This is no news. The north east is swarming with Boko haram fighters and sympathizers and we'll hear more of this as long as d govt wants to use violence to end BH insurgency. Sadly, this is d truth, d whole truth & nothing but d truth.

Politicians everywhere ar big LIARS. They say anything during campaigns, like Obama is using his wife to do now. But once in office they renege on their word. Why are people easily carried away by rhetoric, lies and empty talk? Many of the posters on this thread ar gullible. Any campaign talk is hot air - check out GEJ's.

Politics › Re: 'Boko Haram Has An 'Operational Base' In Rivers' by mu2sa2: 8:09am On Sep 04, 2012
dj187: If boko haram attempts it in rivers all muslims will suffer bitterly, Rivers state is like no other state that has about 20 dreaded street secret cult groups scattered across d nook & crannies of the state & their leaders are the dreaded militant heads so boko haram should have a rethink before they endanger d life of innocent muslims
Thank u for telling the plain truth. With over 20 deadly cults as u hav confirmed, Rivers state is indeed the violence headquarters of Nigeria. Boko haram has nothing to do with d violence already bedeviling Rivers state, but somebody is trying to create a scapegoat. Soon one of the numerous cults will explode a bomb somewhere in d state (maybe at a church ) and brainwashed Riverians will invariably blame it on boko haram to justify a backlash against Hausas and muslims generally living in Rivers. All d signs that this is about to happen ar manifest-Asari Dokubo is been accused of financing Boko haram.
Politics › Re: 'Boko Haram Has An 'Operational Base' In Rivers' by mu2sa2:
Musa Otto has made a serious allegation against a group of people. These people hav been there practicing or worshiping whatever they ar practicing or worshiping openly and peacefully for years. D security forces should avoid a rash action. Being a Shi'ite is not unlawful; the constitution guarantees freedom of religion. As long as they ar not violent and do not propagate violence they should be allowed to be. Musa Otto can not force them to join his own group because he wants to be the leader of all muslims in Rivers state- the constitution guarantees freedom of association. Let us not forget that Boko Haram members were going about their activities peacefully from 2001 when d group was formed up till 2009, when police started attacking nd killing them for political reasons. Boko haram then transformed from a peaceful preaching and social welfare body to an insurgency group. D situation in Rivers state should be handled with care.It is d vogue nowadays to call any muslim u dont like boko haram to discredit him or justify murdering him or her. All d people advocating violence on NL ar myopic or even tribalistic ("they ar Hausa, kill them"wink. Today it may be Shi'ites in Rivers that ar being targeted for obvious personal reasons ,U advocating violence against other people may be the target of security forces' violence 2moro.
Nairaland General › Re: Policeman Shoots Soldier At Bonny Camp Gate by mu2sa2: 10:53am On Sep 02, 2012
Our policemen lack proper training & discipline; that is why they shoot people, even fellow policemen, indiscriminately. And d problem is compounded by d fact that there's nobody to correct d situation because the officers ar themselves unreliable. If u report an erring policeman to an officer, he feels unconcerned about it. Sometime ago I saw two policemen in uniform around 10 am heavily drunk and staggering down a busy street: nobody will bother to report them because their "brodas" may instead of taking disciplinary action on them fabricate an offence against u!!! Soldiers are a bit better. But SSS men are disciplined.

etunoman76: That's why I don't like commenting most times. We cant be tribalistic and expect this country to move forward as one entity.
U should not be too concerned about the use of language or choice of words on Nairaland because it's a large forum and u cant have uniformity in such situation. Some people ar rude, some semi-illiterate, abusive, loud-mouthed, improperly brought up, myopic, bigots, liars, cheats and so on - so expect the good, the bad,and the ugly on Nairaland. That's what makes it interesting.
Car Talk › Re: What Is The Average Life Span Of A Car? by mu2sa2: 5:32pm On Sep 01, 2012
U can drive a car for as long as u want. I saw a very neat Mercedes coupe sport in south Africa in 2007 and d owner said its 1971 (yes,1971)edition. D bottom line is maintenance.I bought my car 8 years ago with d mileometre reading 308,000 and i am still using d car, a 1997 mazda 626 - just done the engine for d second time. D car is still neat & superbly reliable with xcellent fuel economy; i can drive it anywhere.I cant imagine myself selling d car - that will amount to betrayal, because d car has never let me down; if am tired with it i will probably giv it to somebody or keep it as a trophy. In Cuba there are 1940s cars on the road.To me a car has no life span, because when u change a part u ar actually renewing d car and having changed so many things in d car u ar actually not driving d car u bought so many years ago. Mark u 40 year old airplanes ar still flying.

D disabled athletes from nigeria ar winning becos they trained hard and prepared well for d games. U will be surprised to hear the paltry amount budgeted for these disabled athletes doing us proud.

