So many christians would sometimes preface their statement with "God told me". Are they not fantasizing? |
yohanna zack: Dat was a gud one there. But butler shuld count himself lucky he is not frm another society or faith, he wuld hav been gistin wit his late grand parents now. Jesus is indeed LORD.But you wont find sordid cases of sex.ual misconduct, secrecy and high-level corruption in the faith you are alluding to.But why must you drag another faith in when dealing with scandals in your own faith? |
Gej is so corrupt he is concealing his wealth by refusing to declare his assets publicly (hiding something and dont give a damn about it). How can we declare any of his predecessors most corrupt when we dont know how much Gej has stolen? |
confusion247: We all knew that you are educated and more experienced to lecture us. Kindly tell us the solution to this problem. The only thing that can solve this problem is division. We can divide into four or more so that we can have peace. After 98 years of unholy marriage, after 52 years as a nation we still kill ourselves in the name of religion and tribe. Then you are here thinking that miracles will happen. For this unnecessary killings to stop, we will divide so that northerners will have freedom to practice their religion without interference from Nigerian constitution.Divide into 4 or more countries- that's your solution to solving nigeria's problems! How did u arrive at 4? Why not 776 (no. of LGAs) or 36 or 240 (tribes) countries. But will the same problems not exist in those countries. Let's face it, boko haram, armed robbery, ritual killings, extra judicial killings by security forces - and all other problems confronting nigeria- are perpetrated by human beings, not jinns. All we need is good governance and focussed, honest committed leaders to tackle the problems. |
Rich4god: Am not an advocate for the division of this country. But a saying goes like this "Out of 2 evils, one is lesser." for me, i think the lesser evil now is for us to divide cos its a greater evil for the country to be united and fighting each other. Now one knows what BH are planing this xmas... and one can tell the reaction from other regions if something goes wrong in the north. It's simplistic to say nigeria should divide. You will hav to tell us how many countries nigeria should divide into. The brats talking about splitting nigeria on nairaland are too young or uneducated to know that you dont run away from a problem in order to solve it. |
BinghiNya: hiv prevalent in christian states oh jesusIt's a paradox: while chritianity abhors sex outside marriage, christians everywhere indulge in it like mad. Shall we call them hypocrites? |
Good news indeed. But govt officials will still prefer to go abroad for "medical checkup", because it's an avenue to siphon public money. No matter the facilities at home governors, ministers, top govt officials- and their family members- will continue to troop abroad in the name of medical treatment, many even going several times in a year for "follow up". A big chunk of the recurrent expenditure of govt is earmarked for these thievish trips. |

Nigeria's leaders are corrupt because the system will not allow an honest person to attain leadership position. from councillorship to presidency if you are a peeson of integrity and honour, you will never be allowed to get there. So only thieves, liars, men/women of iniquity, dullards will be found in leadership positions. |
karl max: Shey some peeps said there were no celebration in the north!Gov Babangida is an incurable talkative trying to boost his underground campaign for pdp's presidential ticket in 2015. That's why he has joined in sensationalising the rumour of jubilation over yakowa's death-yes, rumour because no picture anywhere of the alleged jubilation. Of course some people's bread is buttered by yakowa's death - christians and muslims- and they are surely happy inside. |
The guy is a jester. But beyond that, the issue of jubilation over the death of Yakowa is been exaggerated. Of course his political foes would be happy that he died;so also would the supporters of his successor because heaven has buttered their bread. Does anyone doubt that even fellow christians that are jostling for the position of deputy governor are not smiling inside them for the opprtunity created by Yakowa's exit. some people are just over-sensationalising the alleged jubilation- alleged, because not a single picture has been posted anywhere of such jubilation. |
Leadership position is really not a bed of roses, that's why Obama has gone grey and older than his age. But the reverse is the case in nigeria - here, the people in power rigged themselves into office and are not thinking about anything but how to loot public fund and conceal it (by refusing to declare their asset publicly like GEJ). Not being under any pressure a nigerian leader will never go grey so rapidly like Obama; even coming election wont be perturbing because s/he knows the result will be favourable courtesy of rigging and corrupt, irresponsible judges. |
Overland has only two planes - one is 25 years old, the other 19. For a long time it was d only airline serving lagos-ilorin-abuja route, until Arik's tuesdays, thurs and saturdays flights were introduced. If i hav a choice I will never travel on their molue plane again- noisy, hot and scary.Arik planes are I believe new. |
