This is just glory hunt by the west. They didn't do any flintlock when BH was running riot, they refused us lethal weapons, now that BH is receiving a pasting these latter day converts want to parachute in and claim to be part of the success. This camping trip has NO impact whatsoever on the fight against BH, I am glad no Nigerian SF operators spoke to yeye CNN. Failure is an orphan but success has many fathers.

Are these guys aware that the power industry has been privatised? This is akin to promising x number of mobile phone lines in 2yrs when the entire sector is privately run, is he going to nationalise the industry?

Secondly 20kMW will cost about $30Billion (6 trillion naira) to construct apart from the gas gathering processing and piping. Whats the average FDI over the past 5 years? How will all that capital be mobilised and the construction done in 4 years? The plan to invest more than your current reserves in ONE sector! These guys are either lying or stupid and both are not good. Sorry I take that back, they can't be lying they're just plain stupid.

All these NLand threads are very funny, people who agree on a particular issue gather and start mutual self delusion then opposers gatecrash the thread and insults start to fly. Same pattern all the time. Seun is having a blast, this is peak period for his business. Bros u do well.

The stupidity of both camps of supporters here is amazing and amusing. The rent a crowd 'supporters' at party rallies is no indicator of electoral success because its basically people of like minds (or mercenaries) gathering for some motivational speeches and mutual backslapping. They represent the vocal minority(party loyalists) The silent majority (people without party affiliation) will determine who wins.

The man is absolutely correct! Just Google the word 'essential commodity' GMB instituted price controls after confiscating private stocks because businesses were "hoarding" this drove goods off the shelves and the only available source was govt controlled products. People queued like it was USSR (same rubbish is happening in Venezuela)

An ignorant and gullible electorate is more dangerous to democracy than crooked politicians. Please if you were not alive when Buhari ruled go and educate yourself or ask your parents. Alternatively google the words "essential commodity" "decree 4" "decree 20" 'Nduka Irabor and Tunde Thompson" "Barthlomew Owoh" and come back and proclaim the man's sainthood if you are convinced he did well. I won't even mention lagos metro project.

These guys are not doing GMB any favours. By putting a sectional/ethnic spin on his candidacy they will only alienate the few supporters he has in the south and ensure a repeat of 2011. His candidacy has enough problems as it is and he doesn't need any 'support' from such divisive and misguided fellows.
Politics / Re: There Is Little Evidence Buhari Can Fix Nigeria - BBC Will Ross by mrjingles(m): 4:58pm On Dec 13, 2014
I have been watching this dialogue of the deaf for NINE pages and all am seeing are insults and arguments over PERSONALITIES, where are the policy proposals for debate and discussion? There are only three questions to ask any candidate at any level:
1. WHAT do you stand for (ideology, beliefs)
2. WHAT are your plans (vision, strategy)
3. HOW do you plan to achieve them (Policies and action plan)

Any thing else is fluff, BS, demagoguery and personality cultism. I rest.

Where are all the youths who cry for FG to "remember the youth" "encourage the youth" etc. The government has thrown down the gauntlet and very few are taking up the challenge. This shows most of our youth are just armchair critics and lazy people. Shame.

Career / Re: Are Indian Bosses In Nigeria That Bad??? by mrjingles(m): 8:23am On Nov 07, 2013
I noticed no one has called Indian bosses LAZY or UNPRODUCTIVE which is what counts in a private business. You may not like them but one thing you can say is that they are very hard working, unfortunately the average Nigerian worker comes with a sense of entitlement (some even feel entitled to steal their employers blind). You may call them mean and unkind but the office is not a place to find love and be cuddled, if you want that go home to your mother. Of course there is also the option to quit.

A dangerous culture of moaning whining and complaining has crept into our lives, Indians as a nation are DOERS, we are sliding into a nation of TALKERS. We moan and complain about the government, our leaders, our bosses, if not for all these "wicked" people our lives would be heaven. That's just a lot of BS, a man uses millions and tons of sweat to set up a business and some clown comes along expecting to NOT do his job and get paid? I will kick your bum! If you want a kind boss why not set your own business and handout big money for no work to your staff?

Politics / Re: Oduah Shuns House Committee Hearing As Cars Presented Are Different by mrjingles(m): 1:55pm On Oct 31, 2013
Ijebulogic:

My brother, I don't understand this rationalization of illegality. How is the Waiver of 10% duty on a N10m Lagos State sports festival Car = 10% Waiver on duty of a N100m NCAA Car? I don't understand this advanced "mathemagics" sir. Lets wait and see how the Governor of Lagos State and Senior Advocate of Nigeria reacts to Coscharis explanation.
[quote author=Ijebulogic]

The man has done an EXCELLENT analysis. Let me explain further. assume the company has 200 cars in stock and LASG asked for 300 cars, it issues say 150 to avoid having an empty store, it has paid duties on these cars which it is giving away either free or below cost, even if they get the cars back , they would have lost value so it cannot recover its full price to cover cost and a profit. Since coscharis is not red cross it has to be compensated to encourage corporate sponsorship because if LASG buys 300 Beemers it would cost a king's ransom (that's the whole point of getting sponsors- getting stuff free or almost free) The only way to encourage businesses to do this is to give them breaks on taxes, fees, duties etc. So if they give away cars as sponsorship, they get waivers for the equivalent or higher duties applicable for FUTURE imports. The alternative is the govt to refund duties which would be clumsy. So if they import 150 cars duty free to make up 300 they still have unutilised duty on 150 cars.