Plagiarism is common in academic circles all over the world. D only reason this is raising eyebrows is because of the numbers involved. If it were 2,4,10 or maybe a little more students that were involved we would probably not hv heard of it. But what is d fuss about when if u copy from one person it is plagiarism, but if u copy from ten it is called research.
Family › Re: Dealing With A Child's Destructive Behaviour? by mu2sa2: 7:17am On Aug 31, 2012
Your child is hyper intelligent and very inquisitive:he wants to explore the inside of d toys that is why he dismantles them.Any child with a high IQ will do the same. Pls dont beat him for any reason-violence does not correct,it hardens a child.D boy is not actually destroying d toys, but is trying to know more about them-early signs of an engineer. Madam, try buying cheap toys if cost is ur concern, but they ar less useful for an intelligent child. If I were u I would continue to get him complicated toys for him to test his imagination- that is money spent on his education, which is better than sendng him to a high-fees school that can not contain his imagination.

Olanifesi: Does anyone still need to pity those boko haram guys?
I myself is a muslim, the offender must not go without purnishement.(elese ko gbodo lo lai je iya ese re). Note: those people are non muslim.
ISLAM means PEACE!!
Ur knowledge of islam appear shallow. Real BH members ar muslims, but they are mistaken in their actions. This happens frequently in human affairs. E.g kidnappers, murderers, pen robbers nd d like may be muslims or christians - but they ar mistaken in their actions. It is very easy to fall into evil-which is why christians pray fervently every time for God to deliver them from evil and muslims pray all d time to Allah to guide them to d right path("ihdinas siratal mustaqim"wink. I think GEJ recognizes this and that is why he said BH members ar our brothers and sisters. If we think straight we will solve all our problems without resort to violence.
Politics › Re: JTF Torturing Alleged Boko-Haram Members? (Pic) by mu2sa2:
No human being or even animal should be subjected this kind of barbaric treatment. These guys may be innocent; infact it's unlikely that they will catch a suicide bomber easily. Seeing this picture, I Just imagine what BH members will do to any soldier sighted by them. D security forces can never subdue Bh this way.soldiers ar killing innocent people, r*ping women and looting in Maiduguri with reckless abandon that even respected eminent indigenes hv called for their withdrawal-because they ar more of a nuisance. As for those who will like to justify torture on d ground that BH members are ruthless, they should remember that two wrongs do not make a right.2day it's suspected BH members; these undisciplined soldiers can turn on u 2moro. If a suspect is apprehended he should be taken to court with d evidence. only a court should pronounce a person guilty. These drunken soldiers can not be d accuser, d judge and executioners at d same time. Recently in Maiduguri they wasted d life of a banker even though he was dressed in suit and pleading that he was a banker and going to work that morning.Uncountable innocent people hav been victims in d hands of Nigeria's undisciplined security forces that anyone who justifies the torture of suspects needs to see a psychiatrist immediately before it is too late.

D prayer strategy worked for OBJ. In his preparation for 2015, GEJ strategy is to continue to ask for prayer and soon naija "men of God" will declare him born again and God sent to take nigeria to the promised land. After collecting their share of the national cake, the men of God come 2015 will play ball and direct d gullible congregation to vote en-mass for GEJ who vision reveals as God chosen. GEJ is surely following d footsteps of Baba Iyabo, who mayb is his spiritual and political adviser/mentor.

Kobojunkie: This seems all he needs to say to appease the many "drunken" Christians in Nigeria . . . wait till they come in telling you that the man is definitely a Christian because he said to use prayer to overcome issues that he was given money to fix. grin
Obj used d same strategy with christians to d point that many regarded him as "born again" & "Godsend" and so infallible. Gej is preparing for 2015 and so he's transforming to born again & soon naija "men of God" will start saying he is Godsent as Obj was. These men of God can stoop to anything for a slice of d "national cake" from anyone in power. Armed/pen ro bbers, fraudsters, thieving politicians -all go to these men of God 4 prayer for success in their activities. This alone accounts 4 d mushrooming of "houses of God" & "prayer warriors".

Politics › Re: Bomb Blast Rocks Oko Prison In Benin: Boko Haram? by mu2sa2: 3:44pm On Aug 19, 2012
royal lord: Boko haram blast open oko prison in benin, the aim for this dastardly act has not been confirmed, as speculation has it that they intended to free members of their sect caught in other state and transfered to benin prison. Apart from their members escaping, members of notorious kidnapping group apprehended by the police, as well as notorious criminals are said to have escaped. Leaves the question' Nigeria- which way?'
It is now convenient to blame every act of terrorism on boko haram. Armed robberies, kidnappings and d like ar now d work of boko haram!!! Let's not forget that boko haram was formed in 2001 and up to 2009 was not involved in violence. They took up arms only when former Borno gov began using police to kill them. Although d violence has almost spiralled out of control, the Benin prison attack, like d recent church killings in okene, is not likely to be the work of boko haram.

