TravelRe: The Crystal Service immigration Scam by N101: 7:20pm On Aug 21, 2011
Just thought I'd retype mcommcerce's response which has been blocked. The words and typos are his, I just paragraphed it to make it easier to read.

(not sure who this quote was by and it's not indicated in mcommcerce's post)
@justwise,is it not yet time for you to realised that its not supporting crystal services that makes one an applicant. you mentioned mcommcerce, didnt you read what i wrote about him?.i observed that you didnt comment on that, and it implies that you are aboring bad behaviour. mcommcerce is an outcast of crystal and he himself cant contest it.he was perpetrating scam and charging applicant N200,000 ,also collecting N3500 for seminar somewhere in ikeja that supposed to be free and supposed to be inside crsytal services premises. see dont mention the guy name again.
This is Part 1 of his response to the above. Part 2 to follow

mcommcerce: Here is my reply Justwise

Justwise u are right am an outcast of Crystal Service. Am a trained information marketer who sell information in ebook, book or seminar, I started directin my client to them middle of March dis year and stop directin people to Crystal Service around April b4 Ester.

I never collect 200k from people and never sold their form, never collected passport with proof.  I charge for the seminar which is 3k.  Am very careful and I told my friend,Pastor, soldier, lawyer, relative and people who came to my seminar cos dey knew am a no nonsense person.  I told them d truth dat it a risk and dey have to do it by themselves cos I can't do it for them cos I know d law.

I gave them Crystal Service address to go there and ask question and they shouldn't trust any one including me and also consult with their lawyer b4 taking any action  .I told them I wasnt their agent nor representative of which they are aware.  I never supported Crystal Service nor myself I told them it a risk.  Nigeria don't want to hear that sumfin is risky so some of my client didnt go to their office cos they are not ready for the risk.  Abt 6 of them register with them.

Found a Samsung overseas, unlocked quad band. Not for business really just for calls, Internet and Facebook. Friend insist the blackberry has "special features" for Internet, Yahoo, and Facebook that a Samsung doesn't have.

I think the only  "special feature" it has is that the blackberry is a status symbol that you can show off to your friends.

Who's right?
How "special" are these special features on the Blackberry that you haven't got on the Samsung you have?  I'm sure the people who are saying this own a Blackberry and not any other phone. My Nokia can do Yahoo, Facebook and the Internet, as can my Android phone.

The Canadian Embassy website lists 3 designated medical practitioners authorised by the embassy to do medical checks.  How comes Saint Nicholas isn't on that list as a designated centre for medical checks?

Plus under office closures and news, there's no mention of the High Commission or Deputy High Commission in Nigeria closing for 3 months, either in Abuja or Lagos.

I'm aware that most embassies observe local and country public holidays, so I'm curious as to whether the embassy closed for three months.

I think we Nigerians should at least wait for the Dee date before we criticize ourselves, I believe time has it all to tell, more so, who ever intends to scam people for stuffs like these will not remain under the ground forever, life will search him or her out one day. So please my brothers and sisters, let us have patient because September is almost here. Good luck to our en devours !!!
This is not the first or second date change, so people are very justified in asking questions.  I would however like the statement in bold addressed:

I work in the same company, same office and same floor with my husband. My unit serves as control on their unit so we interface a lot. We are both heads of our teams but get by perfectly. If not for the surname, you may not know we are married. We have agreed and don't mix home with work. So far so good.
I agree. I wouldn't have a problem working with my spouse in the same office, but one has to be mature enough to separate personal and professional life. If siblings can do it why not husband and wife?

If your comments here are anything to go by, I'd think twice about telling the mother:

ficoram:
@High chief.
Exactly my concern,i know the mother would not be happy about this, but i also want a seriouse measure to be taken about this to avert feature occurance or a major catastrophy. The girl is my problem, she has some elements of future waywardness and i fear, just as the mother, what she may becomes.
@mschance.
I agree with you, there is no restriction to what this children see on Tv,couple with the fact that they still sleep in their parent room.
Unless you know the parents to be reasonable people, DO NOT tell them what you saw their children doing. It sounds like the poor child would probably be punished by her mother and labelled as "wayward" at 6 years old through no fault of her own.

The children have been over-exposed  and probably see what their parents have been doing in their shared room and are simply mimicking them.  If's a way to tell the mother, it would be to encourage the parents to let the children sleep in a separate room.   And saying something along the lines like are  they aware that the children may know when they are being intimate; if the parents aren't careful, the children will start "playing" intimacy outside of the bedroom.

