Ijaya123: I bet you're referring to GEJ. Because only the wicked could preside over the flagrant looting and sharing of Nigeria treasury like he did.
Very unfortunately, the South East does not see things in that light and they even try to defend the looting. They don't even want to know that it was the massive looting during Jonathan's time that has brought Nigeria to this sorry state. In any case, anything that brings money is business in Ibo land. Treasury looting, Drug pushing, armed robbery, ritual killing, smuggling, 419 and Yahoo Yahoo all na business.
Alexis11: This man want some people to commit suicide with this comment
But on a lighter note,
If somebody is being talked about by every successive government since 1999 and people can't wait to hear about him (either for good or bad). And some haters are saying he's not a great man.....
Realman87: There will be NO such alliance. The SS/SE will Never allign with the SW. Never again. The SW is alone in this battle and they will be eternally destroyed by the north. Mark my words....
And Mark my words, until the SW and the SE conquer the demon that is making them not to unite, so will the born to rule people continue to oppress and relegate the two most educated regions backwards. Again, mark my words!!!
Smart78: I believe the shabby treatment being metted out to Tinubu should be condemned by all men of good concience... Thats . ALL!
Much as I would agree with you, I would still blame the Asiwaju for not looking back and learning from history. He saw first hand how Abiola was treated and Asiwaju was already an adult when Awolowo went through all kinds of humiliation. When you dine with the devil, you should do so with a very long spoon. He believed so much in the accord he reached with Buhari but he failed to realize that the Northerners will hijack the president as soon as he gets to power and all agreements will be buried.
This is a big lesson for all the leaders in the South. Their one and major concern NOW should be how to get Nigeria restructured and move their people forward.
AfroKnight: Thankfully women are free from such a backward custom. To think some people would still try to cheat their sisters in this present age!
The backwardness and discrimination against women in Iboland is so amazing. One Ibo man who has only one child and the child is a girl told me that when he dies, his daughter cannot even inherit any of his property. It is so sad. To say the Yorubas are very advanced in all aspects of life, is an understatement. Since time immemorial, properties are divided EQUALLY among all children of the deceased, irrespective of gender or age in Yoruba land. Education is also a right for All children in Yoruba land. Am proudly Yoruba.
kenonze: Senseless NLC will truncate the process. But they want recession to end
The government should call the bluff of NLC. There can be only one captain in a boat. The NLC, NUPENG and PENGASSAN are against anything that will checkmate corruption because they are benefiting from it. They always pretend to be fighting for the common man whereas they are protecting their own selfish interests.
histemple: We must rise up and stop the imposition of stupid and nonexistent laws on Nigerians. Who told FRSC that the expiry data of car tyres in 4years?
r There are measures to determine if a tyre is expired or not fit again for uousage on the road.
A tyre fixed to a commercial vehicle that plies Portharcourt to Abuja daily shouldn't be given the same expiry date with that of a banker who drives only 30minutes to hiso office for many years.
This a situation where one would expect the National Assembly, especially the house of Representative to come to the rescue of Nigerians. In this hard times, there is no way ordinary people can afford to buy a tyre for N25,000. The cause of motor accidents in most cases is bad roads and reckless driving and not expired tyres. The FRSC is just looking for ways to extort motorists. its unfair.
g4everybody: This government is the worst thing to hav ever happen to Nigeria
Is it because it is bringing out the ingenuity in people? My friend, that is how countries develop. If you are jobless, think of something you can do with your hands and brains instead of lamenting stupidly.
AntiWailer: How a Professor has millions in his account ?
You are kidding right ?
He lectures in Unilag and also lectures in Bell's University.
Quite a number of Federal university lecturers are also lecturers at private universities. One lecturer at OAU, lectures in 4 private universities. They are always on the move. That is why the standard of university education has fallen drastically in Nigeria.
repogirl: Why these Hausa people get hot temper like this sef?
My dear Nairalanders, in the name God do not refer to those foreigners as Hausas! Those trouble makers are from Niger republic, Mali, Chad etc. They are in Nigeria in hundred of thousands. They are attracted to Nigeria because they get easy jobs to do like Okada, gatemen, cobblers, load carriers etc
Because they have the features of Hausas, they parade themselves as Nigerians but their character is very different from that of an average Nigerian Hausa/Fulani person.
