jandj:God bless you sir for your inputs. However, I beg to disagree. I applied to a college with a 2:1 degree and got my visa. I think God Almighty, a good and convincing SOP and of cause strong financial statement will do the magic. Although if you have a 2:1 your first option should be a university except you have a good reason for applying to a college. I start in January and I am thinking of changing to masters if possible. |
BiafranBushBoy:Lol.... I don’t drink and I don’t offer such ![]() |
4suko:Lol bro, I am eating welll now. Thanks boss. |
Biafranbushboy you will see me in December by Gods Grace. Looking forward to meeting you. @mightyola I got your mention. You too much brotherly. Your story will turn out successful, forget the delay and retire. I belive in you. I will pm you. Jnyuwa02 sorry boss I did not respond on time. I think your question has been answered already? |
Been long you saw me guys. It has been one big experience for me. But I thank God he did not let enemies laugh over me. I got passport request on 15/08/18 back in London, got back to Nigeria with all my loads on 18/08/18 cos my Uk visa was about to expire and then submitted my passport at Lagos Canada VFS office on 20/08/18 to get it stamped. Then the long wait started. I had to defer my admission and school said they would not give me a new LOA until they see my stamped passport. I started panicking cos my old LOA expired while waiting. You guys don’t want to even imagine what was going through my mind? Imagine telling everyone they have requested for your passport ( I already announced on Nairaland and even told about 10 close friends and family out of excitement) and then what should normally take 7-10 days is taking forever. Questions I started asking myself; Who did I tell and was not happy for me? Are they doing additional checks after asking for my passport? God have i done something bad in Lagos that wants to prevent my approval? P.S: I waited 5 weeks and 3 days to get my passport request letter back then in London and then I waited another 5 weeks and 3 days in Lagos to get my visa stamped. Passport was submitted 20/08/18. I got my correspondence letter on 27/09/18 and counter foil was stamped 26/09/18. please this is my personal opinion. (1) until you get your passport stamped and collect it physically, don’t announce it. I repeat do not announce it. Even after you have gotten it, continue in prayers cos POE still Dey there. God is the greatest. God is the greatest. God is the greatest. You guys will see more of me here now.

mightyola:Thanks so much bro, you seem to know these people very well. I will do as you have mentioned. How far with your application? Eligibility review started? PLease is there anyone on this forum currently at Fanshawe College? I need accommodation for September close to school (not going to be a liability, I will pay)... please help me abeg. |
bisimo:Lagos, Nigeria. In Lagos at the moment bro. Paid 11,290 naira. |
mightyola:Mightyola how far bro, did you defer? Mailed the school to tell them I might be late for resumption as I just submitted my passport on Monday but did not get a response from them. The emails I sent to are below. I sent emails to aonar@fanshawec.ca and intafrica@fanshawec.ca Modified: I requested for extension till the 10th of September and Aysem replied Almost immediately (early morning).

Wheyme:Wow, I remember your story and how you were delayed initially and then fought back immediately without giving up. Your second application is so fast, congrats bro. So so happy for you. That’s the spirit, Canada we coming. |
Ezriela:I absolutely need God I cannot lie. Despite my unfaithfulness, he remains faithful. My mum is my god on earth. Thanks bro. |
Ggetter50:Spot on bro. I am grateful. Thanks so much. Are you also expecting a decision? If yes, it will turn in your favour bro. God will do it for you too. |
Let me start by thanking all the gurus of this great thread, you guys rock. Thank you so much jnyuwa02 and Frankrobbn1 and the guy that made that list on the first page, God bless you guys. I make a special prayer for you today Jnyuwa02, as you have been a blessing to many People on here, God Almighty will perfect everything that concerns you in Jesus name (amen). I started my journey late June and had to read close to 50 pages of this thread within a week. I got all documents and applied July 10. My application to Canada was a last minute try. I had a 2:1 in business but the only school I could find as at late June was Fanshawe college and I picked PGC logistics and supply chain management (LSCM), got admission and paid first term fees. Documents submitted - Paper Application - submitted July 10 All IMM forms My personal statement of account - mum transferred over £16,000 in 3 tranches via an agent. A sponsors letter from my mum - I actually wrote this letter for my mum ( I saw sample on the first page) and strongly emphasised how she has been the one who sent me to do BA in UK and paid for 4 years without owing. I made sure this letter was not more than a page and straight to the point. - Letter of explanation (LOE) from me - I detailed the course I was going for, focused on how I have had a good record in the UK, no criminal convictions and always obeyed the rules. Also mentioned how I never missed classes for 4 years and completed my studies without any issue. I stressed on how I love challenges, stating how I moved from Nigeria to UK alone (culture change, new people et al) and how I would love to try a new challenge in Canada and try education over there and then concluded with, once I am done with the PGC LSCM in Canada, I would come back and take over my mums company. p.s my mum owns a company in Nigeria. I wrote my LOE myself using the sample on the first page and then sent it to my brother who is a PHD holder to proof read for errors. I Told him I am satisfied with the content all I needed was proof reading for errors. If I remember correctly, I made sure my LOE was not more than 600 words. - birth certificate, my passport page, mothers passport page, C of O of my mothers house, CAC documents for my mothers business, proof of payment of first term tuition fees, BA certificate, transcripts. All these documents were photocopied and no original was collected at London Canada VFS office. - no medicals (not needed for applicants in UK) and no Police certificate. The things that scared me were; (1) I forgot to explain the lump sum. I honestly cannot tell how I forgot to explain this after reading this word for word before submitting my documents. (2) Difficult convincing the VO in my SOP why I would be leaving UK with a 2:1 with the option of doing masters here in UK in a university but decided to do PGC