I think the title of this topic is irresponsible. If it was to attract people to click, that's misrepresentation. It costs you nothing to simply state that this is what you predict. I was initially shocked; I wouldn't have expected a presidential candidate to be this divisive over a people he wants to rule. Excuse me! |
If you could merge the points in No 25, I see no/less reason(s) No 3 & 13 couldn't. I can condone the Eto'o stuff but not Drogba; that's not a major one if you know what I mean. The meaning of Tswana makes one understand why the nationals are not called Botswanese or the likes ![]() http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Botswana |
All these because of some coloured ticks SMH |
The argument may never end with people supporting or going against this statement based on personal experiences. All the same, your boss is RIGHT and I like the way this was coined - " And You Have Nothing Doing". I think we've ignored that part of the statement. Like someone said, you may be underemployed especially as a graduate but not unemployed. I think we need the paradigm shift where graduates don't ignore technical jobs or vocational skills - like someone said, you went to school for freaking sake. The exposure helps you to be innovative even though I know Nigeria is a complicated country. |
While I acknowledge that it's possible the registration process can be porous, I cannot rely on the OP's observations as facts. 1. What is the Lagosian accent? Did you speak to them in Yoruba? 2. Are they ineligible to register to vote simply because they don't look like Southern Nigerians? 3. Did they offer you their passports etc for you to ascertain they are indeed from Niger/Chad? If the OP was in Sokoto state this year, would you have loved it if someone classified as you as non-Nigerian simply because you could not communicate well with them ![]() Before you tag someone as an illegal immigrant, s/he must have not the immigration papers to stay/live/work here. |
bossmini84:That's almost like having no employment contract - what else have you signed in this company? Cos there may just have been a clause you've acknowledged to follow. |
xtervaganza:Yes they are. |
I understand you Papiwata and see reasons with your submissions. However, the case is that you cannot call the doctor's competence into questions when you're not competent enough to judge the adequacy or otherwise of the procedures that were performed. We are all here to learn but as others have pointed out, it's an unnecessary jab when the comedian doesn't understand what fully the elements of his/her joke are all about. It's just like laughing at the culture of some people without knowing what it's all about. Not trying to derail the thread - SUAREZ is a good player; a professional who displays his competence on the football pitch. Love him or hate him, we know he's good. Unfortunately, his professional conduct has landed him in trouble. This doesn't mean he's not good at what he does, it's just that he could cause unfair play via his conduct. This is where the duty of the regulators come into play. He's punished for such conducts - if the regulators are not aware, it's reported (like Evra's racism case). That's where I differ - some of these acts would go unpunished if: 1. People fail to report these acts 2. The regulator fails to act on these cases (reported or observed) |
^^^ I think this is more of professional conduct than the practice itself. |
Oratorical: of or relating to the skill or activity of giving speeches : of or relating to oratory http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/oratorical I think OP needs to define some T7Cs here. Most politicians here are skilled in this - it's what comes out of this skill that differs. From the OP, what I deduce is someone who articulates his/her thought when speaking in public. I hope this thread does not turn into a political bashing one - I'd nominate BRF + Akinwunmi Adesina here. When Odein Ajumogobia was a FAM, he displayed these skills too. |

phineas:Well written and sums up my feelings. Before you bash anything, you MUST (as a matter of responsibility especially when you serve as a source of information) have good knowledge about it. And in this era where websites have comments' section, you pen a new discourse and learn new things when your readers point out gaps or what you know not of in your write-up. Well, I didn't laugh here |
^^^^^ Not holding brief for anyone but what I see behind the posters are buses. If there's one big problem in Lagos, it's the way commercial transporters and private organizers park indiscriminately thereby leading to traffic gridlock. Comparing it to Abuja, we would need to consider the population of both cities and the commercial activities that go on in both (sections of the) cities. As regards the poster, that's a nice way to tackle them but then again, party primaries would soon take place. Let's watch and see |

MisterLongman:At the rate at which people are creating lists like they wanna get listed, the NSE may not be enough o! |
If there's anything, the new generation guys are risk takers and have an insatiable appetite. They want changes or dynamism and can easily get bored. Ultimately, money gets to play a big role. This story ties down with this on a feminine side: http://www.businessinsider.com/harvard-business-school-women-ceos-2014-11 • More than 70% of the 24 female CEOs spent over 10 years at the company they now run. |