Fredrick909: guys i want you all to be watching your time. Australia is 12HOURS BEHIND US IN NIGERIA THEY ARE IN GMT+12 SO when we are inHeard a 7th Day guy quoting from Bible to show a day begins at sunset and ends at the next sunset, so christians marking commencement of New Year at 12pm Dec 31 are wrong/late. In Islam a day begins at break of dawn - no fixed time but in nigeria that will be around 5am . |
Dirty-minded folks are trying to twist the research finding. Squeezing the bosom is what they say, simple - the ladies can do the squeezing by themselves, no be so? |
Wishing our Great Leader the New Oloye, His Excellency Dr Senator Abiubakar Bukola $araki AKA AB$,Turaki Ilorin Happy 50th Birthday.may Almighty Allah continue to bless and enrich your life Sir.LL&P
What has this post got to do with this thread or are u wishing Bukola's private crash with him? |
Congrats, bro - but how times change, you prefer to be a bottler instead of a banker. |
It is turning into copy-cat game. News is splashed all over that 28 killed and some lunatic start thinking of how to beat that "record". Methinks that as long as the media keeps giving prominence to these dastardly acts of bestiality we shall sadly see more of it. |
k2039: 1914 AmalgamationOnly a mentally sick or mischievous person will blame the 1914 amalgamation for nigeria's current ills. Why didn't amalgamation stop the then Regions from making giant strides in development up to 1966 when the military cut short the visionary foresight of the Premiers. Are the slowpokes blaming the ongoing massive impoundment of public fund by politicians of all tribes and religions on amalgamation? It's obvious that the country cannot develop as long as a few people just continue to pocket public funds leaving virtually nothing for development. Blame not amalgamation but our thieving leaders for the country's travails. |
naffysa: They are not muslimsWhy? A muslim does not cease to be a muslim because he or she celebrate the death of any person. But we should not forget that Christians were seen all over kaduna jubilating when Yar'adua died. These people are not following the teaching of their religions because neither in Islam nor Christianity is such irresponsible conduct acceptable. Muslims or Christians or pagans should know that normal human beings mourn, not celebrate, the death of fellow human being. |
boladez: Wow!, this is an unseen before level of courage and boldness. Asari has hit the nail on the head. How many times are we going to hear the trash that"Gej is not a bad guy on his own but simply surrounded himself with bad people?" |
cyril83: here I come ,if you guyz don't want any insult, you shud have kept it cool in your muslim section...ban me and i sign in another,I have 7 handles specially created for a season like this...gbamWhy insults when no one has insulted you? If a topic is on front page you dont hav to read it. If u insult me for this u ar wasting ur time. |
for igbos: to show their achievement over the past year for yoruba: family re union i think for hausa ; they dont care cos they are |
Good move. The extra-judicial killing of Mohammed Yusuf by police has created the monster of Boko haram insurgency. The police has presently constituted can only cause more troubles for nigeria. |
Mandelaguy:As a student leader Labaran Maku chose to wear the same shirt day in day out to portray himself as a socialist who identified with the poor masses. He even led the students to protest over 2 kobo increase of petrol pump price by Babangida. He used to blast people he called bourgeoisie. The point is, he has now abandoned his erstwhile beloved masses and joined the bourgeoisie. If he now changes shirt every hour that's his choice after all he has made it Nigeria style, hasnt he?. |

Labaran Maku has been a good talker right from his days as students union leader at unijos in the 1980s. so no surprise about his performance as information minister. But the man has undergone personal transformation since his days as deputy governor in Nassarawa state. In his university days he wore only one or two shirts for year (ask anyone who was in unijos 1986-88), but he now wears expensive guinea brocade 3-piece agbada complete with 30k Borno cap. Surely, Labaran Maku is not a comrade anymore- How times change? |
Goldie20:Rose by whatever name called... This "Cowrolla" is serving the purpose for this rural folks who only need a simple, cheap means of transport. |
There is ONE religion without these silly superstitions. No need for name - we all know the truth even if we dont want to admit it. |
Because teachers especially those in govt schools have been neglect for a very long time, many people in nigeria dont even reckon teaching as a profession. As with any profession, to become a teacher properly so called u need to undergo long years of training. But today teaching has become a dumping ground and hiding place for lazy and brainless people. As for Corp members, some do put in their best but majority of them are no better them secondary school students in terms of knowledge, thanks to our failed tertiary education system. Worse still, most of them are not interested in teaching,so there is no commitment on their part to help the helpless students. However, mass failure in exams should not be blamed on corp members alone. The mass failures result mainly from the lackadaisical attitude of teachers to teaching and inadequate attention to education by govt. |
What stops others from developing something to render the soldier wearing this camouflage visible, like special goggles? Let USA stop instigating wars around the world rather than engage in an exercise of futility. |
