PenSniper: You are absolutely correct. Rwanda started exactly the same way. It is only a matter of time. Exactly! time. Recently, I saw a movie "Alien Outpost". The movie was based on alien supposed invasion of earth in a future time 2054AD(can't remember the exact year). At the said future time according to the movie, the whole world has already formed a United Earth Military Force recruiting members around the world. There is a particular Specialized unit sent on Post-Invasion mission. This team consist of highly trained combatant soldiers of different races/color. but one thing got my attention- the only black soldier in the team was a representative of Republic of Biafra(Not Nigeria or Ghana or Kenya or What-have-you but Biafra! Why Biafra?!). The West have for long been passing very clear messages into our subconscious in very subtle ways. Most of the movies been released nowadays are laden with subliminal messages that reveal clear patterns of what is to come, if only we are receptive enough. Those who predicted that Nigeria will break have perfected the plan long before forecasting it but like every plan, they will need to test, check and recheck the necessary methods towards achieving their objectives most especially in a dynamic and volatile state like Nigeria where a single 'ordinary' event can generate many different and unexpected ripple effects. |

Pangea: Everyday people talk about starting another war without remembering that war is hell. Thank God for the War Journalist who helps us remember. One such a Journalist is the Frenchman Gilles Caron who first saw war as a French soldier in Algeria and hated it so much that he stopped fighting and spent the last 4 months of his Military service in French chains.
He then went on to fashion photography which he found boring and returned to the front this time without a gun but with a camera and has given us some of the most thought provoking photos from various conflicts including our own Biafra.
My favourite ( if we can call it that ) is this one of wounded Biafran soldiers being left by their mates as the battle turns and the Federals advance.,
Just as you see the back of the fleeing Biafrans you can take inventory of the fright and horror of the surviving wounded soldier in his eyes pleading with the remaining troops ( Caron included ) not to be left behind to a certain death.
Instances like this made Gilles Caron drink heavily and you sure can’t blame him because I would be shooting heroin just to be able to go to sleep.
So as you rattle your swords and gnash your teeth crying for war…remember this side and that the young man on the ground is someone’s son, brother or even a Father. Worse still he may never get to be a Father.

