In the whole of Ijawland, as at when Asari Dokubo founded his university, Niger Delta University in Yenagoa was the only university. Don't forget, Ijaw is the third largest ethnic group in the country.
I did not know that! Sir, after which two ethnic groups?

If Asari was corrupt, then yes Buhari would have had him investigated and possibly arrested. Your utterances and that of other iPods are clear evidence that the welfare of the ND is not your prime concern, but to try to frustrate this government (good luck at that cheesy) otherwise it makes absolutely no sense for you to be in support of his scheme to avoid paying for looting his peoples commonwealth under Jonathan by siting his university abroad.

To all the faint bulbs arguing that Asari is not a looter, tell me the legitimate source of Asari's billions if you're not just blind hypocrites.

However, if your grouse is the Ibos inability to 'taste power' then you have a long season of bile to nurse cheesy
Usually I don't scold people online, but what you wrote up there absolutely makes no sense. You just made certain statements and countered your own statements in the same comment!

And pleeeaassseee you simpletons, not everyone with a view different from yours has to be Igbo or Ipod or whatever name you decide to use.

I, for instance, am from a part of Nigeria that is neither Hausa, Yoruba or Igbo, but see everyone as the same Nigerian. Anyone who thinks he/she is a superior being based on tribe, ethnicity or religion honestly looks like Shyyt to me.

Wasn't this letter debunked as fake, some weeks ago?
The sad truth is that quite a lot have the mindset portrayed in the article. Even down to many almajiris on the streets.

I believe what fuels such disposition toward 'Southern Nigerians' is the well-known disunity, especially between the West and East.

Northerners, despite the many ethnic groups, are far more united, most especially the Muslim brethren. (Take your recent NLC strike for instance; check what happened in Jos where a mere sensitization was attempted).

I feel when there is unity, there would be an unfavourable environment for such hateful teachings to thrive. Such extremists exist in the West, but their madness do not exceed the confines of their homes and meeting places, as there are solid social and political systems in place in which such level of fanaticism and bigotry will not be tolerated.

But I guess, Nigerians still don't want to learn even in this 21st Century.
PoliticsRe: The Hypocrisy Of Niger Deltans by NaMe4: 5:57am On May 22, 2016
But Op, do you believe that Asari Dokubo, being a militant, would have been granted necessary licences to establish a University within Nigeria?

Even if his 'brother' happened to be the C-in-C for 5 years, we all know what would have become of such investment by now with this present government.

That reminds me of the Maritime University that was to be set up in one of the Niger Delta States. What plans has this administration got for it? Talk more of one built by a militant!

Steven Johnsons syndrome isn't new to naija na...had about two cases in Ubth last year and 2years ago..... it's mainly an adverse reaction to some drugs....especially NSAIDS...and about it being contagious,i don't think so..
Self-medication is so wrong...I really wish Nigerians would be more enlightened about d dangers of self medication....

imagine d last tym my grandma visited, I caught her searching my room...when I asked her y she was in my room, she said she was looking for red tablets...(she believes all red tablets are blood medicines) It took d intervention of my parents for her to give me all d red tablets in her possesion....

Self medication is so wrong
Exactly!

This has been around.

It can be regarded as a type of adverse drug reaction. It is caused by hypersensitivity to certain drugs and infections in certain people.

And definitely isn't contagious!

A horrible and misleading press release I must say!

Imagine a minister of health (Prof) and consultant saying such!

EducationRe: 10 English Sentences That Can Make You Appear As A 'Quarter-Baked' Graduate by NaMe4:
freecocoa:
You know, talking about the phrases 'you and I' and 'you and me. Both are actually interchangeable, they are synonymous but grammatically different. It's a good example of hypercorrection.

To make it easier, when you want to make a sentence, take out 'you and' to see if the sentence sounds right with 'I or Me'

For instance

I want cake vs Me want cake

You'll agree, I want cake sounds better

you and I want cake, it is.
You are correct with the example you gave. Still, ME and I are not interchangeable in any given sentence.

I is used as a subject before a verb/action.

Me follows a preposition.

Eg

I bring papers here everyday Cannot be interchanged with 'Me bring paper here everyday.

This was done by Me' Cannot be interchanged using 'this was done by I'

As you rightly said, when making certain sentences involving the 2nd and 1st persons, One of the persons should be removed to ascertain if the sentence sounds correct.

You search for someone one, people or things.

You look at things or people.

When you look. You stare at a particular direction.

When you search, you try to find something by seeking for it thoroughly and carefully.
To 'look for' someone/something is correct.

OP, you don show yourself to be a 1/8th graduate sef! Lol!

You can actually look for someone. Duh!

Ola, something is smelling. Can you hear it...ehen!!! 'HEAR'? English!!!

Seems you concentrated on the HEAR. What is 'Something is smelling' in the 1st place?

One very common one that irritates is eg: Let's make it better for you and I.

It's you and me please!

hello docs... my wife is pregnant nd was complaining of tiredness nd pain sometimes (in d base of her tummy)..also complains of palpitations...this is her first pregnancy... so I took her for FBC nd was told d result was normal. went for blood culture(cos I suspected infection). this is d result here...is there any cause for alarm? she's 11 weeks pregnant
I'm pretty sure that was urine culture not blood culture.

11 weeks seems like a good time to start antenatal visits (as per Naija). An evaluation of the pregnancy at booking will most likely bring about the best management plan for her and the baby.

Hope she is much better. All the best.

Hello Dr pls help, I lost 2months pregnancy day before yesterday. Did scan it comfirmed complete arbotion.my dr wrote heamatinics for me but am still droping blood. What should I do?
It's normal to see spotting a few days after such events (complete miscarriage). There is no cause for alarm as long as there are no associated symptoms.

You may want to see your doctor if the spotting persists for over two weeks or the bleeding increases or you notice any form of abnormal discharge, fever or lower abdominal pains.

gud evening doc pls help me, my period was 8days late last month before it came and it was unusually heavy and lasted for 5days instead of d usual 3days but ever since i hv been feelin like am pregnant, I'm having all d usual pregnancy symptoms, d problem now is i can't go for a test cos it always positive and i think it too early for a scan, went to d hospital and was told it infection. pls i need a second opinion.
Whenever you have a pregnancy test done, it always turns out positive?

You can go to a hospital or diagnostic laboratory to carry out a Serum Preg Test.

If positive, then you are most likely pregnant or have been pregnant up until the previous 2-3 weeks.

PoliticsRe: EFCC Fixes Date For Jonathan's Arrest – Reportsafrique.com by NaMe4:
I really hated a lot of things about the last administration. But will arresting 'only' Jonathan and office holders in his administration solve Nigeria's long-standing problem?

I'm not saying we should forfeit whatever is recoverable but we have to take a holistic approach - every contributor to Nigeria's problems has to be held to account and tried from every past administration. Why concentrate on a particular group of persons and leaving out even far worse atrocities?

Obviously, nothing new or novel is coming out from these guys, but if this is the only thing they intend to do, I advise they do it well and not half-heartedly.

If the current 4-year term of this government is to prosecute past governments, it should NOT be wasted on only ONE Past administration! Rather, it should solve every long-standing problem. Else this will only lead to irreversible damage to the Nigerian entity.

I strongly believe doing the right thing will be supported by most Nigerians.
