bros electrical engineering is the engineering field with highest number of ladies, make research b4 u post
yea, but research also has has it that ladies brain have more grey mater for intelligent thinking than men. So both of you are right.

sweet7oyin:
Pharmacy shuld. Be b4. Medicine...elect elect shuld be . Number. 1..
Though I studied electrical engineering which really is not for simple thinkers, I always and still maintain and rate Pharmacy/Biochemistry/Chemistry-based courses above medicine. They're like Alchemy.
However, the medical school is not for jokers either.

naturalwaves:
In your school, chemical engineering guys might be better but generally, EE guys and mech engine still carry the day and as you can see, the research still placed EE and mech above chem.engine. I think you shouldn't really bother yourself, at least chemical engineering is on the list. Computer science still requires a higher IQ than all those ones cos if you do not have a very IQ, you can't be one.
Talking about your mentor, he wasn't and isn't a science person. He did Accounting and there is a wide gap between that and the subject matter we are talking about, he only has a faint idea cos he works in an oil firm and sees a lot of chem engineering grads. So, he isn't in a good position to say what and what is not when such subject matters are being discussed.
Moreover, you spanking 90A bla bla bla does not necessarily make one a genius or have a high IQ. In the science field, I doubt if there is any subject matter that requires a higher IQ than programming/ computer science.
In his School(OAU) -CHE department, has a history of protecting their students even in courses offered in other departments whether they be genius or not...the bolded very accurate.

That said, Programming/Computer Science is relatively a modern subknowledge of Electrical Engineering and Mathematics and cannot be fully separated from both disciplines...So we are all saying the same thing from differently wide perspective. e.g
Grace Hopper the inventor of COBOL is an Electrical Engineer...
Alan Turin who is supposedly a mathematician designed a machine that solved the Enigma Code during World War -that machine basically involved high level of Engineering and Computing.

uch21:
so wat happened to de course of the greatest man so far,Albert Einstein, physic, una no get OT baa
Physics is the philosophy and the root of everything. EE is rated toughest of Engineering bcoz it probably is the branch that applies every philosophy Pure Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics has to offer.

These movies reveal too...

The Immitation Game
The Theory of Everything
A Brilliant Young Mind
3 Idiots

Electrical Engineers are trained to Understand everything which is more like how physicists are trained too but engineers bring the 'thought' to become 'form' in order to solve (and in some cases create) human problems from nature.

You all are correct anyways. All courses have 'geniuses' some disciplines of knowledge just bring out the genius more than some other.

PoliticsRe: Nigeria To Use Sukuk For Infrastructural Funding by mytym(m): 3:08pm On May 19, 2016
omolola15:
Before you start shouting islamize please understand why Islamic bond is one of the best options when borrowing. It's interest free. You borrow 10 billion you pay back 10 billion. It's as simple as that. But I'm very sure some mumu people will still come here and shout islamize. Make i dey my corner dey observe them.

I no talk am? See them shouting islamize. They'll never read and comprehend. Where were you when UK and Hong Kong issued sukuk. Oh sorry you were busy doing something stewwpid somewhere stewwpid. Must you wail at every opportunity you get?

Incase you don't get it Islamic loans are interest free loans. So incase theirs an Islamic bank near you. And you are considering a loan for your business. You might wanna consider doing business with them. Because they won't put you through the agony other banks are putting you through.

This one don even change from islamize to islamatise. Na war for una ooooo
I want to assume you read and comprehend well. You don't have to call people names if really youre educated and civil. Yes Sukkuk is interest free but it's one of the novel ways they (Islamic and Arab nations) are using as baits to deepen their faith and alliances.

One of the fundamental requirement in a Sukkuk bond/loan is that the issuer's interest must be directly represented in the assets and infrastructures that the sukkuk fund is used for.
Nothing harmful when UK or HongKong or India issues sukkuk so long their INTERESTs is reflected in the projects the loan is used for.
When a supposedly secular state like Nigeria goes to borrow Sukkuk from KSA, Turkey, Kuwait, Egypt its only a matter of time before its made official, however discreetly or otherwise.

How will your friend react if You as an individual decide to loan a friend some money the sukkuk way by not collecting interest but by telling your friend that whatever he spends the money on MUST reflect your religious interest?

Yes, PMB (APC) has already begun the process of ISLAMIZING nigeria. He has the alibi. The process may take months, years before it is fully materialise but the pattern of events has already tilted towards that direction. His foot soldiers had already started the process long before he was voted president.
And from all indications Nigeria just joined league of arab countries 'against' terrorism (that's what they claim it is on the surface).

