Heishere: Only Titan Trust can answer this question. But be cautious sha so that what happened to us with Ardova won't happen to you. I also fear the same, but something tells me that the owners of Titan trust been insiders in the Banking industry(and CBN) are capable of growing Union. Although they can also destroy what is left of the bank. |

emmanuelewumi: Nothing exceptional about the dividend yield of United Capital earnings grew by about 40% between last and now.
Average earnings in the last 5 years is N1.10k, current earning is N1.88k.
For a typical growth stock current earning should be about 20% higher than the average 5 years earning but United Capital current earning is 70% higher than the average 5 years earning Eg Fidelity. Lol |

emmanuelewumi: More like a paper loss, the properties still generated income. REITs are expected to revalue their Investment income once in 3 to 5 years
They should pay an interim dividend by August, I expect the price to go down below N3.00 in the interim.
Do you have an idea of the dividend paid in January this year? That should bring the total dividend paid for 2021 financial year to about 18k Dividend for full year 2021 came to 56k. They paid twice 38k and 18k.

They stopped replying me via email after they asked me to send my bank statement which I did. I have proof of all this. Some times it could be from ur bank. First identify the source of the problem. BabsO2: Not impossible
Looking at the price trend of Transcorp. The Price went up the whole of February. With a peak of N1.34 during the day of Thursday the 24th. As if the word was oozing out that a good result has been baked. Could crystal ball gazers using TA with or without connection to stock-trade execution systems spot this apart from those acting on any spills from internal accountants and external auditors.
But by Monday the 28th of February the price started going down. The board meeting that was to hold the next day 1st of March was cancelled. The public were notified I guess at the close of business on Tuesday that the board meeting was cancelled. But somehow the price even started dropping a day ahead of this notification to the public.
The price continued it's downward journey till Friday the 25th of March with a closing price of N1.07. The public got the results and dividend announcement after the close of business of this Friday the 25th of March.
For Transcorp, seems some people acted on the good results that was not yet released to the public that they got wind of using TA or whatever. And also acted to exit on the poor dividend payout proposed by management somehow ahead of notification to the public.
For Total perhaps some have got wind of not too good results or are just speculating using TA etc. Total have since released unaudited result which was quite fantastic. 711% increase in profit after tax. With eps moving from 6naira to 49naira. Its hard to tell why they are leaving. Something tells me its the foreign investors leaving after the terrorist attack on rail stations, airports etc and nature of things in the country. |

Lets watch and see what happens by this weekend or next week. |

customstreet: Just to add to what u said. Any infringement in the capital market to be address must follow the following orders:
1. You may get a lawyer or the investor himself to write to the securities house who committed the infringement
2. If it cannot be resolved, then write NGX to table your complains. The letter should be addressed to Surveillance and Monitoring Dept of BDR. The letter may be written by the investor or his lawyer.
3. NGX will forward your complain to the Securities house and ask them to restitute you within a stipulated date
4. If the house cannot restitute you within a stipulated date given to them, another letter would be written to them for the second chance for the investor to be restituted by the Securities house.
5. After the second attempt, and the house cannot restitute the investor, the house trading will be suspended
6. Depending on the value of the infringement, if the value is more than 5million, EFCC would be drafted in to take over the case
7. The house would be invited for all parties meeting with the investors by the NGX
8. If the house license has been withdrawn and the house is declared death, the investor will be compensated to the tune of N400,000 by NGX from the IPF (investor Protection Fund).
9. If the investor decides to collect the money, an agreement and application form will be filled and sign by the investor exonerating NGX from any legal tussle going forward.
10. However, if the investor decides not to collect the money, the case will be referred to SEC using APC to take over the case. Meanwhile EFCC will still be on the onslaught against the securities house or the person that committed the crime
11. If the house is inactive but not dead, on the part of the NGX, the case would be referred to the DRP to look at a way forward
12. If DPR cannot find solution, and it is obvious that securities house committed the offense, the trading license could be withdrawn by panel constituted by the NGX
13. If the case cannot be resolved by APC of SEC, which takes the form of High court, then the case is referred to DPR is SEC
14. DPR is similar to appeal court, if the case cannot be resolved, it then means that it will be transfer to IST which is the final arbiter in r try he capital market case
15. EFCC will handle the criminal case of the matter while IST will resolve the civic aspect of the matter
Add your own to this please Lol, this long process? The way I usually handle such issues is to first call or write, and where no positive result comes out of it I write SEC, and if no result I take it to Investment and Securities Tribunal or the law court. Most times, after service of court processes, you see the registrar calling and pleading to resolve the issues. Some people at this point will begin to ask for compensation. |

