PoliticsRe: Tinubu, kwankwaso, atiku, buhari All Lead Jonathan With 3million Votes In 2015 by nameo: 10:44am On Jul 09, 2022
seunmsg:
Let’s say APC will lose 3m out of the 15m votes it got in 2019 due to poor performance, that still leaves the party with 12million votes. Let’s also assume 3million new voters will vote on Election Day and they will all vote against the ruling party. So, the combined opposition now has 11+3+3= 17million votes.

If majority of voters in SE and SS vote for Peter Obi, he should get about 7million votes. So, the remaining 10million votes will go to Atiku and Kwakwanso.

So we are left with this possible outcome :

Tinubu - 11million votes
Atiku. - 8 million votes
Obi - 7million votes
Kwakwanso- 2million votes

At the end of the day, it’s still a Tinubu victory. If the opposition can’t come together, there is absolutely no way APC can be defeated.
In all these you people's political "calculations", there is a critical constituency you guys keep forgeting(maybe it is intentional): the people that did not vote in 2015 and 2019 even tho they already had a PVC.

Those guys are in the majority. By far. Only about 30% voted in 2019 for example. What of the other 70% that did not vote? Why didnt they vote? Is the situation different enough currently ro make a lot of them change their mind to vote? Who will they vote?Which regions have the majority of these people? Etc etc.

I am of the firm opinion that except something very significant happens, next years elections will be very competitive and very unpredictable. The candidates and parties that will win has a lot of working to do. And that the CHARACTER and MESSAGE of the candidates may be crucial in this aspect.

Enough said

I have been reading about people complaining of toxicity of Obi's supporters.

They mostly attack, insult, lies when engaging with others.

Even with their toxicity, they are very easy to handle if you can engage with them in this manner

1. Average of them are toxic ,bitter and not interested about others opinions, so you should have that at the back of your mind before engaging with them

2. Average of them are illiterates and the educated ones amongst them are half baked.

3. They can't exchange 4 intellectual conversations without derailing or throwing tantrum

4. They have little information about most of the topics they argue about, allow them to run their mouth and use their comments to ask them thought provoking questions.

5. For the fact that they can't handle intellectual questions, there response will mostly be derailig from the topic or insult you.

6. Repeat that same question and see them fade into the thing air

Their weakness should be the strength to engage with them, intellectual capacity
Bros, are you putting "intellectual capacity" and yourself in same sentence?

Really??

Remove Taraba, Nasarawa, Gombe and Lagos from Peter Obi for now.

Atiku might take Taraba with Peter Obi coming second.

Tinubu to win Nasarawa with Peter Obi coming second.

Gombe is too close to call for Atiku and Tinubu. But the votes of southern Gombe who are majorly Christians are for Peter Obi.

Then Tinubu will win Lagos just that the margin of victory might not be much. Peter Obi is coming second.

That’s what is realistic for now.

These are subject to change as dynamics change though.

I did my PVC registration today and it was quite a day. Thanks to Twitter,I found the address of the INEC office here in Owerri. I got to the office around 8:30am, the crowd i met was massive and that put a sense of discouragement in me but I shrugged it off. 80% of the population were youths and that was impressive and encouraging. Long story cut short I spent 8hrs and 15 minutes before it got to my turn with hunger, tiredness and frustration trying their best to discourage me but i stood my ground. I felt so relieved when my registration slip was handed over to me. I took two friends with me and that gave me a sense of fulfillment. PLEASE GET YOUR PVC, IT IS YOUR TICKET TO GOOD GOVERNANCE!!!!!

Check the statistics/results again... Howmany middle belt states did jonathan won in 2015?

Don't forget that Niger state, kwara, Kogi, Benue, adamawa are among the middle belt you said they massively vote for Jonathan.

Jonathan only won Plateau, nasarawa and taraba while buhari won the rest.... Don't just come here and be dropping rubbish analysis.

The only regions jonathan won in 2015 is South east and south south.

Middle belt is the key for both Northern/Southern Candidates.
Ok...you have even corrected him.

PoliticsRe: We Overestimate The Northern Vore by nameo: 8:53am On Jul 05, 2022
Nazgul:
It was 2015 not 2016.

And you forgot something very important. The entire SS, SE, NC and SW voted massively for Jonathan in 2011 that's why he won.

By 2015, the SW alined with the NE, and NW and even though the SS, SE and NC voted Jonathan massively again, he lost.

Jonathan won 4 geopolitical zones in 2011 and Buhari won 2. By 2015 he and Buhari won 3 each but because the north had more registered voters he lost.

