-hard to build because she likes to carry $20k handbags and fancies herself a successor to Daisy Danjuma when her father can barely hold on to the family house in Ikoyi and her mother owes my mum huge sums of money she has been promising to pay back since 2007! That bloody onigbese, owambe family! Aarrghhh! My blood is already boiling as I type this!!!!!!!!!!!!

Which is why in the parable of the wheat and tares, we are to wait for the last day when the wheat will be separated from the tares.

It is not in your place to decide which man of God is stealing money or not. Only God has the ultimate knowledge of these things and HE said in the last days that the judgement of God will start in the church.

If I were you, I will concern myself with my own life and leave MOG for God to judge.

NO ONE HERE WILL MAKE HEAVEN CONDEMNING MEN OF GOD! Rather the bible is even replete with examples of people who cursed men of God (some of who were even in error) and they paid for it dearly.
Who said anything about judging MOGs? That many MOGs are interested in empire building is an observation based on fact. The question here is whether we should be paying tithes, as a matter of spiritual principle, to help fund those empires. Stop being defensive and answer the question.

Nigeria's biggest positive contribution is human capital. Its educated elite are all over the world, helping build other economies and its uneducated masses are washing toilets, prostituting, driving taxis, and flipping burgers in first world countries.

Its negative contribution are numerous: 419, drug smuggling, terrorists, ritual killings, terribly educated citizens on average, sharia law, jaw-dropping corruption, a police force that's fully constituted of armed robbers and thugs, the list is endless.
