One should learn one or two things from something that was made up?Typical. You may as well learn one or two things from believing you were in a 5year old while actually being a full grown adult.
I guess you have not read a fictitious novel or watched educative and entertaining fictitious films? Or you think they are all real? Even titanic that is common, though it really happened but who told you they didn't add some things to make it more captivating. "In a 5 year old" indeed. Everything na fight for una.

Why on earth would she spend her money on you, a boyfriend. She can only spend for her husband and kids or support you during wedding NOT Traditional marriage. In Africa it's the man's pride to pay for the wife's dowry, not vice-versa. Even we the married men, do not rely on our wife's money, cos you may be disappointed. Always try to call the shots as the man. Don't even act as if you are aware of her cash, but be Judicious in spending your money. My father once admonished me that money spent on a lady you are not married to, is like spending money on a prostitute. I understood better after training a girl for five years in the University with my meagre 25k salary and on graduation she opted for another man with a salary of 400k as contract staff in an oil firm, not minding if he was someone else's husband. If you can avoid them and face your future, better. Be guided!
People are heartless. I can relate very well. Humanbeings, both male and female are terribly irredeemable. Sorry for your loss. May God you a better woman.

Just doesn't make sense.
Why would she give him her ATM to withdraw money for her and ₦80k at that, when a POS may even be just facing her from her house, market or workplace.
Fake stories litter nland these days.
Yes the story might be fake but what i do is to assume its real, learn one or two from the story and move.

That beats my imagination too. However, the high cost of rent in that axis is justifiable because the lands are mostly sandfilled. It costs a lot of money to develop properties on that axis.
The irony in the whole thing is, they develope properties expensively, why not do the drainage at once? Its of no use to spend a huge sum of money on rent or ownership but keep waking on the sea like in the bible. Its crazy and weird

Hahahaha

My dear you are right but if you understand what this doctor od trying to say ...

Once a woman crosses 30 the fertility chancces start to drop , then from 35 the drop rate rovals that of a 50 ton metal ball dropped off a cliff .

Even with modern alternative fertility tecnics available it's alwaays harder and chances of success slimer in a woman 33 -/35 upwards , it's way slimmer.

These moderen fertility tecnics work best when the woman is between 20 - 30 with a high success rate these are facts all medical practioners know, off course in Nigeria they won't tell the couple just so they can waste their money at the fertility center.

Hence it's best for mody men to steet cleat of unmarried over 30 women to avoid stories that touch
After 35, fertility drops? Its in the books. People that are above that are still 100% fertile. Its not for everyone. People are still fertile even after 40. Science says its better from early twenties, but life happens and many do not achieve it then. So they should give up? Older women can give birth to healthy kids after 40. One ignoramus said all women that gave birth after 35 ALL gave birth to autistic children. Theres higher chances but younger women also give birth to autistic children. Theres even higher chances of birthing twins in older moms

Exactly what i thought. Dude was just talking and talking. If it worked for him, good and fine. I said to myself, the battle is not for the swift. Anything can happen tomorrow. Its not people's wish to get married early or late. The resources and life happen. Abeg jare. This is what mis leads people and make them start feeling like losers and also pressurised

That is the black man mentality, not moving with trend. Not thinking ahead before taking decisions.
Most who say 3,4 or more kids are barely making 500k per month. I guess the black man is used to suffering.
FYI, the world need lesser and lesser humans to run it.
Machines and softwares are been used to carry out tasks effectively that hundred of humans won't be able to do.

