@taharka it's mostly innocent people jtf are killing - deliberately. In fact jtf has committed more atrocities than boko haram. Are u saying people should not condemn jtf's lawlessness? How can jtf bring peace to Borno when it has alienated itself from d people and many people now see boko haram as d lesser of two evils? |
D jtf has been on a killing spree in borno, gunning down innocent people, looting & even r.aping. It's unbelievable d atrocities they are commiting in d name of security operations. Those hailing these murderers probably dont know d extent of their atrocities. Borno elders, ordinary citizens, & most people ar fed up wt jtf. Most people would rather contend wt boko haram than hav these rampaging bandits called jtf occupy d towns . Jtf cannot be trusted- nor be believed. |
This report if true shows how boko haram keeps changing their tactics. They started by attacking only security forces. In the first change of tactics they added to their targets not only churches but also muslim clerics who oppose them and bulamas(ward heads) suspected of working against them. They hav now added retired members of uniformed services (including customs, immigration, civil defence, prisons, frsc) - these retirees are especially vulnerable, so must be security conscious at all times. This attempted plane bombing again shows how boko haram is expanding its targets. I believe that they are trying to avoid face-to-face combat with JTF to minimize casualty. Their new strategy of targetted killing sadly would mean boko haram is going underground and the killings would continue for a long time. |
The criminal is an ilorin man, so no surprise. To a typical ilorin man dishonesty, lying, cheating, promoting injutice, adultery & fornication and indulging in all manner of iniquity constitute a way of life, which is conviniently masked by a facade of religiosty. |
supereagle: South West may not need the North again for Beef incase Nigeria splits before 2015.Since u are in love with "split", can u tell us how many countries d South West will "split" into. |
Wht's d price of d phone again, just to confirm. And d national minimum wage is what? |
NJC can not be trusted because of their inconsistency. They say one thing today and reverse themselves another day. The same people that cleared Salami and said GEJ snould reinstate him are now saying Salami should retire. Should Salami heed NJC? He doesnt hav to, because the inconsistent NJC can come up with another recommendation asking him to be reinstated! God save Nigeria, many of these people are serving judicial officers but can not be trusted - in fact they dont even trust themselves. Pray u dont hav a case in court before these people and their ilk. |
We are all singing ONE NIGERIA because of music. That's not bad, but we should THINK One Nigeria ALWAYS. |
Every thing is made easy in Islam, so no muslim need complain about the price of ram or other animals used for ileya. You sacrifice an animal only if you can afford one. Simple. Islam is a Knowledge-based religion, a religion of scholarship - so you must learn the rules about any act of ibadah. Ileya sacrifice is only for those who can afford it.Even if a ram sells for only 1000 naira there will still be people who can not afford it. Those who Allah has provided with the means should give a share of the meat to those who are not able to do the ileya and indeed their neighbours irrespective of faith. You do not place a burden on yourself when Allah has made things easy for you -that's the teaching of our dear prophet. May Allah guide all to the straight path, the sunnah of the prophet. |
ikeyman00:I deal with facts. Why not refute me with your own "facts". People like you find their way to the seat of power and allow simple issues to get out of control for selfish reasons. |
The judgment is skewed. If the child were stolen from US or Canada or European country would the judge have allowed the couple to keep the child? I smell racism. |
RIP. Boko haram keeps changing tactics. Initially they attacked only security forces. They then started attacking churches(though not individual xtians outside church), muslim clerics who oppose them, and ward heads suspected of working against them. In their latest statement BH threatens to start attacking wives and children of members of the security forces - Ibrahim shekau specifically mentions SSS men as targets. It would appear that boko haram treats retired members of uniformed services as if they were still in service hence this attack and similar ones in the past. These retired persons as we hav seen are particularly vulnerable and should be extremely security conscious as boko haram violence is getting worse by the day. |
We dont know who is lying between JTF and Zanna. At 6.42 a.m this morning(20/10/2012) on BBC Hausa service Zanna admitted JTF raided his house but denied that Bama was arrested their. He admitted some people living in his house were led away by JTF and they got information from one of them which led to the arrest of Bama but not in his house. He also denied links with boko haram activities but admitted Bama is a relation. One thing is clear, though, BH members are mainly sons and maybe daughters of Borno. But late Mohammed Yusuf was able to reach out to the youth in north east & north west through his radical speeches and sermons in the 8 years boko haram operated peacefully and openly (2001 to 2009). ALL leading politicians in Borno, both ANPP and PDP,courted boko haram because of its large following especially among the poverty stricken, uneducated youth. The BH violence only started in 2009 when they fell out with ex-gov Sheriff, who used police to arrest and kill them thus pushing BH to resort to arming themselves to confront the state. So no one should be surprised about the alleged link of two senators to BH. All politicians in Borno hav links with them at one time though boko haram is now out of control of any politician. God save us, for politicians across the country do support armed groups which are called by different names like "youth movement", "body guards","thugs", "youth caucus", this or that front, vanguard, the boys, area boys, etc. |