There are 6 geopolitical zones in Nigeria, for now Peter Obi is only controlling just one which is the SE and this happens to be the least populated zone. The SS is divided between him and Atiku so he would most likely not catch all the SS votes.

The NC would most likely rally to him because he's a Christian and they've been persecuted by bandits, fulanis...etc.

This leaves us with the SW, NE and NW. The SW would vote for Tinubu without question, although Peter Obi would catch a reasonable number of votes from Lagos, but would loose the remaining SW states.

The NE and NW, this would be the deciding factor cos they have the highest number of registered voters. Atiku, Kwankwaso and Tinubu would struggle for votes here.

The reality here is that if Peter Obi wants to win, he must make a deal with the SS, if he has the SE, SS and NC in his pocket, he has clearly won.

But I'm beginning to feel discouraged at his campaign strategy, the Osun election is just weeks away and he hasn't gone there to campaign for the LP candidate, he did the same thing during the Ekiti elections. We know that LP cannot win the Governorship election in Osun, but putting up a good fight would make Nigerians believe that they're ready for the presidential election next year. If he doesn't liase with other LP aspiring candidates, how does he expect to mobilize grassroot support next year?

This is what gives me worry...you can't be a one man mopol and expect to win an election.
Who won the NC in 2015?

Buhari or GEJ??

I will comment on the OP later.

I also believe and i have been saying it here that the upper North votes is not as crucial as people make it seem. There are 3 factors that favour them, two of which would likely not be operational in the next elections

With the introduction of new technologies by inec i.e the BVAS machine(biometric voters accreditation system)this electronic device will be use for electronic accreditation of voters before the can elect. This device shows the whole details of the voter, after finger printing before he or she can vote. This device eliminates double voting.Again if number of voters accredited for election is 100 and more than 100 voted, the results of that polling unit will be cancelled. This device also enables results from polling units to be transmitted electronically to the collation centers, were results are announced. This device captures and stores all the voters information from polling units to collation centers, thereby eliminating rigging completely.
We must insist that INEC completes this great step by ensuring that voter buying is reduced significantly.

One of doing this is to implement secret voting in voting polling centres across the country. Ensure that the actual voting booth is away from where people are gathered and that it is covered sufficiently so that nobody sees whp people vote.

This is even an INEC rule. We must now insist that it is followed strictly everywhere

Currently, Nigeria spends 96 percent of its income to service debt, which jumped to N41.6 trillion in the first quarter of 2022. In 2015, total national debt stock was N8.8 trillion. The IMF projects that by 2026, debt servicing would gulp 100 percent of federal income.
This is just so sad!

I almost shed tears reading this.

Just imagine, 32.8 trillion had been borrowed since 2015 and yet absolutely nothing to show

My God!
Bros, just to expantiate on this this terrible situation:

98% (i.e virtually all monies budgeted in Nigeria, about 3trillion) is used to service the debts we already have. THAT IS ALL THE MONEY WE BUDGET AT THE FEDERAL LEVEL IS USED TO SERVICE OUR ALREADY HELD DEBTS.

And these debts are not been repaid o. Services just means paying interests and other charges on the debts. That means the debts are still there and piling.

They are piling cos the money that is to used to run the country either recurrent budget(paying of salaries, running MDAs, etc) and Capital budget(building roads, rails, power etc) are further borrowed.

Meaning the suceeding year, more money are used to service these piling debts and more money further borrowed to do basic things.

And so on and so forth.

We are in unbelievably terrible condition in this country!!!

From the interview, you'll clearly see the division ethnoreligious sentiments have caused.

Those saying Obi had more votes than Atiku shouldn't be deceived. Did you really look at those they said they'll vote for Atiku and those that said they'll vote for Obi to see the difference? Most of the people voting for Atiku in the video are clearly Muslim northerners. Those that said they'll vote for Obi are either southerners or Christian northerners. This has always been the issue.

The way we vote in this country isn't helping at all. Everybody wants to vote for their own irrespective of how incompetent he or she is. A typical example is Buhari. They wanted Buhari, Buhari has come and showed us all shege.

This video is very deceitful. Like someone stated, this was done in the urban area of Adamawa, probably Yola. Let them do same video in Demsa, Madagali, Mubi, Gombi and see how the tides will change.

Nope... a major subset of voters now are the young people everywhere. Which demographic do you think are rushing to go get PVCs.

Young people have always been by far the largest demography in Nigeria. They jusy didnt vote previously cos most didnt care. But now, those that dont have PVCS are rushing to get. Those that have and have never voted are ready to vote, some of them for the 1st time in their lives. They are the people with the enthusiasm NOW.
