HammedOlanaija: Why are the state universities and Federal Universities wasting our funds then and as that 4years with nothing to account for. They should just shut it down abi Initially, There were no degree programs for those BMS courses..They were just courses offered by medical students. But because of so much people applying for Medicine and end up not getting it, They had to create those departments to as leverage. |

igwedehxy: Thank you. I respect when someone pass their message without any disrespect. I actually reacted because I could imagine how such words from him could damage the aspirations of most people on this thread. I know when I got into medical school, admission was not really hectic and demanding like now. So, I try to be cheerful when I advice people. I try to avoid negativity and instill hope in them even if it may not work out.. I asked that question cos I have encouraged my kid bro severally that he stands a high chance especially in these times that he is on the verge of loosing interest in medicine and then showing him reactions on this thread, especially from that pessimistic poster up there will make it easy for him. I really wish he understands that "one can be honest without sounding pessimistic". As for egghead or what he calls himself as a self acclaimed registrar of NMA and MDCN who has the list of all licensed doctors in Nigeria and knows who is not a doctor. That is pride in its utmost manifest. I know he is a medical student and I hope he doesn't approach his senior colleagues with that mindset cos we will reset him. "There is Hierarchy in Medicine" , so respect ur senior colleagues. Regards. I'm sorry for my outburst but you were totally wrong for insulting mandeyy and the other person. You don't have to insult someone before passing your message. I respect everybody and I know there's "Hierarchy in Medicine". |

Are they all supposed to go into teaching line because the system of BMS is bad in Nigeria? Just think outside the box. Go for your Masters or Ph.D and probably become a lecturer No job for them in hospitals. |

KingAzubuike: That's why you should thrive to study these courses in a federal university. Federal schools are extremely cheap. Medical students pay as low as 25k or even less per session. Your own mission is to just read and pass. . btwn to get Medicine in federal University is a turg of war, that's why she picked Bowen. |
Education › Re: (PHOTOS) Victor Odinaka With 324 Jamb Score Denied Admission By UNIABUJA by MrEgghead(m): 4:49pm On Apr 27, 2020 |
casdoruche: Am still wondering and disturbed that someone who got 324 couldn't secure admission into University of Abuja. Is so funny and unbelievable right? I never imagined such is possible, but guess what, I witnessed one, and the person in question here is my very own brother. After scoring 324 in his (2019) Jamb, 33/50 in post-utme, and 3 A's, 6 B's in his WAEC (first sitting) while applying for Medicine into the institution, yet, the school denied him admission. Reasons for this denial is ridiculously still mysterious and unknown. Most schools I know like UI, UNN, UNIZIK to mention a few usually release criterias and cutoff marks, but in this case, there was non like that. And the most painful part of this is that for that same course, those with 290 and below were offered admission. Life and Nigeria could be so funny; and am wondering what is it we are promoting in our institutions. Here is a student with an exceptional academic disposition, to even say he's the best graduating student from one of the best science secondary school in South west, with several Scientific discovery and invention under his sleeve to be made public in due time, yet he's a victim of this injustice is quite disturbing and unacceptable. Given the fact that admission into Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria is without the knowledge and confirmation of Jamb begs alot of questions. Is it that they are not aware that probably one of their top fifty best score in 2019 couldn't secure admission? Or is it that they choose to play to the gallery? All this and many more are questions that beg's for answers. With all this, there's no way we will allow him face this injustice from his own dear nation. He won't be rewriting Jamb, cause we're not seeing any reasons for that. God knows why this was even possible in the first place, cause I myself am still in a state of shock; totally unbelievable. There's no denying of the fact that injustice may have been melted on your brother but you've to understand that Medicine is ridiculously competitive in Nigeria. UNIABUJA uses jamb and post utme scores as well as waec results to grade their candidates. Those Bs" and 33/50 may have affected his aggregate... When I gained admission, I had 296, my roommate had 317 but I had 81 in post utme which culminated to 78agg. My room mate had 63 as his pume score and 71 agg...I gained admission, he was not given despite his high Jamb score.... That's to tell you how competitive MBBS admission is...you may find it hard to believe that your Brother may have not been among the top 100 candidates for Medicine. If you're so confident he was jilted, you could take it up with JAMB via their Twitter handle and see how things unfold. |