The aforementioned foreigners are rude, temperamental and very dangerous. They know they can easily get away with their nefarious activities because people mistake them for Nigerians.
The security agents and the Nigerian immigration need to check these foreigners.
The Nigerian Hausa/Fulanis are actually peace loving people.
contactmorak: Despite being the sixth richest man in the world with a net worth of $51.7 billion, Facebook founder, Mark Zuckerberg, keeps it simple in his dressing. The 31-year old wears the same t-shirt (grey in color) and hoodie everyday.
So, why does he wear the same thing every day? When asked this question sometimes back in 2014, Zuckerberg cited a number of psychological advantages to never changing his look.
He said:
"I really want to clear my life to make it so that I have to make as few decisions as possible about anything except how to best serve this community,” said Zuckerberg.
“I'm in this really lucky position, where I get to wake up every day and help serve more than a billion people. And I feel like I'm not doing my job if I spend any of my energy on things that are silly or frivolous about my life.”
Simply put, even making little decisions like what to eat or wear can expend energy he’d rather use on making tough choices for his giant social media to make money.
If you spend hours changing in and out of clothes to post your selfies on Facebook and Instagram, you need to think again, except you are really making money from that.
This was almost the same answer Steve Jobs of blessed memory gave when asked the same question. These are highly Cerebral men of International acclaim especially in IT world!
Mann11: . Let me get this right. Does the guy wear the same t-shirt or grey t-shirts? If the former, his sanity needs evaluation. If the latter, it is either the guy doesn't joke with one second of his life or there is more to it than meet the eyes. I SUBMIT!
Common sense should tell you is the later. And those T-shirts aren't cheap!
smirn: **** you forget soon how this same clueless and corrupt GEJ left a subsidy debt of almost NGN600 Billion before leaving office. ****
My dear, I wonder o. It appears all the reasonable Nairalanders have disappeared, leaving only the 5% people to make senseless, useless and annoying comments. It's a shame!
bashydemy1: I disagree with you on this, i think the ban is taken effect at the right time and this will give us insight on patronizing our local rice.We learn there's is rice in Anambra, Kebbi, Kaduna etc, They should go and buy from there and started selling in the markets.. I wish you know how many smugglers have become billionaires at the expense of the masses, They import rice at cheaper rates and started selling in high prices. I based in cotonou and i know lots of wherehouse where they store those rice and in even frozen stocks.
All the rice and frozen stocks will EVENTUALLY enter Nigeria. Mark my words. Nigeria has the most corrupt Custom service in the whole world! Go to Custom bridge in Agbara, along Lagos-Badagry express way and see what is going on there.
Amoshie: What is this one saying? We've been managing your country since independence. We don't need to manage a company before you know what we are doing.
And what is the result of your management since independence? Lack of basic infrastructures like good roads and fast railway network accross the country, lack of good specialist hospitals, lack of clean drinkable water in most homes, outdated refineries, inadequate food production through agriculture, very corrupt Customs, immigration and Police services.
Do I even need to mention lack of adequate electricity supply that has made the country lose most of its manufacturing companies to neighboring countries and rendered the SMEs in Nigeria useless?
What about terrorism, kidnapping and general poverty, hunger and homelessness ravaging the land? I can go on and on.
Mr man, the above is the result sheet of your Management since independence and that is why ALL right thinking Nigerians are calling for the RESTRUCTURING of this country!!!
Hope custom officers no go come use this scenario begin check ambulances and be opening the casket of dead bodies anyhow because some dead body fit vex use this economic anger slap one of them o!
989900: I've always maintained it is all about hoarding and racketeering -- everyone is doing it!!!
We import less fuel now, less rice, and other stuffs, even with oil @ $46-$50 though with less production from us, but with foreign remittances, total inflow (roughly $4b/month on the average) is still greater than outflow (roughly $2b/month) -- but, where are the dollars?!
The dollar shouldn't be trading at more than N220-N250 at the most, if you eliminate hoarding, round tripping, profiteering, and general racketeering.
The CBN either by fault or design or both, is always couple of steps behind thought-wise.
If all these is happening under Emefiele and Buhari, then they both are not fit to be governor, nor president respectively.
Actually, that'd imply they both are both curses and causes to the failed Naira, and system as a whole.