Now a smart business man will apply those waivers on HIGH VALUE imports to max his margins. The man did nothing illegal, you may argue its immoral but its not illegal.

In my view after coscharis' testimony this matter is dead and closed. we may complain the money is excessive but proving fraud is highly unlikely. Just as an aside, THINKING someone stole money doesn't make it so, SAYING it doesn't amount to proof. Even if there's fraud you have to PROVE it, if you cant then tough luck. This is just a storm in a teacup, a contrived crisis.

They held one other debate in abuja, sorry but where are the voters for this election? I also heard Uba campaigned in the US....will anambra people resident in the US vote? There's sooo much BS in this story even a cow will cover her nose! Innuendo, hearsay (dem say dem say) and outright falsehood. Stomach churning stuff. Annoyingly all these 'victims' of ASUU and semi literates with internet access are shouting up and down. How about a tidy libel lawsuit against these jokers? But then, suing them will confer undeserved relevance on them. How does requesting case files amount to "withdrawal of cases"? And where does a chief judge have powers to "withdraw" any case when he isn't the prosecutor/ attorney general or complainant? This reporter is either stvp!d or mischeivious.

is it just me or do all these unions go on strike when elections are around the corner? I just hope large amounts of money are not changing hands somewhere. I for one don't like the concept of strike action, if anyone does not like their condition of work they always have a choice- quit and go elsewhere. that is a more effective way of showing discontent imho.

Politics / Re: APC Promises 40,000MW To Stop Power Outage Pains by mrjingles(m): 10:50am On Aug 23, 2013
This debate is IRRELEVANT! Forget about the costs and viability of 40k MW in 4-8 yrs (NOT possible by the way) The power sector PRIVATIZATION is almost done, so any politician promising any kind of megawatt going forward is a fraudster from another planet. Those guys cant even promise 1mw! the reason is simple, by the time privatization is complete Govt NO LONGER build power plants so how can anybody promise anything? Just imagine a candidate coming to promise x number of new phone lines in 2 years or CBN governor promising x number of banks in 3 years, any smart person will know its rubbish and laughable. That is exactly what these chaps are doing, promising metrics on a process they have NO CONTROL over. Except they want to take nigeria back to where we are trying to run away from.

I am not a supporter of any political movement but with all due respect these guys must be smoking some very hard stuff or they are from another galaxy or they maybe they think they engaged in time travel to 1979 but they should be laughed out of the room. Its ridiculous. People shouldn't bother asking them how they plan to do it,but ask ARE YOU GUYS OK?

Sports / Re: Sunday Oliseh Replies Stephen Keshi! - by mrjingles(m): 1:23am On Jul 10, 2013
Oliseh got it totally WRONG! he succumbed to emotions on the day of the match and is too proud to admit his error. I was sooo mad at him on the day in question because he was talking RUBBISH on this matter and he is STILL talking rubbish. Lets analyse the absentees:
Moses-injured, ike uche-off form, kalu uche-injured, joel obi-injured, onazi-injured, emenike-injured, oduamadi-injured during confed, anichebe- opted out, martins- off form, osaze- problem child(with keshi AND his club) So which foreign based player who was in good form should have been called?

look at our strike force- musa-second top scorer for club in Russia, Ideye-second top scorer in the ukraine LEAGUE, akpala- foreign, ujah-foreign, ogu-foreign, ogude-foreing, in fact only 2 homebased were regular in confed- oboabona and mbah, how does that constitute a "fight against foreign based"?
It appears Oliseh for all his eloquence and good analysis doesn't actually know the players in the team. This is a group of average, hard working players save for 1 or 2 who are being turned slowly into a good TEAM and its a big work in progress, the experience for the boys was priceless. Notice how the home based eagles easily demolished CIV 4-1? That is what renewed confidence and self belief created by keshi's approach is leading to. Eagles actually were forced to use a second string side at the confeds.

Investment / Re: What Investors Want To See In Your Business Plan by mrjingles(m): 11:47pm On Jun 17, 2013
ezstino:

on point my brother. people who have really started businesses know that exit strategy is as important as market entry strategy. Reason is dat every business can fail and any plan without exit strategy is incomplete. I am writing from a personal experience
Exit strategy does not only refer to failure of the business, that is a worst case scenario. the first exit strategy refers to how the investor will "cash out" or realize his investment. Is it by sale to another business? Stock exchange listing, dividend recapitilization etc. Some Investors are not only interested in dividends but growing the value of the business.

I liken exit strategy to a divorce, before the marriage plan for the divorce.