Impulse2020: Good day everyone, I scored 281 in jamb this year. But I am having problems choosing between AAU and Uniben, college of medicine
The reason is because of the finances of which I can't afford in AAU... I need at least 250k to be stable in my 1st year. Which is cheaper in uniben
But I would have completely chose Uniben, but this is my 3rd time take jamb, I have 279, 270 and 281 consecutively.
I have passion for medicine
There are two options in my mind
1. Secure this is Ekpoma, and take Utme and see if I can make it in uniben, so that I don't put my eggs in one basket
2. Just take uniben post ume, if it doesn't work out write next year
I need help please
Secondly, what is uniben cut off for indigenes please I heard it's 74, while merit is 77 I assume you're from Edo or Delta so your chances of getting MBBS with that score is low... But that fact is you can still get Medicine with that score if you score high in the post UTME. I know someone who had 287 in Jamb and got 77 in Putme...He had 75 agg and he got MBBS admission. He's from Edo State. Having said that, UNIBEN will be a better choice because it's status and fees. Even If you don't make Medicine list this year, you may accept any course with the hope of either transferring or writing another UTME to gain admission next year... I heard they admit up to 700 students in MBBS AAU, I don't know how they do it but that doesn't mean you can easily get it there because many of them most have bought their admissions...Many of them will even be evicted later before they graduate which makes that option not palatable enough. |

How is Madonna University, s Medical school. For somebody who is no more a boy, a doctorate degree holder in human psychology, who wishes to go for his dream course in medicine and surgery. How is the attitudinal behaviourism of the school and its management. Can they attend to elders with some degree of respect, cos I heard they carry out coporal punishments on students. Pls what's your factual non presumptuous advice on this. The Biggest question should be "Does Madonna Medical school have full accreditation from MDCN? You should take that into consideration first. |

dukeprince50: its not a lie, I had passion for medicine, I really do. But at this moment, I have passion for money lol. As a consultant in d medical field, they pay u 700-800k monthly, same with professor, but see ehn, business fit pay u 5mila, 10mila, 100mila if u want to ball high etc in a month.
I may not be saying this if I got my dream course because that course may not open my eyes and I'll still wallow in my stupidity.
People have passion for money o, no worry when u leave school, u go understand say money comes before profession.
See ehn, If u drop Otedola/Adeleke(multi millionaires) and Ben Carson(med doctor) , wake me up from deep sleep and tell me to choose one, I'll choose Otedola. Who profession epp? Na money be fine bobo The funny thing about life is that No amount of money can be enough. Even Dangote wants to earn more by opening new ventures every year.. You thought Medicine could give you the money you needed hence, your choice but you weren't given which changed your mindset because you had no choice.. But Some persons chose out it out of passion and they can still make millions from it.... There's no limitation to what anyone can achieve in any field. |

shollish: Well perhaps you haven't heard about pharmaceutical care. Pharmacists handle minor ailments because they are the most easily accessible and they know when the situation is above them to refer to appropriate authorities. That's exactly what I've been talking about.. Your job is not treat any minor ailments, your job is to vet medicines and dispense the drugs prescribed the Doctor... It's only a lawless country like Nigeria that allows such trash.. The Doctors even suffer backlash from people owing to death after they must have been handled by quacks. |

For example me, I have tried UI 3 times now, beside are you a doctor sir Many people prefer federal universities because of their school fees, taste and presumed prestige. You can easily get MBBS in other federal universities than UI. UNICAL and UNIPORT for example. I'm a medical student. |
