Maleeq: Leave the bad roads. Most accidents in this part of the world (Nigeria) is due to excessive speeds and reckless driving. Bad roads would curb the zeal to speed! My dear, bad roads contribute a lot to motor accidents. You are forgetting that people drive at night in a country that has no street lights. How easy is it to navigate a road with pot holes and gullies at night? How easy is it to navigate a road during raining season with the pot holes and gullies covered with water? Besides, with the kind of traffic congestions on our roads, where exactly can one over speed and at what time? |

What is most crucial is that the Minister should mandate the Discos to provide Prepaid meters to all Electricity Consumers. We cannot continue to bear double punishment of not having light and being made to pay for darkness. Nigeria is about the only country in the world where estimated bills are given to consumers.
Even when the consumer is out of his house for more than three months and nobody is using his light, an estimated bill will be waiting for him on his return. This must not continue. Nigerians are saying NO to Estimated billing. No more excuses! |

OldBeer: Some mörons will never be able to comprehend what the American people are doing.
They will see this as a time waste but if you check the history of America, you will know that the country got to where it is today because of its marches.
Women got the right to vote, Blacks got the right to be treated equally, and the use of nuclear weapons were stopped because of marches like this.
Americans are not like some daft people in one backwards continent who will prefer to sit in their house and call on God to fight their poverty-stricken battles.
It is because of sacrifices like this, that is why it is possible for people like you to go over there with your backwards mentality and enjoy the same rights they do.
Most of you will kill yourself to enter there. Yet you will come online to talk rubbish about people who want a better society for themselves.
They know it is not possible for trump to leave, but with this march, they are telling their leaders that you may be in power but the people still have the power over you.
But I doubt the average Nigerian will understand, we are too busy begging baba God to pick up our call. God bless you. You have said it all and there's nothing more to add! |

kayo80: I don't know why people keep saying Ibadan is very cheap. I moved to ibadan last year because of all this talk. Yea it is slightly cheaper than Lagos, but when you realize that that some things like electronics, phones, and some other house hold equipments are more expensive here (when compared to lagos), then you start to wonder if it is really worth it. Accommodation is the only thing that is slightly cheaper here. And land is not as cheap as OP claims it is. Plot of land sells for over a million here, unless you want to go and buy land in the forest. Don't be fooled... Ibadan is not as cheap as people make it out to be. You are right. My cousin sold a standard plot of land in (inner) Oluyole Estate in October of 2016 for 12 million Naira. A 3 bedroom flat (not fantastic) in the same estate goes for at least N500K per annum. Transportation is slightly better than Lagos but not as efficient. |

My sister called me this morning to tell me the very sad news of a female church member who was a lead singer in the choir of CAC, Oke Imole, in Ibadan. She is survived by her husband and a 6 year old daughter.
After offering my condolences, I told her that my major worry is that the deceased's husband will soon remarry and the little girl will be subjected to all kinds of ill treatment by the step mother.
I had not even read the OP's post when I made that comment. It is so very sad. |

Wanice: does that justify his words and actions in that video? He was full of pride oga. Stop supporting what's bad. What is actually bad is students talking (very rudely) back at a Constituted Authority. The Governor respected them enough to have even made the time to address them. All that was required of the students was to hear him out and ask questions later. The behaviour of those young people make me doubt if they are real students. It was more like a collection of Vagabonds! If they are tired of staying at home, they would have behaved better. Would any secondary school student disrespect his Principal and not face serious discipline? Let alone the Governor of a state! |

Abujaexpress: If consumers bypass prepaid meter, it is the Discos's fault. What stopped them from deploying a more robust technology to check mate meter bypassing? Thank you. If they begin to punish those bypassing electricity, the system will work. But they need to provide more meters to people and then focus on checkmating offenders. The truth of the matter is that the Discos know they won't supply light so they don't like to install meters. With estimated bills, people are forced to pay whether they use light or not. Nigerians should reject estimated bills and say No Prepaid meter, No payment! Simple. |

You can discuss intelligently without provoking others. What exactly is wrong with what Jokerman posted? Is Nigeria a muslim country? So why are you provoked? I live in Ajao Estate, along Airport road and to use Airtel to make or receive a call, you have to go round all the windows in your apartment to see where the signal is good. As for data, Airtel and Glo are very weak. Only Etisalat, MTN and WiFi networks (Smile, Spectranet, Swift etc) are very good in this area. I went to see a cousin in OPIC, Agbara and I was surprised to see that even inside toilet, the Signal of.Airtel is always full. |

psalmsjob: Tell them o, all these "my pastor said" Christians. "Googlwe" the Bible yourself and see if you will find the word Christmas or any allusion to it being celebrated.
But I come to realize that telling most not to celebrate this Christmas thing as as Christian doctrine is like denying them the opportunity to eat rice and chicken or more offerings to church account. For your information, according to the Bible, the birth of Jesus was celebrated. Open the Bible to Luke chapter 2 and read from verse 8 to 14. I want you to take particular note of verses 13 and 14. If that is not celebration, please tell me what it is. Now go to Matthew, chapter 2 and take particular note of verse 11. We all know that it is when a person is celebrated that gifts are presented to such person. Whether or not you want to acknowledge it, Jesus is supreme and worthy of celebration at Christmas and at all times! |