They are are supos to be angry and show their anger collectively and be in union with each other. If they can do all that I'm so sure other states will suport them. One thing I know about nigerians is that, no matter our differences, wen it comes to such matter we are unified.
No vex for my English o, I dey try my best Yea you are right, the few protest you now see are the result of unity which was very hard to get in osun. Divide and Rule worked well for Aregbesola. I've neva had a reason to protest and I pray I don't Precide: hmm, datz true. Buh only d wise can take clear steps in Osun. The man is a juju man. Even upon this salary payment crisis, he sponsored traditional pilgrimage to cuba last month. Dunno where the GOATEE got d money from. Aregbe is evil I observed keenly the discourse between you two. @loomer i really say amen to your prayer because if by any chance you take part in any protest no matter how lil or peaceful it is, then you'll know it's beyond boastful internet musings or some virtual confidence being displayed by many folks who have no idea what it is or how it feels to be in this exact predicament. It was a catch-22 situation of some sort until recently.
Like @precide said, Aregbe is a wicked beast, callous and diabolical in his methods. He has used every means to subdue and silence well meaning efforts targeted against his government. Until recently recent, these protests we are now hearing of have started in one form or the other long ago but time has a way of exposing a liar. The little protests being displayed now are a miracle and evidence of answered prayers because even the Labour Unions which hitherto had been rumored to have been bought over by the governor seem tired of his 'bribes'. Some other persons will even say Osun people voted for him again, so the punishment is deserved. 80% of workers and pensioners did NOT vote for him and the ones who did owing to religious sentiments now know they have been fooled twice and are experiencing the consequence of their decision. The governor for long had turned the traders and artisans against civil servants so their outcries were not believed until those ignorant traders also realised recently that when there's no cashflow, in a Civil Servant-Controlled economy like Osun, no business will survive. Due to this disunity created by the governor, he got away with his cruelty for a long time and a formidable protest against an incumbent like the one you described will require alot of strong collective morale, and that my brother, is very low in Osun Streets. Tunde, who was a night watchman with Osun State government was said to have died following his inability to buy food and drugs due to non payment of his salary for seven months. The night watchman attached to the Auditor-general’s Office was said to be on night duty when he collapsed and died at his duty post. Reports said that the man who hailed from Modakeke may have died due to his failure to take his usual drugs for the management of an undisclosed illness. The incident drew the attention of staff of Auditor-General’s office where the man worked but all efforts to rescue him proved abortive. It took the effort of men of Nigeria Police Force and Civil Defence Corps to evacuate the corpse with hundreds of sympathizers on hand. A similar case was also reported on Wednesday when a middle-aged man died owing to lack of money to purchase drugs. Speaking on the development, the Secretary of the Trade Union Congress in Osun State, Mrs. Tola Nosegbe, urged well-meaning Nigerians to join Christian Association of Nigeria and churches in giving aids to workers in the state to save them from untimely death. Mrs. Nosegbe maintained that government had not been transparent in its approach to the non-payment of workers salaries, saying government should explain how it spent its allocation from January this year to date. Workers and pensioners in Osun State have not been paid in the past seven months. PDP seeks NEMA’s assistance Meantime, the Osun state Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has said the plight of workers in the state required intervention by the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA. The PDP though commended the decision of the state chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, to donate food stuffs to the state civil servants whose salaries have not been paid for seven months, said the situation required National and International Agencies attention. Govt sensitive to welfare of workers – Aregbesola But the Governor Rauf Aregbesola has said that his administration remains sensitive to the welfare of Osun workers. Aregbesola described the present financial situation of state that has made the state government unable to pay workers’ salary as disheartening and painful, saying however that no one can suggest or establish a single instance of recklessness on the part of his government. gatiano: When a man sees a woman's shape and body and he does not have any reaction, then there is something wrong with his body and mind. Whenever a man sees a woman, he automatically gets urges, How he acts on those urges would determine if it is a sin or not. If women are not that pretty and marvellous, we men won't love them, we won't make children(we are not animals, even animal self looks for fine companion). The solution is for women to dress properly. It make s men think right, when women dress well, we won't even notice them. Abraham gave up his wife sarah once or twice, after that, the solution was to cover up. Yes you're right but I'm sorry dressing mode or solution is not the objective here at this time. The objective is to interprete what that bible passage imply because the OP seems confused. |

Omolola1: I've been a little bit confused for a while now
I've been reading the bible back to back, and I came across this passage: I Corinthians 7:36 "But if any man think that he behaves himself uncomely toward his virgin, if she pass the flower of her age, and need so require, let them do what he will, he sins not: let them marry."
Now, my interpretation of this passage is: as long as you are up to the age of 18, a man can sleep with his girl BUT he must marry her after he must have slept with her...This means the bible supports fornication. I've read so many other versions of the same passage, and it's even more revealing and straight to the point than KJV
What's your interpretation? If the man develops sexual urge towards his lover(who is sexually ripe and still 'untouched'), and he thinks he CAN'T control it or expend the energy in otherways but MUST satisfy that urge with HER, THEN he should do the needful and marry her before sleeping with her so that both will be free, not having to suppress the urge... and that he has NOT sinned by having urge towards her.
my interpretation. |