Before, it takes hundreds of people to farm the foods we eat per hectare but now a tractor been run by one person can clear 5 to 10 hectares in 8 hours.
It takes many people to work in the bank - depositing and paying out but ATM replaced a lot of people and working more effectively 24hrs round the clock without regularly crying for salary increment nor engaged in shady deals/theft.
I can give more and more examples but it's okay.
I enrolled my kids in monthly education insurance that am paying 20k per kid so that incase of untimely death (God forbid and i don't pray for that), they can effectively finish their education without feeling the impact of a dad loss.
I did family yearly health insurance of 120k so that we can walk effectively into most hospitals and get treated.
Please tell me, if i have more kids, won't it put more strain on my life and plans? people just born anyhow without any plans for the kids or themselves.
Life is to be enjoyed and not hustling hustling and hustling for family and look haggard and worn out.
I see a lot of junior staff and colleagues working with me with many kids, always afraid to go home, always asking for extension and working overtime for a thing they could have easily avoided by effective planning.
Good points. If i may ask, how many kids do you have?

Why Nairalander always ask this kind of questions without giving more details.
Let me start with.
What is his passion
What is his hobby
What is his skills
What is his experience
Then we can pick from the universal subset to direct him which business to go for.
What of if I tell you go and buy 6 Keke and put for challenge to odina or ojoba. And be making 18,000 daily
What of if I tell you to buy 3micra and use as taxi and be making 12kdaily
What if I tell you to buy India tractor and hire out at 10k everyday
What of I tell him to open mini bakery and sell every evening at orita
What of using just 1.5 million to open pig farm and the 10 Gilt gave birth to 5 each you have 50 x 3 = 150 piglet in a year. Note some pig give birth to 14 at once. What of if I tell him to put 3mlm into a bank account that pays 5% monthly in Nigeria.
What of if he bought 50 wheel barrow and make 50 uniform and hire it out daily and make 10,000 daily.
What getting a water tanker more biz during g dry season.
You can ask me more
Which bank pays 5% monthly?

As expected.

Once you move to US as a Catholic or Anglican, chances are high that you will abandon them when you start reading American history especially the part that yielded the separation of the church from the state. It is an eye-opener not the brainwashing that goes on in Nigeria. The moment you start getting in touch with your inner spirituality marks the beginning of your freedom from mental slavery called religion. Some people erroneously tag it atheism. The best approach is always to excuse their ignorance.

You're right that sexism is still prevalent in the church and the woman is still being treated by church leaders and Christians as the cause of man's downfall despite that Jesus had redeemed her from the curse of her sin. So that's not in question.

However in your own case, it's a matter of the curse of knowledge and fame etc., which is pride but the end thereof is destruction.

I hope God humbles you and makes you go through things that would make you realize how far you've strayed from the Truth so you can retrace your footsteps.

God bless.
What if you were the one deprived of burial just because of money, will you be able to go to that church with your whole heart? Or is treating someone like a second class citizen now a norm? Christianity is whole, not in part. Abeg

Remember what Jesus did to the woman at the well? Who are we then to segregate?

Hello mamas goodmorning to you all
Una do well for me oo thanks to all that responded with prayers, links and extract from articles that explained the condition clearly. You all helped in calming the tension in me and asking constructive questions when they were evaluating her yesterday

So the paed we saw said the vagina closure is as a result of vagina inflammation and that droplets of urine, excessive sweating down there and even certain diapers can cause it. And that the area must have been red like a sore and decided to heal and close up because at her age she doesn't have the hormone(estrogen) that is supposed to keep the place naturally lubricated to avoid gumming together.

So he recommended a topical estrogen cream to help her produce the homone and we are to apply it for 2 weeks and that it will lubricate and release the muscles around the site and open the vjay up.

But the only thing is she may start menstruating earlier than her age mates because she's been exposed to puberty hormones at a very tender age. I feel I have failed my girl as a mother. I've been praying for her and asking God for forgiveness

Our next appointment is in 2 weeks time. He said he will only do a minor surgery on the site only if the estrogen cream didn't have any impact after usage but usually there's very high positive result with the cream

Fingers seriously crossed as I'm prayerfully applying the cream, trusting God Almighty to take charge

From now on I'll be checking their vjay everyweek I feel terrible

Godbless you all for standing in the gap for me kiss

Perhaps I joined this thread late but better late than never.

First, here's a brief history of my life in Naija before I moved.

