Odidigboigbo:I know very very well more than you may imagine. The courts had since granted him bail. Wike had to charge him again to ensure he does not regain freedom.https://punchng.com/just-in-court-grants-bail-to-embattled-rivers-pdp-gov-aspirant-dagogo/?amp |
Odidigboigbo:Do you know this man has already been granted bail? They had to charge him before another court in order to keep him in detention ILLEGALLY. |
Odidigboigbo:The High court is not holding the man. If you no know just ask. |
Fuckyoumod:When was he arrested. What does the law say about arrest and detention for more than 24hrs. Wike is a senior lawyer and his wife a sitting judge. He should know better, and indeed knows what is right. He is showing all the elements of a dictator. Power is transient and in the next one year it might leave him, so he better act wisely |
So this is what we stand to see if Wike becomes president. Unlawful Detention of political opponents and perceived threats. God forbid |
Presco being punished for poor dividend. Fullest bid at 180. They gave only N6.60 despite an Eps of N19.32. For a N200 stock. The dividend is just about 3% dividend yield almost same with transcorp at 2%. Some of our indigenous companies are just too greedy and stingy with dividends. |
OBAGADAFFI:Yes, but not unbundled. Transcorp still has majority stake. |
OBAGADAFFI:The transcorp hotel is not unbundled yet, if not we would have had our shares of it. |
Just taking a look at transcorp result from last year. Comparing the company's subsidiaries clearly shows they Power sector is all in all. Nothing came from the Oil and gas segment(meaning that asset has fully gone to heirs holding). I think they need to unbundle or set the power segment on its own cos even with the current OS, the power segment can do wonders.

Surprisingly, no one talked about the commencement of banking business by MTN and Airtel giving that this move would have far reaching consequences on the banking industry as well as an impact on the telecoms companies. Publications on the exchange was made by both companies today. https://doclib.ngxgroup.com/Financial_NewsDocs/36047_MTN_NIGERIA_COMMUNICATIONS_PLC%20MOMO_PAYMENT_SERVICE_BA.pdf https://doclib.ngxgroup.com/Financial_NewsDocs/36043_AIRTEL_AFRICA_PLC%20NIGERIA_PSB_COMMENCEMENT_OF_OPERATIO.pdf Meanwhile after selling its PFC to FBNH, Access bank just took majority stake in a PFA. This must be strategic and profit oriented. https://doclib.ngxgroup.com/Financial_NewsDocs/36048_ACCESS_HOLDINGS_PLC%20ACCESS_HOLDINGS_PLC_TO_ACQUIRE_MAJ.pdf |
emmanuelewumi:If you know nigerian politics very well, then you know that the said national interest might not necessarily be the interest of the nation. |
yok:It all depends on the reason for the spike in the price of the stock. A stock may be a perennial underachiever in terms of profitability and share appreciation but may also suddenly spike in price due to emerging developments like new investments, new discoveries, mergers/acquisition etc. In the case of NNFM, we do not know but only suspect that something is about to happen. GSK and FBNH also fall in this category. |
OBAGADAFFI:Then no want tell us oh. We don ask we don tire. We don give up on knowing. I sold mine on 15% profit and moved. |
yMcy56:I have been trying to figure out the possible impact of the Airtel share buyback and honeywell acquisition on this company but no clear ideal. The Airtel deal could have a positive impact on PAT but that of honeywell appears to be like a loan repayment with not too much impact. Its just not clear to me whats pushing the share price of a company that has missed by almost two months, filing of results. |
So today, transcorp fell from 1.40 to 1.32. Then now returned to 1.41. Meanwhile 130million units done already. I strongly believe there is something going on somewhere that we do not know about. |
samguru:Tell us oh. I did buy this but had to sell cos I knew nothing about it and morgan did not respond on that thing we discussed. Hope you finally got cos it has been available since then and even today. |
IHelp:Transcorp is doing wonderfully well. Thanks to my village people that made me put more funds there. I am on over 40% profit on this. .98 to1.40 |
GreatEko:No body said seplat is a bad company. We only advised that seplat be cautious in loans and acquisitions. Too much aggressive investments in bullish period is not too good. Remember First bank almost collapsed because one CEO(Bisi Olasanya) decided in time of high oil prices, to give out too many loans to oil companies without due diligence. Mind you, The said CEO was an experienced hand in the field of banking. He wanted to make huge profit for the bank thus his decision to give out more loans to the oil industry. FBNH has not fully recovered from the repercussions even as we noted that only a few banks would have survived that experience. |
Nigerialabalaba:Just wait. I have nothing against seplat but I think they should be cautious on the loans for acquisitions, on the back of rising debt profile. |
wanaj0:lol. Something killed oando naa. Recall oando was once over 100. Bad management and decisions killed it. |
Airtel 1,533, Okomu oil 236 Hmm. Things dey happen oh. |
sellydion:It can happen to any body bro. Best not to rush. Seplat already has huge debt burden, they better be cautious and not let greed swallow them |
sellydion:But they need to be careful so they don't chew more than they can swallow lest they end up choking in debts like oando. |
emmanuelewumi:What is the point in using my bond as collateral for bank loan, when I can just liquidate the bond. Bank rates are often 2× or much more than interest on the bond. |
Wapco is an excellent stock, but I just looked at some recently released results and it seem to me like vitafoam and total energies equally have some incredible numbers, similar to, if not better than wapco. What is ur opinion? Disclosure: I have some units of Wapco and total, but sold my vitafoam earlier this year. |
courage89:Okomu is palm oil, Flour mills is vegetable and soya oil. Palm oil is not as universally available as vegetable oil. The scarcity of palm oil is what makes presco and okomu more expensive. Mind you UACN also does vegetable oil. We all know their Grand Oil here in nigeria |
Transcorp moving well |
OBAGADAFFI:BUA foods is worse, the other shares up to over 99.9% are owned by bua limited, bua industries, Rabui jr and some other persons with Rabui in their name. My question is why do they come to the stock exchange if almost the entire shares are owned by the samr family.
|
RabbiDoracle:Jesu... transcorp at 15, that is 1200% increase. May it come through. |
emmanuelewumi:lol. We are saying the same thing. Take for instance Transcorp that did 528% increase in 2021 PAT =No full bid, even following same with 147% increase in q1 2022 PAT yet we are still looking for the full bid. |
emmanuelewumi:8.2cents. About half of the current year. |
gbengafaro1986:My brother the thing looks suspicious. I wanted to sell at 1.2 but had to hold on when I saw the mild rush. |
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 ... 62 63 64 65 66 67 68 69 70 (of 176 pages)

DD. Pulled back to 1.31/1.32, moved up to 1.52.......settled @1.40...