Governor Aregbesola in 2012 got Sukkuk loan to build Schools. The money is supposedly to renovate old existing schools and build new ones.
It would interest you to know that 85%-90% of those schools are either Christian Mission Schools or Community Schools with a handful being muslim schools.
The Sukkuk project ensures that those schools when completed MUST have a Mosque. (there are documents so i'm not just spewing thrash)
Where do you think the idea of a universal school uniform came from? It was birthed from the same motive. I'm not sure if you are aware that ALL public secondary school pupils in Osun state wear the same uniform!
The policy also instructed all muslim female students to be wearing the scarf-Hijab even in schools which hitherto are not faithbased or mission schools. Apparently it resulted in several religious crisis in some towns.

Governor Ambode just made a law that Churches constituiting public nuisance through noise (deliberately ignoring the mosques and their loudspeakers) will be prosecuted. You will say isn't Ambode a 'christian'? Yes, he claims he is, so also Pastor Prof. the Vice President.
From a reliable source, the V.P was shut out of the meeting where it was instructed all religious activities in the Aso Villa Chapel should be suspended forthwith. I ask myself which else religious activity occur in the chapel if not christian.

Recently, Governor Elrufai another great pawn came up with anti-christian policies.

Islamic banking is not entirely bad and Sukkuk is only a subset of Islamic banking, Sukkuk bond really is not what it seems to be. Especially if one is not the issuer. It is suspicious for a secular state to go borrowing sukkuk not from christian/ secular countries but from Islamic nations.

Youre not completely wrong but please read more on Sukkuk and get wise. Thanks https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sukuk , http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S2214845013000112

APC has a lot of things in their agenda, i'm certain turning nigeria to a fully islamic state is one big plan in the scheme of things.

I applied for a Canadian admission for MSc.E Chemical Engineering. Normally for your admission to be successful you need to secure a supervisor whose research interest is similar to yours. I have done that and he encouraged me to apply. I submitted my application and after going through my application with other supporting documents like letter of motivation and others, he sent me a mail this afternoon that they want to consider me PhD instead of MSc I applied for. I'm very confused right now if to accept it or not considering high standard of education abroad as I use to hear, I haven't experienced foreign education before, this is my first. Please accept the PhD offer...You are brilliant and very lucky, in the sense that your bachelors is not engineering and the PgD is to make you eligible for MSc. Some folks with MSc Chemical Engineering even had to do M.Phil first before Ph.D

That is so narrow and I think Igbos are just selfish. Even the Yorubas are not happy are constantly applying for decentralization of power in nigeria. I am for that not breaking up. Stop being selfish please. Everyone from middle-belt to Yoruba has been suffering northern oppression in this country.

One Nigeria is not about only about oil. Most Importantly about the religious distribution of states. If Igbo goes then Nigeria is pre-dominantly muslim. Nobody wants that Yoruba will go and Middle belt will go. It will lead to war and deaths of millions. Stop this please. If you want decentralize power it will help a lot.

It is either Decentralize power or North goes. How about us middle belts always classified as North, when we are north. We are used to get power but get thrown away when the northern allocation comes in.
This is deep, but also very true!

Actually, the Israelis who built OAU according to records had combined majors. A double degree in Structural Engineering and Architecture so you're not completely wrong.
However, one should know that the integrity of any architectural design is largely dependent on the genius of the Structural Engineer who comes up with a structural design that not only preserve the aesthetics of the architect's design, but also takes care of any forceable fractures and failures that may result from the adventurous expression of the architect.
This is because not all architectural design are structurally feasible, however with the help of technology professionals are pushing boundaries forth and setting new limits.

OAU structures are classical and will endure for a time to come, Architects do NOT construct, Engineers do...

A friend of mine is confused on which of these jobs to take. Pls advice, which option should he go for?

First job
Company; law firm
Time; 7.30am-6.00pm
Days; monday-friday
Salary; 30K with other uncertain benefits
Salary per annum; 360,000naira

Second job
Company; music school
Days; wednesdays and thursdays only
Time; 12-2pm
Salary; 300K every 3 months
Salary per annum; 900,000naira
Music School i will advise. I dont know whether the person is employed as a company lawyer in that school or as a Music professional. Either way, I'd advise the person to go for the school. It doesnt hinder him/her from practicing legal services in other forms (PP) however subtle. Lawyers now prefer to be Company Secretaries and a host of other job descriptions. The icing on that cake is the free personal time.

I must add, except the young lawyer is sure of becoming a practicing Partner over time in an established law firm or planning to leave and set up personal chamber, nowadays its increasingly getting more difficult to nurture ones passion healthily without money.