ogbeche77:
bestads: Dear Nigerians, the reasons for mass failure of our teenagers in public exams are not far fetched.
1 FACEBOOK,YAHOO,TWITTER,MYSPACE and generally browsing on
the internet instead of reading their books
2 ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE and EUROPEAN FOOTBALL LEAGUES,
it is easy for an average nigerian teenager to know the tha names of all
chelsea players but same youths cannot tell you the square root 25 in mathematic. Worse still is that these days instead of seeing inscriptions
like UNIVERISTY or SCHOLARS on the exercise books, what you see are
pictures of paloma,Drogba,Beyonce,Omotola etc
3 DSTV,Home video and african movie magic, watching television and
films endlessly.European champions league,English
premiership,Barca,Blues,Chelsea,MANU etc 4 GSM and BLACKBERRY, the average nigerian teenager uses the latest
and expensive gsm phones just to show off that they belong, when they are
actually nothing.
5 GSM TEXT LANGUAGE, I will not be suprised to see students write
words like ur(for YOUR), 2moro( For tomorrow) in their EXAM sheets
6 QUEST FOR CHEAP FAME AND WEALTH, The goverment, electronic media(tv and radio) and companies have not been helpful at all.The
average nigerian youth especially the girls want to BE silver Birds most
beautiful Girl and get cheap money and fame(Nobody has remembered all
the previous miss world, but we still remember MOTHER THERESA),they
want to win IDOLS WEST AFRICA, they want to be in NOLLYWOOD, they
want to be TWO-FACE,they want to win maltina street dance ,they want to win starquest and GULDER ULTIMATE SEARCH
Warning is that wealth gotten by vanity shall DIMINISH.
7 The new craze of TALENT SHOWS: Suddenly The only talents our
youths now have are music, dancing, acting and stand up comedies, they
no longer have talents for maths, physics and entrepreneurism.
Check out the list:MTN PROJECT FAME,BIG BROTHER,STARQUEST,MALTINA DANCE
HALL,AMBO,GUILDER,IDOLS WEST AFRICA,PEAK TALENT HUNT
ETC…What a bad distraction
It is only COWBELL that sponsors national mathematics competition and
give scholarships to outstanding students in UME exams
8 EVER BUSY PARENTS, Parents are always in search for money, business and jobs, they live home 5am and come back 10pm
leaving their children to the care of house helps and teachers in private
schools. THEY have forgotten that out of the 24 hours in a day their
children will only spend 8am-2pm(6 hrs) in school and in hands of the
teachers the remaining 18hrs is spent in the home(wether sleep or not)
.these same ever busy parents can not look into the books of their teenagers, they don't monitor waht the teenagers watch nor who they
associate with.
9 WEAK GOVT POLICIES:The people in Govt see all these vanities on
tele and radio and they will not nip them in the bud, because they are naïve
and corrupt and so the rot continues
If you have a contrary view then post it on this forum.
Nothing more to add.

MacLovington: .

From you reply, you are very biased: I wonder if you can read or you are just too full of religious bigotry to reason properly.

You assume christians are majority in prison. Even in Kaduna, Kano, Dutse, Sokoto etc? Have you been in all those prisons?? Oh I know how people like you think " I don't have to go to prison to know". Bias, bigotry and prejudice are good enough.

You talk of Christian trachery, the policeman who killed Apo 6 in Abuja because the Ibo girl in the group turned him down, is he a southerner/christian?

Hausa muslim armed robbers have raided my relatives' house in the South TWICE, carting away goods and mercilessly beating them. The last time with active connivance of their Aboki gateman. YET I have never thought about generalising.

At least when my relative came back from prison as a muslim, we accepted and supported him. I guess some religion would have made him an outcast.
It seems in your tiny little world of bigotry, everyone else is a liar, only you can tell the truth. Shake head.
U did not answer d simple question: how was he forced to become a muslim in prison. He remained a muslim out of prison, right? So who forced him to remain a muslim after his imprisonment?

MacLovington: Oga ex-policeman,

as you can see, the police is possibly the most unpopular body in Nigeria. That means a lot in a country with corrupt political system, judiciary, immigration, customs, civil service, you name it.
It is by the grace of God that anybody would even read your story and offer any suggestion.

About 27 years ago, the police framed a relative of mine and he languished in prison for years. The actual criminal with a very long history was openly enjoying himself with girls and riding a new car he bought using money from the crime. He settled the police handsomely. The alleged crime attracted death penalty. This relative suffered so much that a good christian turned muslim in prison by force! He lost a child while in prison. He got acquittted after a long court trial (tens of adjournments included). He never recovered from that injustice. He's dead long ago.

The injustice you're shouting about is not comparable.
U r a liar. How is "a good christian" forced 2 bcom a muslim in a christian-dominated nigerian prison system. Worldwide many prisoners hv converted 2 islam because - one, they had time 2 study islam in detail & discovered 4 themselves d true religion of GOD; two, they could not believ d treachery of d fellows(christians) responsible 4 their plight. Islam is THE salvation 4 mankind. God guided ur relativ 2 d light of islam & he died a muslim. May God accept him into d ranks of those who earned his favour. May God also guide u and his other relatives to d Light of His religion:Whoever God guides is saved.
