The Da Vinci Code was created by Dan Brown, an American film maker, who was raised a Christian and describes himself as a Christian.

He has disputes and questions about the religion and religious text. He claimed Jesus was married to mary Magdelene and other claims, the same as have been made in the past few days also.
Many Christians had an issue over the film and its claims and were offended by it.

However, the book was a best seller (only outsold in 2004 by JK Rawlings) and many went to watch the film.... there was no reward offered for his death.

@Dudu Negro......you do know that the man behind the offending film is Egyptian born right? He is a religious refugee in the US as he had his Egyptian citizenship revoked, just last year

He is an Egyptian coptic Christian, who lives in America now.

So, how does he respresent "the west" as you say......how can one individual represent billions of people? This is why it is irrational.
Even when US leaders and others come out to denounce the movie, people still want it to be associated with America, but not just them........but ALL Christians and all non-muslim societies, they even burned the Israel flag over it, as if there is ANY connection at all between the two.

People want so desperately to feel they have a right to violence and that there has been a legitimate provocation far and wide beyond the makers of the film.

I can understand that people are offended and that this film should never have been released, because we know that some people will kill innocent people over it, so in that sense Morris Sedak has blood on his hands

intrepid: Thanks ray.This reminds me of Dan Brown's "THE DA VINCI CODE" Christians did not kill anyone nos even the guy who made millions of dollars soon from the book but i know that if it was the muslims,thousands would have died by now...Religion of peace indeed....I wonder what all the enlightened men in islam are doing about this crass ignorance,if actually they are not hypocritical about it all.

Even Jesus spoke a lot about the coming suicide bombing by Muslims an cautioned Christians not to be afraid.
Jesus warned his disciples that Islamic terrorism was coming but that it should not make them afraid (the goal of terrorism is to cause fear). He said
"I am telling you this to keep you from being afraid…. the time will come when people will kill you and think they are doing God a favor. They will do these things because they don't know either the Father or me. I am saying this to you now, so that when the time comes, you will remember what I have said. I was with you at the first, and so I didn't tell you these things” John 16:1-4

Jesus obviously was not referring to the persecution of Christians by the Roman Emperors who did it for political reasons. He was talking about a people that will do it for religious reasons-thinking they are doing God (not god) a favour. In Islam Jihad literally means “the struggle to please God”, the same God of the Christians. So those suicide bombers actually believe they are doing God a favour just like Jesus foresaw. Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi, sometimes called "the world's most quoted independent Islamic jurist", has called martyrdom operations:

“the greatest of all sorts of Jihad in the Cause of Allah. A martyr operation is carried out by a person who sacrifices himself, deeming his life less value than striving in the Cause of Allah, in the cause of restoring the land and preserving the dignity”.
Your quotation from Jesus can refer to various situations today. In the Middle East d Isrealis are engaged in what looks like slow genocide against Palestinian Christians and Muslims.D United States (Christians) is engaged in systematic extermination of innocent men, women and children (Muslims) in Pakistan, Afghanistan and Yemen using drones. All around d world senseless killings abound - some perpetrated by xtians.

olusolajames: i'd advice you take a good investment policy. It could be with an insurance company, probably with Niger Insurance Plc. I bet in less than 5yrs, you'd realize a tangible sum of money. Please invest!

They said they do not want us in their country so why are we forcing ourselves on them?