On Saturday 20/10/2012 6.42 a.m Senator Ahmed Zanna said on BBC Hausa Service that he is d senator who has a house on Bama Road, Maiduguri but denied that Shuaibu Mohammed Bama was arrested in his house. He however admitted that JTF raided his house and rounded up a number of people and may hav got information from one of the people arrested that led them to where they arrested Shuaibu Mohammed Bama. He denied ever having any link with Shuaibu Mohammed Bama or boko haram, implying that JTF lied by announcing that Bama was arrested in his house |
This man has stated his own side of the story. Let's here GLO's. We can then rule on the matter. |
candieangel12: For the last time, I didn't say I would never cook. I said my husband shouldnt expect me to cook every day.You will still hav to agree on the days you wont be cooking. |
candieangel12: Yeah, you made a correct guess. Too busy to slave over a stove 4 now. Even when I get married, my husband shouldn't expect a home cooked meal every day or week, unless he cooks it 4 himself. I will cook only when I feel like it and have the time and strength to do so.Better tell your man b4 the wedding; if u dont, pls do not post any thread here about how somebody has betayed your trust - you wont get any sympathy. Across nigeria the culture is the same - women do the cooking. Cooking for your husband and family is not slavery, but some woman are lazy and would prefer to be eating junk food outside even to the detriment of their health rather than cook wholesome meals at home for the family. |
Pls arrest of a "big man" in nigeria should never again make front page. D law says a person is innocent until proven otherrwise, so why make fuss about the arrest of innocent Mr Uba. We know from precedent that he will not be put on trial for lack of evidence. However if he is ever put on trial we know it's only for show, for the judge, himself no better than the accused as far as corruption goes, will eventually discharge and acquit him. So what's the point in reporting such crap, something that's no news to anybody in this country. |
Must u use facebook? Decent folks dont waste their time on that trash. |
flexya: @mu2sa2: please enlighten me on the facts of Atiku/Haruna case as I wasn't in Nija then. Was Atiku ever sworn in or was he picked as vp whilst he was still governor-elect cos that case might be the only precedence needed. Also was that a Supreme court judgement of lower court? In 1999 Atiku/ Boni haruna were nominated by PDP to contest Adamawa state governorship. They won. Atiku was then picked as Obasanjo's running mate in the presdential election of the same year. Haruna was challenged at the elections petition tribunal on the ground that he contested as the deputy governorship candidate and should not be sworn in as governor. The tribunal ruled that under the 1999 constitution the candidates contested on a joint ticket.Atiku was not sworn in as governor. That's what I can recall. |
The plaintiff is surely raising a valid legal issue. And timely too. Gej contested on one tikect with Yar'adua. In presidential and governorship elections the candidates and the deputy candidates contest on joint tickets - so has held the courts (Atiku/Boni haruna in Adamawa governership). When Yar'adua died Gej assumed his position and completed his first term as president. In 2011 Gej contested again and was declared winner. He is therefore now serving his second and final term in office as president. It's good for the court to declare the legal status of Gej now so that we can face 2015 squarely without the distraction of whether or not Gej has declared his intention to contest. D only saving grace for Gej is that judges are now corrupt and therefore unreliable- he can do what he did before to hav the courts to say what he wants. Shikena! |
Want to know where the guns are? Ask the thugs politicians like to hav around them - ALL politicians, north, east west or south. |
What is the difference between "christian music" and so-called secular music? What u would call secular music becomes christian music if at the end of the track the artiste says "praise d lord" or similar christian words. |
The unofficial "office of the first lady" was started by Maryam Babangida. She is the first and the best first lady by far.All the first ladies following her are just trying to follow in her footsteps- nothing original from them. One important aspect about Maryam Babangida was that she never abandoned her natural, God-assigned role of being fully in charge of the home - throughout her married life she never abandoned her home and children, despite her public visibility. Rest in peace GREAT example for the womenfolk. |
Tribalism has been the enemy of nigeria. we always support our tribesmen on issues whether they are right or wrong. it's very hard to find nigerians who live their lives without prejudice and tribal sentiments. Soyinka is one of the rare nigerians who is not controlled by this. LONG LIVE TO YOU SOYINKA.
Soyinka is not a tribalist? You can say that again! |
You cant be smart unless you are brilliant and if you are brilliant you are smart! |
Doesn't the pastor collects the tithe on behalf of God and spend it on His behalf? |
What would a sango worshiper think of ur "religion" if s/he reads this? - good? bad? ugly? fraud? |
I am just thinking: Does the concept of forgiveness apply in this case ("forgive that you may be forgiven" .No insults pls.Rational discussion only. Thanks. |
Americans wear jeans, so we also wear jeans. American music we listen to like crazy. Americans love fast food, so we eat junk food like mad. Now, our mental colonial masters have dumped blackberry .... |
This incident reminds me of one of my professors, himself an igbo, who said an igbo man can sell his brother for money.Given the criminal tendencies of these people, would biafra not hav been the most accursed place on earth? One naija forever and ever. |
I am afraid as long as corruption thrives in d public service these unnecessary travels will never end. In d public service in this country the easiest way to make huge money is to allocate a huge chunk of the budget for travels and draw the money by going on all sorts of frivolous journeys. Sometimes money is claimed without going anywhere-they just stay away from office for the number of days claimed. From d presidnt to governors to legislators to admin officers, virtually everyone is engaged in this scam. |