Isoni: The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has urged the national leadership of the party to punish the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, for anti-party activities.
Lagos APC, in a statement by its publicity secretary, Mr. Joe Igbokwe, said it was saddening that Saraki could ‘jump into bed’ with the Peoples Democratic Party in his desperation for power.
Igbokwe described the re-election of Senator Ike Ekweremadu as the Deputy Senate President as an embarrassment to the APC.
The statement read, “The purported election of Senator Saraki and Dogara as the Senate President and Speaker respectively, is a clear transgression of both the tenets of democracy and party politics. At this early stage, the APC must come down strongly to mete out sanctions and punishments against treacherous members that perpetrated this ugly charade at this early stage of the party’s life and history.
“As a party and given the circumstances of our present politics, the APC stands no risk of being eroded by this treachery. Rather, we see the clear road to enforce discipline in the treacherous conduct of some members of the National Assembly.
“We see the need for the party to wield the big stick now to send a message home that treachery will not profit those who might want to cash in on similar circumstances to spite the party and cash personal benefits in the long run. It is certain that these betrayers are not members of the APC and we feel the party must weigh in now and discipline these betrayers.”
www.punchng.com/news/punish-saraki-dogara-lagos-apc/ Apc obviously got carried away by their unexpected national success which they are not well equiped and prepared to manage. APC is an expert in opposition politics but pdp is teaching them painful but vital lessons on politics of governance. VirginFinder: It was Tinubu who went to meet Buhari in Kaduna and convinced/begged him to form APC. Buhari had already retired from politics.
The worst that could happen to the north was to wait till 2019 and get the power back from GEJ on the platform of PDP. That would have spelt doom for Yorubas and brightened the chance of an ibo presidency.
Tinubu outsmarted the SS/SE to forestall that scenario.
Remember, Yorubas ditched the zoning arrangement and backed GEJ to emerge both as acting and substantive president against the north's interest. Yes you're right. Yoruba ignored zoning and Obasanjo USED tinubu in 2011. The same way they will ignore zoning to vote for an Igbo or a Tiv president if the need arises. Yorubas have always demonstrated sophistication when it comes to politics. Yorubas have never accepted tinubu as their leader. It is tinubu portraying himself as yoruba leader. Tinubu is even considered more infamous in the yoruba regions being governed by his footsoldiers. He is apc leader and if you check the last buhari result, one would think apc would win landslide in the SouthWest going by the noise. Although, APC led in the Southwest, the pattern revealed the apc actually got lesser votes than their supposed 'popularity' in the region while other opposition parties chief of which is pdp actually got more votes than they expected. In 1999, the yorubas didn't see obasanjo as their candidate. In 2011, SS,SE (and neutral PDP northerners thru Obj) used tinubu's acn bloc votes against the north. In 2015, the Northerners (cpc, anpp and disguised PDP) used tinubu's acn bloc votes against SS. What happened yesterday in the green chamber was to spite tinubu not Yoruba and to let him realise the limits of his 'control'. It's obvious the former ACN bloc have been relegated totally in the National Assembly even in an APC national government. "A man more right than his neighbours is a majority of one." Most Yorubas are happy with this outcome as tinubu has already become a majority of one.. Democracy is growing. Nigeria is winning. Tinubu is losing. https://www.nairaland.com/2368344/see-words-femi-gbajabiamila-returned#34602473 |

ochejoseph: Femi Gbajabiamila may have tasted the bitter Pill he fed the PDP in 2011.
As Leader of the then ACN Femi did all the ground work that led subversion of the will of the then PDP and the emergence of Tambuwal al as speaker by a wide margin of 250 to 90. This evening Femi tasted an even more painful defeat losing by a very slim Margin to Dogara who beat Femi using the tactics of subversion created By Femi Gbajabiamila himself !!!! What a world!!!
See what Femi Told Channels on the Tambuwal issue below!!!
Tambuwal Was Made Speaker By House Members Not PDP – Gbajabiamilla
The Nigerian House of Representatives Minority Leader, Femi Gbajabiamila, has dismissed the Peoples Democratic Party’s demand that the Speaker of the House, Aminu Tambuwal, who defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday should do the needful, saying it is a threat that bears no consequence on the speaker.
Mr Gbajabiamila stressed that the Speaker was elected by the members of the House across all the political parties and not just the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members.
But for Mr Gbajabiamila, the demand by PDP is an empty threat that the speaker is not expected to obey, since he, Tambuwal had not enjoyed the support of the PDP right from the day he was picked as the speaker in deviance to PDP’s choice of candidate.
Hear Femi “The members decided to chose him based on the stipulations of the constitution.
“He did not come to the speakership of the House through the PDP. The PDP does not want him any longer. They have tried to remove him several times, so he has to leave the party.
“I can’t understand the pain of PDP, he came in as speaker not basically as a result of PDP support but as a result of support of the entire house. He had over 250 votes while the PDP nominee had only 90 votes. It was because of the support of the members of the the House that he became the speaker. It tells you how much support he has in the House.
“I don’t see anything changing that much and the sooner that the PDP understand that if the members of the House says they want a person as a speaker, that is who the House wants,” he added.