in Canada when the fees were almost the same? To make matters worse, the course is a very common course in UK in almost all Universities. Infact, my application was screaming this guy wants to run away. (3) I am a matured student - 31 years. (4) I also forgot to show my USA visa (still valid till Dec 2019), Dubai stamped passport page. After I submitted, I fasted day and night for at least 9 days. I have never fasted more than a day in UK in my 4 years of being here. This whole process taught me many things I will never forget. Finally let me say this, on 10/08/18 (Last week Friday), I listened to a convention online by Pastor EA Adeboye and once he was done with his sermon, he asked everyone to stand up for prayers. Just before he asked people to pray, he paused and suddenly said "the lord said there is someone here, that one breakthrough you need for your joy to be full, receive it. Something in me told me that word was for me, I jumped up, claimed it and kept on praying with it. I sincerely pray for as many that are still hoping on God for their visas, your joy would also be full before this month runs out if you believe. this whole application is just Mercy of God. p.s I am not saying don't put in work, put in maximum work, put all documents and then pray. Thank you to wheyme, galala123, lagos2canna, bismo, ezriela, mightyola, shizzleadedapo, bbclue and every other person. I am so grateful. |
mightyola:I applied on July 10. Thanks boss. Please all the gurus in the house help me, can I submit my request letter in any Canadian embassy in the world? I plan on leaving the UK tomorrow or Friday unfailingly or I should just post my passport with my request letter to the UK? My UK visa expires next week Wednesday, if I submit my passport and I don’t get it on or before next week Wednesday, I would get a UK ban. Please has anyone done it before? |
God I am so happy. |
Guys I just got my request letter. I can’t believe this. God is the greatest. I will get back to you guys shortly. |
shegxyt:If what you wrote above is true about CIC officials coming over to your house to physically inspect then these guys have a lot of time, resources (both human and financial) on their hands. No wonder application takes like 4 months to process. |
mightyola:No bro, I swear I am fed up of this process. What are they checking for crying out loud? People from May are still expecting their feedback... it’s crazy. |
Jayjaycee18:Dayummmmm.... see as application tight as I dey read am sef, my body dey sweet. Congrats to you and your wife. |
mightyola:I got it bro, there is no way we can meet yh day date cos even when we get the visa, we still need to submit passport. I will send them a mail tomorrow asking for at least 2 weeks extension. If they cannot do that, let them return my money. |
mightyola:I can still see you online bros no be small thing o. It will end in praise. |
mightyola:bro you no dey sleep ![]() |
harde116:Hello sir, I think you need to slow down the way you attack these guys. I am not saying you don't have a point but coming out on full attack mode is not the way to go about it. These guys have contributed consistently for months on this forum without being paid, let us appreciate their efforts. Attacking them will send them away and I don't think you can contribute regularly the way they do. I am even very sure your TRV which you got of recent, these guys contributed to the success one way or the other. They may not always be correct and that is understandable because they are humans. Most people on here are PG students. For you to think of doing PG in any of the western countries, you must be able to carry out research independently and double check every information you receive before using it. Information on here is not absolute, the job of everyone on here is to confirm that it is true. On the study gap issue, it is common sense to suggest that most visa officers all over the world will want to know what you have been doing for long after your UG (if you have 2,3 years gap and above) and why you are just going for PG now. If you have been away from school for a long while, you MUST convince them that you still have the passion for education and you are not just using this as an escape route. I have attended UK student visa interviews and have many other friends who have passed through it (we all had study gaps) and the first question the VO asked was what were you doing all this while? Same for USA student visas. Explain clearly in your letter what you have been doing, the reason you are going now for PG and convince them why that reason makes sense. The argument on what is a study gap, I think is totally unnecessary. Finally, lets learn to give our opinions without "attacking" each other. |
Please who knows the game I can play with a lady or games ladies would love playing? Ladies, which game do you love playing? My babe is coming over and I don’t even know a game I can buy for us to play on Ps4? Someone help, thanks. |
Frankrobbn1:I don’t understand myself. I see people with MSc and over 5 years experience on this thread going for study permit like seriously? Why not just go for EE and get PR? I think most people assume EE is too difficult. I know at least 5 people between December last year and last month who just got Canada visa via EE route from Nigeria. If you have MSC already with work experience, that is what you should be doing. |
bisimo:A big amen boss, thanks. |
kingfintan:You like trouble bro. Your application is ready, just go and collect it and see what is inside yourself. No need asking people to guess wether it was approved or not. Every aplication is unique and different. Please brace up, go collect it, come back and give us your testimony of approval. |
Wheyme:September 3 (but have at least grace of extra 3 weeks for enrolment). UK visa processing from Nigeria has different types. you have normal processing times, priority (5 working days) and premium (1 day). Doing it from Nigeria, I need to do an interview. Here in UK, no interview. |
Wheyme:Thanks bro. |
jnyuwa02:Thank you, coming back to the UK is very easy for me. However, what I am scared of is the money I have now for studies in UK, what if I don't have access to it when next I want to come back to UK (God forbid I don't get the Canada visa)? It costs nothing less than 9M to school in UK (fees + maintenance funds). Mum is the one sponsoring and she cannot guarantee the availability of funds if I decide to come back. Thats my biggest fear, if not, I would have packed my bags right now and be on my way to Naija. I will make a decision on what to do by next week Tuesday unfailingly. Fingers crossed I would have gotten a response from CIC. Thanks for your advice and the link. |