The highest salary I had ever earned was 60k. That's less than 150 USD for more than 200 hours job. Even that 60k sef, I chop am only 3 times before I comot.

In 2014, when I decided to leave, I was looking at the big countries but because I couldn't afford it, I spent another 4-5 years trying various scholarships.

2019, I got tired and decided to lower my "standards". Go for a small country and work my way up. Little did I know it was a blessing in disguise.

After much research, in February 2020, I left for Vietnam to teach English. I knew from research, the least amount I could get paid was 800USD per month per 100 hours. I laughed as I had seen worse in Naija. I even got a job for 900 USD before I left but I rejected it when I got here. (There's a detailed thread of my journey to Vietnam on Nairaland)

Long story short, I got here, Vietnam surpassed my expectations and I've been climbing higher and higher since then. Go check out my thread for more info.

Now due to Covid and all, after being here for a year and 6 months and working fully for only about 8/9 months, I started thinking of moving to Canada which was my plan initially. Start small, save up, move.

Back to the drawing board....I knew moving, I had to have a very good degree that is highly sort after or a skill to survive the bills and all. The only other option was to go back to school.

I started checking out schools and fees and even though I now had enough to pay for my studies, I had to think of what NEXT after studies, the income to savings ratio and also ask myself what the other advantages are THEN compare with what I have now.

Well, I have decided to stay back here in Vietnam until for any unforeseen reasons, I decide it's time to move cos I'm wayyy more than comfortable here. Cos of living is mega cheap the highest thing I spend on is rent and my current fully furnished to the teeth one bedroom apartment is not up to 250 USD

Now before you comment about Vietnam being a poor country and all that, don't let your ignorance get the best of you. Google. Then ask yourself why even though Naija is bad, there are foreigners who are living comfortably there buying every single thing in supermarkets et all. They earn wayyyy higher than the local. It's the same story here.

So NO, I don't regret moving. It's been one year and some and I don't even miss or dream of going back to visit.

Modified: Oh and let me add...the first three months wasn't rosy.

Two weeks after I came in, total lockdown started. We were indoors for 3 months. Survived on my BTA, landlady reduced rent for me, then back up from home.

It wasn't funny. Immediately after the lockdown, things changed
Another thing that gave u an edge is coming alone. I dont see what a single person should be complaining about when u travel. Honestly, u are more at an advantage when u travel out. So u have to think about it. Settle first then u think about bringing ur family. Bottom line is, its good to do this abroad thing when u are younger but its all good even if u are not. My one cent

As a black man in a black nation, how safe are you?

Of the 1,126 Americans killed by the police in the US in 2020, 122 were African-Americans. The rest were whites, Asians, Latinos, Native Americans, etc.

Now, how many Nigerians are killed by the Nigerian police every year? How many Nigerians are killed by cultists, armed robbers, bandits, ritual killers etc? More Nigerians are killed in this country than we think. Some people just vanish into thin air and no investigation is carried out to ascertain what happened to them.

The reason why we are aware that blacks are killed in the US is because the killings are often reported, unlike in Nigeria.

There are 500,000 - 3,000,000 Nigerians in America. When was the last time you heard that a Nigerian was shot in America by the police?

I put it to you that you are safer in America than you are in your own country.

If you are unjustly killed in America, people will protest and demand that your killers be brought to book. If you are unjustly killed in Nigeria, you'll be forgotten in a twinkling of an eye, and if your family decides to fight for justice, the Nigerian police will make sure they milk them dry.

I recently lost my sister and we suspect that she was murdered. The autopsy was done in a different state, we had to pay the policemen's transport fare, lodge them in a hotel and fed them, as well as, gave them money when they were going back. Everything is about money. The more money you are willing to spend, the more fuel you add to the NPF's willingness to investigate a case that matters to you.

You can't compare Nigeria to the US.
Pls louder so that they can hear you from the back! Comparing abakiliki rice and foreign rice.
