Lexusgs430: What was the MUMU Oga looking at, that allowed a huge withdrawal? Exactly. Something is not adding up in this story because I find it strange that the man could not locate his ATM card for days with such amount of money in his account and he felt comfortable. If I cannot locate my ATM card even for some hours, I will run to the nearest branch of my bank to deactivate the card. It is either the story is exaggerated or the man has a lot of stolen money which EFCC should investigate. |

mrbyron: This guy is not that stupid. If he had the intelligence to change the masters pin so he won't receive alerts, he must have stashed some money elsewhere. He needs to be tortured to tell the truth. Thank you and God bless you. Anyone that believes that the driver spent all the money on women and clubbing is indeed very STUPID. Even if the police pretend to believe him, they will know how to collect the money from him but the money will not be returned to driver's boss. |

11.01 am both of them.. Those types of dangerous spots are where men of FRSC should be to alert drivers, especially commercial drivers of dangers ahead. But what we have is FRSC officers in corners of urban roads, stopping vehicles to ask for particulars and look for any excuse possible to delay motorists and extort money. It is sad. |
Agriculture › Re: Made In Nigeria Rice From Niger & Kebi States (Photos) by murmee: 9:26am On Aug 01, 2016 |
fiizznation: Niger state is a state that is blessed with vast land and its land is very conducive for farming. There is this baddegi rice in the state, if the FG can get serious with that badeggi rice, I'm so sure Nigeria will be fully independent from importing rice. I did a little research in the state like 8yrs ago, and i was highly impressed with what I saw in badeggi. Like that badeggi rice can compete with Brazil/Thailand rice if more attention is given to it. You are right. In 1989, my cousin and I visited Minna on excursion to Niger state. When we were leaving, we went to one of the local open market in Minna where I bought some measures of their local rice. Hmmm, I will never forget that rice! There's nobody close to me that I have not told about the deliciousness of that rice. You may even eat it without soup. The aroma that comes out when cooking the rice is tantalizing. So I really wonder why Nigeria is importing rice when we have better rice in this country. If not for bad roads and lack of railway transport across the country, I would have been going to Minna to buy that nutritious and wonderful local rice and not all these over processed polished rice from Thailand, Indonesia etc. |

Politics › Re: July 1966 Counter-coup: Fajuyi’s Aides Knew About The Coup But Betrayed Him –sis by murmee: 3:22pm On Jul 30, 2016 |
naijafox: While Awolowo never trusted the Igbos, the north never trusted Awolowo and theYorubas. The northern oligarchy instigated crisis in Western Nigeria in the same manner President Obasanjo used the Uba brothers to instigate crisis in Anambra State. This crisis led to the trumped up charges leading to the trial and imprisonment of Awolowo . Reports has it that he was to be poisoned in prison before the military coup altered the state of affairs.
Awolowo was released from Calabar prison by Biafran leader Odumegwu Ojukwu and there was an agreement that while Ojukwu declares Biafra in the East, Awolowo would declare Oduduwa Republic in the West. The British establishment, sensing the dangers of Awolowo declaring Oduduwa Republic in the West, convinced Gowon and the north to checkmate Awolowo’s secessionist agenda by appointing him the Vice Chairman of Federal Executive Council. This strategy worked effectively and Awolowo was deceived that after Gowon’s tenure he would be given the opportunity of ruling Nigeria. Awolowo thus had to checkmate the Biafran dream to clear any obstacle to his ruling Nigeria while the north was looking for the right opportunity to throw him into the dustbin. In frustration, Awo resigned from Gowon’s cabinet when he realized he has been politically duped.
Awolowo quashed the Biafran dream while the northern establishment killed the Oduduwa dream and betrayed Awolowo’s presidential ambition thrice. This fact was aptly captured by a prominent Yoruba leader and Nigeria’s former minister of aviation Chief Femi Fani-Kayode while replying to a boastful statement by another prominent northern leader, Alhaji Usman Farouk on how the north dominated the Yoruba people and conquered the Niger Delta. According to Fani Kayode, "... the north literally begged Awolowo not to declare Oduduwa Republic and go the way of Biafra even though that was his original intention…Fourthly it was the support that the south west gave to the north that allowed Nigeria to win the war. Fifthly it was the lie that Gowon and the northern leaders fed to Awolowo that he would be made President of the country after the war and after being effectively being made de facto Prime Minister under Gowon during the war that got Awolowo to support them’’, invariably, the Igbos and Yorubas were effectively dribbled, divided, manipulated and overpowered. h Northerners were always wise when it came to politics I totally agree with your last sentence. The sad part of it all is that the Yoruba leaders, particularly, Tinubu, Pa Akande etc have not learnt any lesson from the past. They are still as gullible as Awolowo and Fajuyi. See the way Buhari and his brethren dribbled them into believing that the ACN will be carried along when taking major decisions but see what is happening. Those of us with third eyes knew that the Yoruba leaders will be shoved aside as soon as power returns to the North. |

EmmaFantastic: You see, the only way any region in Nigeria can accelerate its development and properly execute a robust, comprehensive and integrated matserplan, will be if we start to practise FULL AND PROPER FEDERALISM, that's all!! Until that is done, anything or idea we do is a waste of time and a merry go round...we will keep going about in circles. My take girlie! The idea of True or Proper Federalism will be strongly resisted and opposed by those who do not want to see the Southern part of Nigeria develop. |
