CareerRe: Masters Scholarship In The UK Vs N500k Monthly Job In Nigeria by MrEgghead(m): 2:00pm On Mar 17, 2019

Choice Between Masters Scholarship In The UK Vs High Paying Job

Hello guys. I'm kinda in a dilemma rgt now. I'm a medical doctor about #500k a month with allowances. However I have been offered a scholarship for masters in the UK and I'm hoping to practice over these subsequently.

However I'm torn between resigning my job here in Nigeria (which though quite high paying but is riddled with frustrations from poor working conditions to poor facilities to practice my skills as a surgeon etc) OR accepting the scholarship offer and moving onto a place with good facilities and potentials.

I have this fear of the unknown, if I resign over here and move over there only to discover things aren't what it seemed or as rosy as I thought. Advice urgently needed pls.
If it's Residency scholarship I'd agree you take it but if you're to practise clinical medicine, Masters is useless anywhere in the world and it also means you're heading backward..If you're desperate to leave, take PLABS or USMLE exams and jettison irrelevant masters degree..You only need that if you wish to go into academic.

Just wondering: Can a partially accredited institution graduate students or how does it work?

It's 70% UTME, 30% O'levels (10 for 1 sitting).
100L MBBS is 52k+.
A partially accredited medical school CAN NOT graduate students; that's the implication.

Hello,

You are right, I'm sincerely sorry for dishing out wrong info here. What we have at UniAbuja is a partial accreditation. Just got to know this a few days ago.

Kindly accept my apologies, please.
I've said this before.
By God's grace UniAbuja will get Full accreditation very soon.

Hello Doc, I had my first degree as doctor of optometry but am considering of studying medicine to end up as ophthalmologist. Running a private eye Clinic and studying medicine as well, how do you see it?
Since you have made up your mind to get MBBS, you can combine it with your optometry practise.
All you need do is to ensure that you don't lag behind in your studies.
It's possible if you are wise and diligent.

You can see how intellectually incapacitated you are. I have friends who are medics but your comments and that other Lady's on this thread is uncalled for. What if she actually decided to read Microbiology? And who told you you'd outshine her if you read the same course she did? I mean, I can be a genius and decide to read yoruba education, that's none of your fucking business neither does it make me less intelligent. So I repeat, just wish the young and intelligent lady well and stop bothering about her career choice. Your mind is so deluded...gosh..I'm done arguing with kids.
I'm sorry if I was harsh but damn it you were also impetuous to have backlashed the Lady.
She was civil, factual and polite in her comments but you decided to add meanings to it.
I'm not the type the appraise people based on what they study at all..I'm more intelligent than that.
Perhaps, I misjudged your intents and that's why I was impetuous in my appraisal; don't be offended.

You're very stupid. How you lots belief everyone wants to study medicine baffles me and when I see how wretched some of you are, I wonder. Just wish the young lady well on her achievement and stop moaning on how she couldn't study medicine. Last time I checked, Forbes hasn't included any one in its list of world's richest cos of the course he/she studied. If I like, I study paper technology, it's none of your business. So stop being a fool nigga and grow up.
Your post depicts how petulant and pathetic you're because you couldn't get medicine. It's nobody's fault that you were not intelligent enough.
And for your info, I never directed any invectives against the scholar, I admire her hard work and intelligence but fact is fact, many of them couldn't gain admission to medicine and there's nothing bad about that.
I'm wary of people like you who take turns to cast aspersions at those who were able to study medicine and who speak facts not fictions..
Don't be pained and aggrieved.
Embrace your career just the way we enjoy ours.
Some medical Doctors had carved a niche for themselves and their names engraved for posterity.
Not everyone will become Bill gate and we all know that.

And hope your life is better than hers with your MBBS? Funnily enough, no one knows you. Fool!
How are you sure nobody knows her? Is nairaland no more a faceless forum?
Don't be so pained because you couldn't study Medicine; no all dreams all achieved; accept that in good fate or you could do yourself good by being persistent about getting it.

No string attached, just my opinions.

The fact about betting is that it becomes dangerous and can destroy one's life when one gets addicted to it.
I used to play bet9ja but I've realised it does more harm than good. Even when you win which comes rarely, there's tendency that you'll continue to play and your winnings will be recovered by the company in due time.
It's not something you should partake in if you have focus, It ruins lives!

PLEASE CAN SOMEONE EXPLAIN WHAT IS ....

1.ACCEPTANCE LETTER

2.JAMB LETTER

3. EVIDENCE OF NAME?? ...

OR HOW TO GET IT
Evidence of Name is only necessary when your names in all your documents are not in conformity with one another, I.e Change of Name.
It is to notify everyone concerned that you're still the bearer of all the names..
If your names are the same all through your documents, you don't have to bother yourself about that.

Jamb letter can be downloaded from JAMB website with the payment of 1-1.5k and the acceptance is to be written by you telling the university that you accepted their admission but it has a format.
HealthDoctors Find 122 Nails, Broken Glasses Inside Patient's Stomach In Ethiopia. by MrEgghead(op): 4:44pm On Oct 23, 2018
Ethiopia doctors extracted over a hundred iron nails and other sharp objects from the stomach of a patient in the capital Addis Ababa at the weekend.
Dawit Teare, a surgeon at St. Peter’s Specialised Hospital, said the 33-year-old patient suffers from mental illness and had apparently consumed the items, including 122 four inches (10 centimetres) nails, four pins, a toothpick and pieces of broken glass.
“The patient has been suffering from mental illness for the last 10 years and had stopped taking his medication two years ago, one probable reason he started consuming inanimate objects,” Dawit told AFP after the two-and-a-half hour operation.
“I’m guessing he consumed the objects with the help of water, however, he is a lucky person that those sharp objects didn’t cut his stomach. That could have led to serious infections and even death,” he said.
The surgeon said that while he had dealt with other cases in which people with mental illness had swallowed multiple sharp objects, he had never encountered a case on this scale.
Dawit added that the patient was recovering well.