Most people still manage to live in denial that money isn't everything. Money is FUNDamental, its why its called FUNDS.

akinyeleaa:
Some of you who don't even understand how this works are opening ur buccal shii to spew trash.
What happens is creation of more local councils brings governance closer to the masses, it also aids development as each local council would at least have an headquarters.
And to those making noise about funding, what happens is it is the present apparatus( I mean human and financial resources) that is shared WHAT RESOURCES?? and it better gets to the grass roots THE SAME WAY THE OVER 500BILLION DEBT GOT TO THE GRASSROOTS?

Another advantage of this is it helps to generate more funds for the govt, as each local council now generates funds and it also aids effectiveness.
Creation of states or local govt has always been seen to aid development at the grassroot levels.People should criticize policies constructively and offer alternatives and not just run ur mouths because you have to

Funny how someone in Oshodi or Alaba will sit in his room and talk about things he doesn't understand
Right from the outset of his tenure, he has been eager to quickly replicate the Jagaban methods of Lagos in osun, not taking into cognisance the peculiarity and difference between the two states especially as it, affects culture and economy.
You seem to know just how to generate more funds than the IRS... Please explain especially in the case of Osun.

Suffice it to say that creation of LCDA will only worsen the present predicament of the grassroot people, and further deepen their suffering than it is already.
Apparently you have little understanding on the penury and hardship aregbes government has brought upon osun people. Peradventure you do, i'm sure you are beclouded by your 'knowledge' of government/governance.

Lastly, you talk as if you and the governor just concluded a closed-door meeting at the white house in abeere.
Most Government offices cant even get funds to buy A4 paper, toners to printers, the same government that cannot even swallow its pride and stop the school feeding owing to lack of funds but came on media blackmailing the cooks for rationing food served to the kids.

Every move by the governor is counter-intuitive. In saner climes, they resign when clue is no more.

PoliticsRe: Power Generation Moves Up To 4,200MW by mytym(m): 9:42am On Mar 04, 2016
9jaclicktivist:
After weeks of plummeting fortunes, the nation’s power generation rose yesterday to 4,200 Mega Watts (MW) from 3,755MW.

The power generattion profile peaked at 5,074MW early February, before it started cascading.

The current height, according to the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), was due to the completion of maintenance on the gas pipeline to the generating stations.

In a statement signed by The Asst. General Manager (Public Affairs), SO/MO, TCN, Clement Ezeolisah: “Power generation has started improving and is now over 4200MW on daily average,”
He attributed the recent outages to scheduled maintenance programme on the pipelines supplying gas to the generating stations.

Electricity consumers had in recent times been groanning under epileptic power supply, which has drastically impacted on domestic and commercial activities.

The new development may have however raised hopes of improved power supply in the country, if other factors should work in tandem with the administration’s plan for lower outages.

Meanwhile, other industry sources hinted that the tariff intrigues are brewing concerns around the gas producing companies, which are worried that the failure to implement the Multi Year Tariff Order (MYTO 2015) might make the electricity business less viable.

According to the sources, if the new tariff fails to sail through, it would leave the industry with non-cost reflective tariff, which might trigger the debt profile of the distribution companies and transmission companies.

The Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), Dr. Anthony Akah, had lamented incidents of vandalism that led to reduction in peak power supply through the national grid from over 5,000MW attained early February.

Akah therefore solicited support of members of the public and the council to collaborate with the service providers and security agencies in ensuring security of electrical installations.

He said that the commission would soon compel electricity distribution companies to publish their meter deployment schedules, so as to ensure adherence to the meter roll out plan, contained in the performance agreement signed with government by the utility firms.

About nine power generating stations across the country were either completely or partly affected by the gas supply challenges, forcing the national grid to shut-in about 2044Mega Watts (MW) of electricity.

Affected stations included Olorunshogo National Integrated Power Plant (NIPP) was completely shutting-in 600MW; Sapele NIPP shuts-in112.5 MW; Omotosho (Gas), 190MW; Geregu NIPP, 145MW; Delta, 340MW; Omotosho NIPP120MW; Egbin 440MW; Olorunshogo (Gas) 38MW due to gas shortage; while Odukpani was shutting-in 59.1MW due to water constraints.

hansome01:
I studied a social science course (Pol. Science) which polytechnics doesn't offer. The truth of the matter is that while Nigerian universities are good in terms of theory, Nigerian polytechnics are better in practical terms.
Disbelieve at ur own peril, you can't compare a Mechanical engineering or computer engineering student of Auchi orLautech or Abia Poly with that of University of Ibadan, Futo, Futminna, UNN, who's IQ are on par. That of the former will school that of the later in the practical field anytime, any day. The edge, a
university student has is his or her ability to educate you on a discipline because of their strong foundation in theory.
I graduated from a university so I have a first class knowledge of what m putting forward here.
A graduate of public administration from a polytechnic can't stand me
, I will reduce him or her to nothing, that's because m well rooted in the discipline as it is theoretically inclined.
There are 400l nursing students in universities who can't attend to a patient that needs intensive care but they can make parallel A's.
This is my take on this matter!
I am not surprised you mistaken LAUTECH for a polytechnic, it is a University. Ladoke Akintola University of Technology LAUTECH is a very good school. However, like Nigeria, it is a Pseudo-system. The school combines almost all the virtues and vices you can find in most Universities and Polytechnics too. Lautech graduates have demonstrated excellence wherever they find themselves. The students and graduates are very pushful and tenacious at what they do (both good and bad).