Olaone1:This is a limitation of trying to write English correctly in programming languages so as to cater for every eventuality. Some programmers put the plural, 's' in bracket to take care of the numbers. |
jaybossYBNL:Lol! The phone seems to be much more interesting than Tinubu's speech ![]() That moment when politicians speak the same of the same, no new format, no revised edition! While pictures can say a thousand words, they could at times be telling us the wrong things ![]() |
emenik08:Having an international passport is one of them. Willingness to travel when the time comes irrespective of the other things you're doing is also another. |
You're focusing on his 1st degree whilst ignoring his other degrees + banking experience. Experience does matter my brother; that's the reason why they say it's the best teacher. Learning is one thing, applying is another. It's not unusual to see those with a science background ease into commerce unlike the case would have been if it was the other way round. Nevertheless, whilst it's important that people are able to practise what they learned in school instead of the mad one-way rush for banks etc (as we have here presently), we need to reorientate the average Nigerian graduate not to limit their focus - expand your horizon. You will add value when you can apply knowledge you have gained into a particular process. The courses you enroll for only make you specialized so it's assumed you're good in that area, it doesn't limit you. That's why we have 'borrowed' courses in our curricula. Knowledge is a continuum; learn here and there + be inquisitive in whatever 'sparks up your light'. The day you get to apply these "heres & theres", it'll only make you appear like a genius unbeknownst to others that na 1+1+1 make your 3 big ![]() Yes, he's Pascal Dozie's son. There couldn't have been a 'better' time for Dozie to 'emerge' since the former occupant of the post wants to become governor in Abia State. Some may say 'family business' etc but the bank has given others the opportunity in the past. Family businesses die when imposition takes place - this is not only about imposing the kin on the board; it's also imposing the business on the children. Some employees could become dissatisfied if the succession is not handled properly but in this case, they've positioned the ladder well. He has gone through the ropes and knows his onions. #Merit |
tochman:Please tell us when Matthew Okikiola converted from Islam to Christianity. Shikena Don't send me errands on Google; I choose you as my friend please. Psst! |
akinsadeez:Exactly. Methinks this is an extreme way to prove that an organ that accompanied you from birth does not define you - crap! |
tochman:Where did you get this from? emmasege:This is why all these religious sentiments do not pay anyway. You first agreed that the voted to elect a Christian governor, yet you say the subtly eliminated him? Are you saying that 'they' planned the death of Yakowa & Azazi in Bayelsa Or the pilot that was a Muslim was planted too?All these religion talk is trash IMO, only permanent interests matter to ALL. |
01emek:I do not know about "if i agree that am responble"; whatever the case is, people have given you options here. To conduct a DNA test, you would have to wait for some months after the baby has been delivered of. Your life would not be miserable if you begin preparing for such responsibilities at an early age. Those who made such 'mistakes' in the part have had to grow up faster than they expected. Learn to live with it |
To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.- Theodore Roosevelt He alleged that it was statements from people like Atiku that emboldened the insurgents to take up arms against the state.^^^ Now it's Atiku's statement that incited BH abi? Tomorrow they'll say it's Tinubu or GMB? How about when our President acknowledges that he knows those who are BH members in his cabinet? Is that a tacit approval of their activities? A form of 'government backing' to embolden them ![]() Atiku does have his investments to protect - AAUN being the notable but c'mon, I hate when they personalize these issues. Nigerians are dying, they're trivializing our sovereignty. Pooh! Okupe said insurgency remained the problem facing the country and that government had been battling it and would overcome it, especially with the calibre of people serving in the government.^^^ The caliber of people serving the government has not shown great character in solving this. I was shocked seeing Akpabio at the FEC meeting yesterday talk about the negotiation with 'non-faceless' BH and his claim that journalists must have misinterpreted the meeting with the Chadian government as a truce? So many mixed voices coming from the "calibre of people serving in the government" - today, they know who BH members, they know those who sponsor them and they know where to get them. Tomorrow, they don't know who these 'faceless' people are, they blame supposed critics for instigating the crises and the likes. He also added that the present government remained the best since independence in 1960. . .“But I want to say here that Jonathan administration is the most successful since 1960.”^^^ Self-evaluation remains subjective. |
