grandstar: This is why many new governments refuse to finish the work of their predecessors- they want what will bring the praise only and not their predecessors.
Ambode abandoned out of bitterness the Lagos monorail and Lagos-Badagry road. Yes o and see the pain the abandonment of that great project is causing now. It is sooo sad. And the Lagos state house of Assembly didn't see anything wrong in that! |

Samtobh: Driving on Badagry road is like travelling in a war zone.
To say the the road has become a national embarrassment will be an understatement.
Had to execute some rural electrification projects around Badary-Seme axis and couldn't drive 1km. The whole stretch to Seme Border is a death trap.
Since 2018 that the contract was awarded and abandoned, I can see little changes this year, gone through the road a few times and sure work is ongoing. The question is, how many years will it take the government to fix a road of 62km , (mile 2 to seme border)?
It is well The real question to ask is why the road was abandoned during Ambrose's Administration. The Railway network from Marina to Okokomaiko would have been functioning now and what a relief that could have been to the people living in that axis and to Lagos state generally. What I also don't understand is why the Lagos State House of Assembly did not raise any objection to the abandonment of the project at that time. The Lagos Badagry road, especially from Agbara to Badagry is an embarrassment to Nigeria! |

Did Jonathan defeat Boko Haram? Have you forgotten the kind of looting that happened during that same Jonathan period? The Jonathan Administration laid the very SAD foundation for whatever we are suffering now by squandering the resources that should have been saved when Oil prices were high. ThisAdministration met an Empty purse and to worsen the matter, Oil prices fell to an all time low. Buhari Administration may not be the best but he cannot be blamed entirely for whatever we are going through now! |

micflo28: Guys, I am a staff of FRSC and I can say that we need an armed squad, though not to stand on the road but to sit in the patrol van and watch to protect our patrol men and women from mob attacks. If I show you guys gorry pictures of our personnel's knocked down and killed and mobs attack our men. We even record cases of our men being killed by get away armed robbers. If not the way Nigeria is I would have left the job for something better. Last time an orderly to a politician shot our men for simply standing by the side of the road. We are parents too and need protection too. We are constantly harassed simply because we are accused of taking bribe. Is that enough reason to take our lives. On the brighter side, we can assist the police to fight highway robbery. The police is currently overwhelmed. With sufficient training we will be better than the police in the use of arms. That is because your Men don't face their real jobs. What concerns you with stopping vehicles to ask for particulars? You are to remove impediments to safe driving on the roads and not become an impediment. Most states have some form of traffic control officers like LASTMA in Lagos in addition to traffic Police. Your job should be on the interstate roads like the Lagos-Ibadan Express road to ensure accident free driving for travelers and assist accident victims! |

enny09: FRSC are even worse than police on the road without Guns cos even with your vehicle papers ok once they collect your driver's licence they will be looking for other excuses like your plate number, tyres and other nonsense just to collect money, I use to respect them before but lately they are very useless set of people. The question is - Should the FRSC be doing the VIO's job? Are they not supposed to be on the highways to prevent accidents and assist accident victims. Why are they stopping motorists to check vehicle particulars. That is not their job! |
Politics › Re: FRSC To Carry Guns – House Of Representatives by murmee: 8:02pm On Nov 06, 2020 |
GamalNasser: A group created to reduce death from road accidents will now start carrying Arms to to kill traffic offenders ? Does this even make sense ? It surely doesn't make any sense. Sometimes one really wonder if the National house of Representatives are actually for the people they represent. Imagine a motorist having to face several arms bearing road officers everywhere. The House should first of all question the real purpose of FRSC on Nigerian roads. They are supposed to ensure safety for motorists and not become a terror. Nigerians should be able to drive without being terrified. Driving is supposed to be a pleasure. The house of Representatives should reconsider this move. |

Winneygirl: Lagos is no-mans land. A lot of people travel alone from far away states to hustle in Lagos. Their family members do not live with them and maybe they only talk once in a while on the phone. It will be a long time before some family know that their loved one died, and some will say that their loved one went missing... forever. They'll never know. That means the Soldiers gun bullets were programmed to kill only those types of people. Please find something else to say! |

capitalzero: Most people here do not use twitter. The evidences are too much for military cover. Some classified videos will be protected and you will not see it online. Some people are in lagos without families. They live with friends. Some left villages for greener pastures in lagos. Some are orphans and homeless. If these ones joined protests and they were killed it would be very difficult for families to even know what has happened to them. The truth is that many people were killed , military is just trying to minimise casualties to avoid another outrage. Which means the bullets were selecting Protesters who were orphans and homeless and have no families and friends. O ga o! |

Buhari is not living in Lagos.
Between covid 19 lock down and looting spree/ Endsars lock down and looting spree
I think Lagos has sacrificed enough for National interest for now.
Thanks. Exactly my thoughts. Those Peaceful Protesters should have occupied the National Assembly in Abuja to meet with and engage the Representatives of Nigerians. Everything they were demanding were things only Abuja could do. The problem with Nigeria is that the the National Assembly is very docile. The Representatives are selfish and nothing concerns them about the plights of the ordinary people of Nigeria. So next time, the Protests should shift to Abuja and not Lagos. |

DontBullshitMe: According to this video, she (DJ Switch) claimed that the Nigerian soldiers SHOT to kill. They aimed directly at the protesters.
As at when the battery of her phone died, 15 people had been killed.
The survivors (her included) carried the 15 corpse to the feet of the murderers soldiers to show them the damage they had done.
The soldiers took all the bodies to their van. That means those dead bodies did not have parents, siblings or relatives because by now those relatives would have been looking for them with their photos! |

Please let all Yoruba people in all the Southwest States of Nigeria ask these Governors why the OPC is longer alive. Ask them why the talk of setting up Amotekun that sent jitters to Abuja and the whole North suddenly filtered out. It is at turbulent times like this that you would realize that you need a local Battalion. What happened was that while the EndSars Protesters were prolonging their occupation at Lekki Toll gate and Alausa, there was a grand plan going on OUTSIDE Lagos for the destruction of Lagos that we are witnessing now. Believe me, it didn't just happen. My Personal observation is that the Governor of Lagos state is too soft. By Monday, people will want to go back to their normal daily activities and businesses. Before that day, if the Governor doesn't find the courage to tell the so called Peaceful Protesters to end the protests or face severe consequences, the destructions will not stop because the Vandals will continue to take advantage of the Endsars protests. Enough should be enough! |