BabsO2: That 2k dividend proposed is painful. They need to review it to at least 5 kobo.
But that EPS of 34K looks really good.
Book value also got upward review through revaluations. Book value per share is now solidly above N2.20. Quarter on quarter earnings per share is going up. Debt also going down gently. Will HOLD. And watch how next week pans out. And wait for 2022 Q1. In truth, they did well last year especially in the 4th quarter. They made over 10billion in profit after tax for that quarter alone. Should they repeat same in all quarters of this year, they will have a N1 eps. But their dividend payout is too small shaa. Which one is 2kobo. It would even be better to not pay anything so that we know they are retaining for a reason. |

yMcy56: Wait....... Did you say the guy bought on the 4th? Cos I've been addressing the last qualification date thing.
If it was 4th, did Ucap appear in his trading portfolio? Have you printed his CSCS statement and saw it there? Cos it's supposed to appear there latest the 2nd day....... Did he fill E-Div form/transfer form and got approval mail from APR? Try and cross check these.......and if Yes, APR guys needs to answer for it.
Someone gave APR's CEO direct email addy sometimes ago, can cross check for you, if needs be that you involve him. To be sincere with you, I dont have all the details but from my knowledge of the law, he can sue both the broker and the registrar in the same suit, let them both answer and say who is liable. In my own opinion, my friend has no fault in this matter. Non execution of an edividend mandate would not deprive him of his entitlement to dividends. Once a person buys shares, CSCS should have all the details at once and the registrars ought to always update their records from cscs especially on the date of qualification. One thing you dont hear often is that a person who sold on qualification date got dividend. But the person that bought on that date will then be deprived |

yMcy56: @Mpeace Involve the guy's broker, do some findings to be sure the error wasn't from them, or that their system doesn't have any glitch which delayed updating clients' records before the markdown date.....
Also check the date/time for the closure of register of the coy......before taking any legal step. May be very hard to win such case against the Registrar.
Let this be a learning point for you, the guy and everyone too. Ok thank you. If its the broker's fault then he needs to sue the broker. |

I hope you didn't make this same mistake for your UCAP purchase........because there's always a window ....after qualification date to capture those who bought on the last qualification date. The name must have appeared in the register by then. Reason its always advisable for anyone interested in dividend not to wait till final QD. GTCO was marked down today.....yesterday was the final qualification date, and already passed. Can remember posting it here like twice yesterday self. GTB categorically stated that the Closure of Register shall be Thursday 24/03/2022. Dont you think someone that bought on qualification date is qualified for dividends? |

yMcy56: S/He is not qualified for Dividend again.
I hope you didn't make this same mistake for your UCAP purchase........because there's always a window of about 3-7 days or so....after qualification date to capture those who bought on the last qualification date. The name must have appeared in the register by then. Reason its always advisable for anyone interested in dividend not to wait till final QD. GTCO was marked down today.....yesterday was the final qualification date, and already passed. Can remember posting it here like twice yesterday self. I bought on qualification date, called afriprud and they merged my profile since I already did edividend mandate for my transcorp and other shares with them. I got my dividend. On the case at hand, I told the guy he is entitled to dividend having bought on 4th and qualification date being on 8th and before closure of register. He bought before me. His dividend is even more substantial. I support him to sue because after the case his dividend should cover his legal fees and still leave him with good returns, apart from damages. |