You are not completely wrong though. Since you do not have engineering training in the university/polytechnic, you equally do not have 'first class' knowledge of somethings you have put forth.

PoliticsRe: Why Did EFCC Refuse To Investigate The Following People? by mytym(m): 2:09pm On Feb 25, 2016
mauriceju2:
Why did Buahri EFCC refused to investigate the following people at least to charge the people who alleged them as liar for perjury?
Politicians that should be charged for corruption.

Atiku Abubakar: Reputed to have fleeced the economy of billions in the privatization exercise. His former boss OBJ has consistently told Nigerians that Atiku is "Olee". Today, Atiku remains the presidents right hand man. His stealing has been written-off at the expense of poor Nigerian masses.

Rotimi Amaechi: The Rivers Stage investigation panel confirmed that Rotimi Amaechi stole over N84 Billion from the state treasury. The case was reported to EFCC, but Buahri EFCC refused to investigate at least to charge the people who alleged as liar for perjury. Yet Buhari is making corrupt Amaechi his minister.

Chief Obong Attah: This former Akwa-Ibom governor was accused of fleecing the State to the tune of $5.3 Billion paid to ECONET for which the UK government has declared him wanted. Additionally, the case of over N200M paid for non-existent air port is still largely not investigated. Obong Attah has found a friend in Buhari and as such not longer a thief.

Abacha and family: Buhari served under Abacha regime as Chair of the Petroleum Trust Fund (EFT). This fund was reputed to have "helped"many Buhari friends to loot the Nigerian economy. Though, Buahri has not been directly indicted Abacha family have. In the latest World bank report on Abacha loot, it was reported that the amount was 'too much' for them to trace. Yet Buahri told us that Abacha was not corrupt".

Timipriye Sylva: The former Bayelsa governor who now want to return to state house was accused and being tried for stealing a whooping N22Billion from the state. The case was on by EFCC before Buhari was sworn in as the president. Thereafter, the cases were abandoned by EFCC and Sylva is now running for governorship under Buhari's apc. As a friend of Buhari and member of Buhari's transition team, Sylva theft were written-off. http://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/top-news/184918-efcc-files-fresh-corruption-case-against-ex-governor-sylva.html

Abubakar Audu: Abubakar Audu's case of stealing N11 Billion from one of the poorest states in Nigeria is a pathetic story. No one knows the state of the case as of today. The funny twist to this case was that the State apc chairman told the people of Kogi to re-elect Audu Abubakar so that he can "return" the N11Billion stolen from them. Audu Abubakar as apc flag bearer in Kogi State remains Buhari's friend. Who is fooling who?

Malam El-Rufai: The governor if Kaduna State was formerly Federal Capital Territory minister under PDP. El-Rufai was alleged to have allocated plots to himself and his wives and concubines and even female lover (corp member) was being paid N1million per month as allowance. latest was the N5Billion paid to his company for consultancy service to CBN under Sanusi for no work done. All these were not probed by Buhari, yet story has it that El-Rufai is infact the defacto Vice President of Nigeria. A friend of Buhari is no longer corrupt.

Babatunde Fashola: The case against Fashola is know in public domain. He was reputed to have constructed a personal website with N78 Million in addition to having dug some two boreholes with N300 millions. Babatunde Fashola is a friend of Buhari and now a minister of Buhari's corruption fighting government. What an irony.

Fayemi: Amongst other corruption issues and plunging Ekiti state into an eternal debt, Fayemi was accused of making a bed for N40 million. All calls for EFCC to investigate this act of corruption was glossed over because Fayemi was the "organizer" of Buhari's winning primaries. He is now being appointed as a minister of FGN.

When men like this are moving freely with their agbadas raising, what is corruption fight all about then?

Comments like that of Oyegun is what leads to anarchy and stampede of the rule of law.

APC controls the Executive
APC controls the Legislature
And now also wants to control the only nonpartisan arm of government the judiciary undecided

APC is undermining the credibility of its own government by subjecting the judiciary to ridicule undecided

I make bold to say that APC do not need an opposition, cos they are already opposing their own government.
And they do it better
