May Allah increase in your knowledge; bless, support and reward you for the great effort, Abu-Safwan.

toneyb:
What are you saying here? How is the Koran the greatest book? What do you mean when you say that nobody has been able to produce a single chapter like that of the koran?
Re-read what I said for a better comprehension.

I re-iterate: nobody has been able to produce a single chapter like that of the Qur'an, for nobody can.
The Ordinary level Physics text book \i used in High school contains information about the forces of nature and how they function much much more that the koran can never and will ever contain. In fact how has the koran helped man in understanding science or how the forces of nature operate. Is  it not the same koran that says that meteorites are allah's spears thrown at demons who go to paradise to eavesdrop? Is that true?
You misunderstand the whole thing; I hence kinda feel unhappy or rather disappointed at that. Its quite below you, the real you I know. lol cheesy

But in essence, Qur'an is not a book of Science but Sign. . .get that? The Ordinary Physics text book you are talking of is but wholly a book of science. Therefore there is world of difference between what I was saying and that you are. Get that too?

Ability to understand things seems to be what you folks lack. I feel sorry for you at discovering that fact. May God save you.

Lets delve into business:

Nezan:
You mean mohammed's arabic was different from those of the other arabs who were following him?
The noble Qur'an is not prophet Muhammad's Arabic. Any way way who told you it is?

And you say, the luminous Arabic which Qur'an is written with is far different from those written and dialectical ones spoken by other Arabs following him then, now and forever. Thats why when non-Muslims during his lifetime were accusing him of writing the glorious Qur'an by himself, his being unlettered notwithstanding, the Owner of the book challenge them to produce a single chapter like chapters of the Qur'an. Ever since the
Qur’an was revealed, fourteen centuries ago, until this day, no one has been able to meet this challenge, even though the smallest chapter in the Qur’an (Chapter 108) is only ten words.

you also mean that it now takes science to understand arabic when koran contradicts science in regards to the shape of the earth?
Sincerely speaking Nezan, you sound obtuse. For how long would this be explained before you fathom it?

O! I forget what I stated above: understanding remains something you are handicapped of. Too bad.

you people are just funny
Christians are the funniest people I ever know living on this planet. Wallahi I always wonder where your intelligence go. . .what a dogma! Jesus. . . .God the Father. . .Holy Spirit/Ghost. . . original sin. . .etc

you claim koran was a miracle but today even you muslims wont understand it without science? ,
Who? I supposed you mean you.

Get loads to say here but no time o!  cheesy

what a delusion!
Really? This is left to readers to decide, I think.
ABUZOLA CAN BE DEFEATED BUT QUR’AN NEVER DEFEATED

You all misconceived the concept of the Qur’an and Abuzola was unable to convince. Now the basic principle is that Qur’an verses that has to do with scientific fact their meaning could not be obtained from earlier Islamic scholars sources. Dr. Maurice Buccaile has this to say: “For many centuries, humankind was unable to study certain data contained in the verses of the Qur’an because they did not possess sufficient scientific means. It is only today that numerous verses of the Qur’an dealing with natural phenomena have become comprehensible”. To me, though I am not Arabic expert, I think there should be a difference between ‘Tahaha’ and ‘Dahaha’. But many Islamic translator have the both word equated in meaning due to lack of scientific expertise in their time. But today with the help of science the meaninig of ‘Dahaha’ has become a crystal clear. In Qur’an 91:6 Allah the Almighty says: “By the earth and its (wide) expanse”. And in 79:30: according Al-maududi the translation is “And the earth moreover, hath He extended (to a wide expanse)”. You can see here maududi equated the meaning of two different word. May God reward him abundantly for his Ijtihad. But, in reality the Qur’an does not mean that; Qur’an cannot say wrong but the translators can say it due to one limitation or the other. That is why analysts are saying the most difficult text to translate is the Qur’an. Today the most acceptable interpretation of this verse with the coming of science is that of Rashad Khalifa despite of his apostasy. Rashad further mentioned that: “the Arabic word “dahhaahaa” is derived from “Dahhyah” which means ‘Egg’. Now the meaning shall be “And the earth thereafter (He made) it sphere” Allah is the best knower. In all case Qur’an does not mean the earth is flat. Qur’an is the only divine book accepted by scientists. Dr. Maurice Buccaile emphasized that: “There is no human work in existence that contains statements as far beyond the level of knowledge of its time as the Qur’ an. Scientific opinions comparable to those in the Qur’an are the result of modern knowledge………… the Qur’an is undoubtedly a revelation from God”. With this piece I assisted Abuzola to fulfill his task of defeating our opponents!!!! Thanks Abuzola, a great deal.
Very, very good. I wholly subscribe to this great post.

And let the nonentities continue with their ignorance parading. . .

The whole encounter reminds me of one saying: we are afraid of what we don't know. Whoever knows Christian aboard NL knows they do know NOTHING about Islam comparing what Muslims know about their "religion". Thats why they care less to say all craps that pop-up their minds when posting. . .or at best copy and paste remain their forte.

I don't care to respond to folks like Mazaje, for they'll, very likely, never understand a thing.

And questions are asked in order to get things explained, but that is phenomenally not why that guy and his cohorts ask question concerning Islam and Muslims but to purposely belittle and ridicule the religion.