The simple interpretation is, no matter what gains we make economically, it will all be nulled/eroded by the complicity/complacency/ineptitude/cluelessness/greed/favouritism/wickedness of these 2 principal actors.
Very well said. I have always known that the CBN itself is the Headquarters of corruption in Nigeria. Just few weeks ago, I took my niece who just arrived Nigeria from the USA to one of the offices of the BDCs to change the dollars she brought. We were given very dirty and mutilated Naira notes in exchange for the crisps dollars my niece brought.
You don't need to be told that those Naira notes were the ones meant to be destroyed/burnt by CBN but the notes have managed to get to the hands of BDC agents! I even made my feelings known to the BDC agent and he more or less agreed with me. My people, is that not another form of round tripping?
The value of the Naira can never appreciate if the CBN is supplying cheap Naira notes to BDC agents who use the Nairas to buy Dollars from people. The Ministry of Finance need to beam It's searchlights on what is actually going on in CBN!
UgoPapa: Every day Mr fashola either inspects lagos-ibadan express way or oyo-ogbomosho express. When will he visit calabar-ikot_ekpene or calabar - ogoja Highway. He is a Nigerian minister not an afenifere minister.
Kings2rule: Wait a second... did you just called him the lil girls father? no I can bet you he's not the father of that lil girl. A real father will never do anything to hurt his children despite any form of frustration. This is inhumane.
I totally agree with you and I can also bet with my last Naira that the little girl is not the mechanic's daughter. I implore the Lagos state government to carry out a DNA test to check this out. I want to also suggest that DNA be made a routine check in our maternity hospitals throughout Nigeria. A lot of men are not the biological fathers to the children they are nurturing.
Toeyoursea: The banks violated the TSA agreement and they should be made to face the wrought of the law. The price hike is the price the government will have to pay for doing the right thing and I think it is worth it. They will learn to take Nigeria serious next time; THE ERA OF IMPUNITY IS OVER.
LORDOFTHEOSU: what concerns you with Ambode? are you ashamed to mention your own governor?
But 'LORDOFAFONJAS' post is very true. This is not a matter of hate or sentiment. Ambode has done in one year what Fashola could not do in 8 years. Even a blind man in Lagos state can see it.
Even ECOBANK is not on the list. A lot of people don't know that ECOBANK is a very good bank. I have been using the bank for more than 10 years and I have no complaint. They are everywhere and their staff is not as unfriendly as some of the other banks. (I use other banks too so I know what am saying) Kudos to ECOBANK, the real people's bank!
The big question is what happens to those impounded or seized bags of rice. I know for certain that they are not destroyed (buried) like they do to imported frozen chickens or poultries. So what happens to them? Can someone please tell us?
Incrizz: I like your faith. So you think the present government will allow the votes to count just like the previous government allowed it to?
May God bless you for thinking realistically. The North will make sure that the Votes in the South do not count. Where did those HUGE votes from Kano, Kaduna and Kastina in the last Presidential elections emerged from? And without any void votes? Anyone that thinks the votes in those 3 states in particular and in the whole North were REAL should get his head examined. Abi people think the restructuring presently going on in the Police, Army, Air force and Navy is for nothing. The North is getting ready for 2019. Social Media cannot stop them.
Joavid: it's either you're a mama's boy or you think she's going to disrespect your mum.
whichever it is, it's best you don't get married until you find a lady you won't threaten with such statements and grow up to be a man.
He is really a mama's boy and I pity any girl that marries such a 'boy' because he is sounding as if he doing the girl a favour by wanting to marry her. Absolute rubbish!
eyinjuege: 1. Maybe the sex has become boring. She doesn't enjoy it anymore with you.
2. Or maybe she's really tired as she says she is. Does she work? What time does she get home from work? Who picks up the kids from school? Who takes care of them after school? Who takes care of the cooking?, cleaning, washing? If she does all these alone, she will be genuinely tired everyday. The traffic situation alone can cause a headache on its own. Having young children screaming I want this, I want that can cause another headache. Cooking different meals for the children, and then for the older ones too everyday can stress you out too.
3. Also, women do think about money issues too. So if she's broke and there are some expenses pending in the home like house rent, school fees, changing her car because the old one keeps giving her trouble, sex would be far from her mind.
Some men find sex as a stress reliever, and when stressed they want sex. Its not the same for most women, who when stressed see sex as more stress or even a stress inducer.