That should be a wake-up call to the parents. If anything happens in future and you're not around, they can't say they weren't warned.
PhonesRe: Airtel Is 419 by N101: 4:23am On Aug 20, 2011
Don't agree that Airtel is remotely better than most in Nigeria. They always have a problem with their system - that is if you can get through to them at all. I look forward to the day I can port my number because I am so taking my number to another network.  Since Airtel have taken over from Zain there's been one problem after another.

Forget 121, it is no different to the other Customer Service numbers they have provided.  A few days ago there was a total blackout of the service, for a whole day no calls, can't receive calls. They seem to be getting worse and worse.

It's not simple.  Orientation is not new to me, but you have not fully addressed my query:

Dubai and Manitoba are on two different continents in opposite directions; why orientation in Dubai and not in Manitoba, or Nigeria even?

My family especially my mother have been depriving themselves of a daily three square meal in order for me to achieve my vision in life
.After all this, should i take into my life a lady who contributed nothing to my future glory (by God's Grace)? Most women are indolent and want a ready-made man but not for me.Some guys in this thread who have been attacking my ideas should know that women that we take into our lives as a wife do not deserve all these benefits they are reaping.
Some guys abandoned their family and cling to their wives, garnishing them(wives) with wealth that come from the combination of efforts made by their family and themselves(guys). Is that right?
Should wives not even for a short while be given the responsibility of man?Should we continue to tolerate the lackadaissical attitude of most women?Should we not rise in a protest and require of women a service that would tantamount to the suffering we encountered while we are in the making? Please Think!!!
You are not serious. You already have a first degree and your family are starving themselves paying for a second first degree for you?  The people I know who have pursued a second first degree worked and studied at the same time. So you have been depending on your family all this time?

It sounds like you are looking for a woman to bail your family out, not a wife.  No responsible man should be spending his family's money like this, regardless of his vision.  Unless you're explaining yourself very badly, it seems like you are looking for a wife as a family/mummy replacement.  No woman's daughter should be subjected to that, no matter how hard working she is.

FashionRe: Should There Be A Law On Indecent Dressing? by N101: 12:10pm On Aug 19, 2011
There doesn't need to be a law. Simply do not allow people who are "indecently dressed" into workplaces or churches. Once those institutions have set the rules, people will have no choice but to comply.

@ kruku - human rights has its place, but this is not one of them. If not, I'm sure it would be ok in the US to still discriminate against you because of the colour of your skin.

I'm also using Opera Mini but version 6.1. The viewing format is exactly the same as on the website, so I'm not sure if the problem is unique to your phones or if others have the same.

Also notice the double posting (which I'm sure isn't deliberate). It seems to be happening to quite a few people posting using their phone.

It is really up to communities to ensure their drains and blocked waterways are cleared. It seems silly to expect the state government to take responsibility for something like this.

At least it's enough warning for people in flood-prone areas to move elsewhere if possible or at least safeguard their homes as best as they can.

Statistically, there are more Nigerians, but that doesn't equate to speaking clearer English. Most people take pride in speaking more than one language except some Nigerians. It's a skill, moreso to speak them fluently.

That one always puzzles me.

The problem I have with some aspects of this debate is that the men who end up with the women looking for a ready-made man make the mistake of going for looks over personality. That's not to say that looks don't have their place, but very few men are interested in the character of a woman. They go for the fake babes who then make their lives miserable, next thing you hear how bad women are.

I don't have a problem with the poster looking for a wife, but I do have a problem with the fact that he isn't financially independent but his family still pay his school fees etc.  If he was managing it all himself, then he would be in a better position to look for a wife of some means. But with marriage comes responsibility and a lot of maturity, beyond someone to do the house chores and coming home to a cooked meal.

Add to that the stress of studying, managing a home and working, it isn't easy.  I think the poster needs to think this through very carefully before looking to bring someone into his situation.

Nairaland GeneralRe: {DELETE] by N101: 11:17am On Aug 17, 2011
@ poster, your friend should also try and visit Olumo Rock in Ogun State. There's a good bit of history and, if you get a good tour guide, it's quite informative.  All of my friends who have visited Nigeria have been there and have enjoyed it.  Also Lekki Conservation Centre is a good place to visit.

Just let your friend know that Nigeria doesn't cater for tourists like Ghana or many of the East African countries.  As for the oyinbosonline website, personally I find that site questionable.  Not the best advertisement for Nigeria.