The chapter is closed. cheesy

Why?
You are being too opinionated, Osisi. For a single example I admit am the only active member aboard NL who's Hausa and from this very region, i.e. North. Thus the idea of taking NL as microcosm or whatsoever to calculate the number of Muslim there are in Nigeria sound very novice and hight unintelligent to every able-thinking person. Hence whats the point of wasting invaluable time "debating" with you? There is of course none.

0hsisi:
The source is from the leaders in Nigeria and so it was Islamic. The leader was and is still Islamic .
How did you come to this conclusion?

If that sort of research is to be carried-out, leaders only come to picture in one way; and thats during asking their permission.

All these facts aside, I can't think media like CNN, BBC and the likes would have valued that count in truly the real source is from the leaders. And no unbiased person could. . .only you folks. lol! grin

The Obasanjo's census did not have religion as one of the criteria to be checked off ,go and do your research.Northerners have been known to falsify figures in Nigeria to their advantage so I guess they pulled the statistics out of a plate of gworro.
In the  census the northerners consistently refuse to be counted and would make up a figure for the enumerators since their wives  and females are hidden behind walls.
Really?

I can't believe you know a thing about the PRESENT northern Nigeria, woman.

Let me tell ya, woman, I was part of that exercise. I swore to my Creator this is a blatant lie. I, for example, added not a single person. May God punish me if I am telling lie. And may He punish you if you think I am telling lie. . .agreed?   cheesy

Figures in Nigeria cannot be trusted, common sense would tell us what the truth is.
I wonder how many mouth have you? You said this and that, for e.g. above. You obviously contradict yourself.

How many Muslims are on this forum when compared to Christians?
This is regarded by the general populace here in the north as Yorubas place. And that could be easily deduced if you ask yourself how many other tribes are in here compared to Yorubas.

More-over, I can boast saying am the only active Hausa man aboard NL because of the above impression held by our ppl.

Are you claiming then that Christians are more advanced that Muslims in Nigeria ?
Why would 50% of Nigerians be Muslims yet those on the internet are perhaps only 20% Muslim?
Are the Christians stopping your internet connections?
Please come with a better argument.
You are far less in number, that is the real reason.
In this regard you are; thats a bitter truth to me. Why or rather how? Western education has been in your region for nearly a century before "it" set foot on Northern part of Nigeria. Furthermore, this type of education was, and is still, being frowned at by many people.

But thanks to Allah as our ppl are not illiterate--taking the definition of literacy, for their are innumerable number of those who detest Western education who can read and write Arabic alphabet + memorization of Qur'an, Hadeeth and other Islamic books. Their problem is english. lol! grin

It is common knowledge that uncountable Muslims have since left Islam especially in Yorubaland.
The dan fodio figures you guys give about Yoruba Muslims being 65% are so outdated,I think it's in the 70's.
Bishop Samuel Ajayi Crowther who was Muslim must have known this fact too
Pure propaganda. I laughed at it.

na lie
na true, an incontestable one even.

That speaks volumes
and these churches are packed full every Sunday?
where are the Muslim faithfuls worshipping if you want to discountenance number of churches?
The largest places of worship in Nigeria are Churches and the pews are not occupied by satchets of pure water.
What of mosques? Every single mosque is always littered with people on every Friday. . .come see yourself, woman.
You folks living in the West have a vague pic of Nija, wallahi. Had you a clear one you would not have that ignorantly said this.

I have stayed in various parts of northern Nigeria.
The Muslim population is so overated.
And I am staying in the North; whose words are to be trusted? Wonder o!
For instance, whenever Southern/Western Nigerian issue is discussed on this board, I usually stay faithfully mute, for I know little about the going-ons there. But u. . . huh

what questions
Even my grade schooler would have answered those.
Read my earlier post again and ponder on the figures.
Why would every Nigerian you meet outside of Nigeria be most likely a Christian by an 80% chance and yet Muslims make up 50% of Nigeria
Does that make a bit of sense to you?
The true number of Muslims is most likely 30-40% ,politics aside and I'm being very generous.
I can only think of one only source as your source, i.e. NL. You too admit you take it as the microcosm of Nigeria. Childish it sounds.

And every sane person could fathom it and differentiate whose figure is to be considered serious? You, who take NL as your source; and they who conducted a physical round exercise?

Please get more serious things to say.
I trust Guillaume Dasquie, the co-author of “Bn Laden: The Forbidden Truth” when he said in an interview: “9-11 was not just a mad act, it was a political act meant to create a good ground for a big war in all Central Asia. I trust david duke when he said: "Bush says we must strike down terrorists wherever they are in the whole world, but he has shared tea and crumpets with Israeli Prime Minister, Ariel Sharon, one of the world’s leading most brutal and bloodthirsty terrorists. Sharon committed a number of crimes against humanity, among them the massacre of 2,000 men, women and children in the Sabra and Shatila refugee camps in Lebanon. Mr. Bush did not strike Mr. Sharon, instead he toasted him."
Absolutely true. I wholly subscribed to that undeniable truth.

Had you invited your grade schooler, he might have done better than that.

If you, focus123, could do more than copy and paste, your postings would have been making sense. But that you are doing spam the whole board, wallahi. I kinda start getting tired and irritated, which I believe is your prime aim.

Understand? Don't just depend on what some bunch of fools say about Islam. You can't just denounce anything Islamic by relying on copying things from anti-Islamic sites. If I were you and want to dent Islam, I'll be digging things much dipper and in more sensible way than the very way you are doing.

Please get back to common sense. Thanks
